You'd think by now microtransactions would be a thing of the past due to backlash, but it seems like it's only stronger than ever. Game companies nowadays will delay a game and still release it unfinished with the promise of "fixing things later" in future updates. At least it looks like Elden Ring will break the cycle...

@@wedmunds Most updates add new areas and a lot more content. currently 2.5 is a filler update and it's totally understandable to get filler updates since they need to work on Sumeru, an entire whole ass region + a bunch of characters to come with it.
I always say this nothing will change about the industry if we keep on buying dumb, outrageous, overpriced, dlc & stuff no matter how much people criticize a game or company they don't care because they are still making that money in the end they could give two shits about what some person thinks on the internet. Now let's say if people don't buy and boycott something from a game they will lose money and then that is when they will care but people would never learn and the industry would continue and continue till we get to a point where we have to pre pre order a game to get it lol

I'm a person who is currently learning C++ on Udemy in hopes of creating the projects i have in mind. And I'm thinking of becoming a game developer
I have my idea of my game in mind and a bit on paper and i think in my mix between and inspired by doom (1993) and arsenal, im kind of feeling like not adding the option to obtain game currency via paying real money.
Seeing how game company's price virtual game items for exorbitant amounts of money, i'm more leaning to player getting in game currency via how good they were in that match.
If i were to add the option of in game currency for real world money, maybe i would price things more fairly than capitalistically satanic.

Damn I hate the modern gaming trends. The old days are definitely better than the new money-grubbing scheme trends nowadays. The microtransactions, lootboxes, sometimes pay2win, the huuuuuuuge almost 100+- GB size games but with no fucking offline single player, no campaign or sandbox, no local multiplayer or split screen or LAN, or the single player is so shit with 0 passion, online multiplayer only but full price games, that are somehow always rushed, broken at launch, unfinished, or locked behind a bullshit pass or price tag, bugs galore, while being just a rehash of old ideas or just remakes/reboots of old stuff, etc etc. I fucking hate the game industry nowadays.
