    If Salamanders are already considered the biggest first born marines and Primaris are generally larger than the firstborn brothers, does that mean the Dark Krakens are nearly primarch sized space marines?

    The Iron Snakes are also a maritime themed chapter :) arguably the Space Wolves are too... Carcharodons are trickier what with not having a home world, but in Silent Hunter the marines in that have an oceanic culture...

      Emperor spears have a ocean world. Jade Dragons have an oceanic culture.

      It's been ages since I read their book, but I remember the Iron Snakes being like the greeks of Odysseus-themed.

    Oh boy the dark Kraken's chapter story is awesome also "I" too love ocean themed stuff like
    The Salamanders dark Kraken's there story for the battle of Heraldo Forest was bloody and atrocious indeed that four way war of attrition, with the combine imperial forces of death watch and 2 space Marine outfits like Wolf's spear chapter and Orc's Tyranid's and unsong wolf's That was too the extreme plus the characters themselves in the story were very interesting, plus the unsong wolf's we're also particularly interesting, because they we're just trying to survive as nature intended. That Artwork at 5:26 is the best example why The Tyranid's, are so feared throughout the imperium. Plus that artwork of dark Kraken's models at 2:09 is badass looking and well painted, the dark Kraken's the trident's of Naktis."

    Thanks to DreadAnon's Dune parody, I kept thinking of them as the "Dark Crackheads", peddling that Firedrake Dust between battles to keep the Salamanders heritage alive.

    A bit watery for a Salamanders offshoot!
    Looking cool though.

    Great video GDN. Their color scheme reminds me of The Soul Drinkers somewhat. Love the "Water" theme they have. Also kind of reminded of The Iron Snakes.

    A fine name for a fine-tasting, good rum and so it would seem for this stylized chapter of Salamanders scions as well. Primaris or no - they remain space marines. Vulkan's legacy of serpent identity takes to the transformative deeps of a chapter homeworld. Perhaps the most straight marine-based chapter there is, at least officially.
    I always appreciate your surprise returns to long-dormant playlists or topics of yours, GDN, and this gladly proved no different. I particularly enjoyed the more literary composition to this entry, rather than a profile of the Dark Krakens' makeup. It's cause for more storytelling basis for you to Narrate, along with 'deprioritizing' the differences between the astartes and the primaris. We're all one, big, battle brother family.
    Aye, huge monster-hunting, a variety of planetary environments and human forces and an invading hive fleet of the big, bad alien bugs made for a unique kind of space marine chapters entry. I wholeheartedly support more of the same, whether or not you decide to elaborate on these noble, seamen souls of primaris successors, Narrator. In the meantime, thank you very much for a bit of this series originally set on Saturdays. Have a healthy and awesome day. The Emperor protects.

    One thing that has continued to confuse me is that the armor of the Space Marines is supposed to be impervious except to major force or supernatural strength, and yet, we always see that just about anything can still get through it. I can't see how hypothetical versus scenarios of Space Marines against some other force can't defeat them easily unless modern weaponry when even wildlife of all sorts can even penetrate Primaris suits.

    • @doomguy9049
      @doomguy9049 3 місяці тому +6

      Yeah that's always bugged me too, there shouldn't be any scenario where cultists or gangers are able to poke through an astartes' power armour with standard issue melee weapons let alone improvised ones when they're supposed to be basically impervious to conventional firearms, and I just don't see how creatures like genestealers could have blades/claws both sharp and sturdy enough to do so either, no matter how strong they are.

      personally i think they are without the cybernetics and extra organs probably around captain America level someone who is considered a max level human with those extra things pushing them a bit above him if using other fictional characters as a comparison but also still not completely outside human capabilities why sometimes a human can still beat a space marine 1v1 even without element of surprise they are a high level human themselves and a adrenaline surge etc pushed them to the point they can for a short time match a space marine and they also hit weak points in the armor or armed with gear that can go through average space marine armor though such stories are rare but they do exist and thats my personal explanation for such events

    • @blumiu2426
      @blumiu2426 3 місяці тому +2

      @@doomguy9049 I can only see size of a genestealer being a factor, having enough force to crush if not sheer force behind it. If they can "evolve" to rend all their armors, they essentially can destroy Men of Iron, some supposed to be from an age well beyond anyone's capability of handling.
      I'm not sure if I've read of gangers killing Astartes, but they do get their hands on Militarum equipment, and we know that is able to pierce Astarte's armor. In the short time compared to others I'm amazed how broken the lore of 40K is and why barely any fans bring up these issues. Not all care and are into models, but those on lore channels are few and far that acknowledge and others get touchy poking holes in it.
      It's only in the older books space marines are terrifying figures that seem god-like, but the over-exposure has hurt them, I feel. No small wonder with GW and how they handled Warhammer Fantasy. They treat them like the Stormcast, except they can't revive. Get their butts kicked by anything despite being wrought by Sigmar.

      The plates are pretty impenetrable, but have thier week spots you know, how I look at it, then the superman strength stops them exploding inside the armour I guess😂
