Great video, thanks! Regarding the video quality, if you're not aware, it is my understanding that to get 1080 in Zoom, you have to contact support and request it be enabled in your account.
Thanks for the comment! From my experience, as I just went through the process myself, the maximum I can get on a pro-account is 720p, and 1080p is only available with an enterprise account. However please let me know if you found a work-around to make this happen! Here was Zoom Support's email to me regarding this: Upon double checking your account, you are currently on a Pro account, and for Pro account we can only enable the Standard HD (720p) on our end. But, you do have the option to upgrade your plan to the following plans : Business, Education, or Enterprise account, in able for you to use the Full HD (1080p) resolution (Please be guided on how to upgrade your account with the link provided below : Upgrading your account and add-ons)
Great video. With Wirecast can I animate the move of a camera between shots? For example, in you AB layout, camera A is smaller than in the A only layout. I'd like to animate the camera growing in size and filling the screen. I can do it with my ATEM but would like to eliminate that from my system if possible. Thanks. This video was very helpful.
Thanks! Great question. Wirecast comes with several built-in transitions that you can adjust. Such as Smooth, 3D Plane, Cut, etc.. When I choose "smooth", it often does a smooth transition from AB to A, zooming in on the box with the click of one button.. So I think you can get the look you want using this method.
14:05... Can you clarify this for me if you are the host .. Is the host giving permission access to zoom account using wirecast to sign into zoom account? Ok let's continue.. now that we are signed into wirecast... Right... How will the participation join .. is it by sending them the invitation link that wirecast will generate OR does the participant join the regular normal way with the zoom meeting ID and password that they are already know .. and since the host is using wirecast and not the zoom application.. then all zoom participant will automatically enter into the wirecast studio canvas and now the host will be able to put them into their individual box A.B.C. SS . Please clarify and correct if I missed a step in my statement question and answer. Thank you so much .
Thank you for your detailed questions! I'm happy to clarify the process for you. Let me address each of your points: 1. Host permissions: You're correct that Wirecast does join the Zoom call, and as the host, you need to allow Wirecast to enter the meeting. However, Wirecast doesn't sign into your Zoom account directly. Instead, you set up the Zoom meeting separately, and then use Wirecast to join as a participant, which you'll need to approve as the host. 2. Joining the meeting: Participants join the Zoom meeting in the regular way, using the standard Zoom meeting ID and password. Wirecast doesn't generate any invitation links or change how people join the call. 3. Host setup: As the host, you're actually using both the Zoom application and Wirecast simultaneously. You start the Zoom meeting as usual, then use Wirecast to join the call and capture the Zoom window for streaming. 4. Wirecast integration: Participants don't automatically enter the Wirecast studio canvas. They're just joining a normal Zoom call. On your end, you're using Wirecast to capture the Zoom window, which allows you to arrange the video feeds in your stream layout. 5. Arranging participants: You're correct that once you've captured the Zoom call in Wirecast, you can arrange participants into different placeholders (like A, B, C, SS) within your Wirecast layout. The key thing to remember is that for participants, this is just a normal Zoom meeting. The only difference they might notice is a notification that the meeting is being live-streamed. All the Wirecast magic happens on your end as the host, without changing the Zoom experience for your participants. I hope this clarifies the process for you! Let me know if you have any other questions.
