The Generic Layout is fantastic. Thanks Will. Internal staging area is a brilliant idea giving the illusion of trains coming from far away places.

I was actually there at the exhibition displaying my little N scale layout Lapford.
I missed a number of layout’s unfortunately due to time.
I know next year (hopefully) I’ll have to be there both days! Sorry again
@@WillJamesRailways Don't worry about it and if I am displaying my layout there next year (which I probably will) it'll have more on it too as it's still a WIP.

I absolutely loved that multi-themed layout at the beginning of the video. Something like that is something I would like to do with my own model railway I want to build since my collection is a mix and match of USA and UK (I wish I could add Australian trains to that roster but Australian trains really aren't readily available here in the USA sadly). So seeing someone else execute a similar idea and so well done is really motivating.

Really nice showcase of these layouts. I get more enjoyment from seeing them in your videos than actually attending in person due to the crowds and noise. Newcastle was quite outstanding, a different perspective with the wonderful harbour and ship models. 😊✔

Fantastic video from the other side of the world. Very impressive, me and my old Dad (89) watched this together and were thoroughly entertained. All the very best from England.
Being very familiar with the old and former station at Newcastle, I'm impressed by scope and accuracy of the depiction in the 1890's. It looks as through it's still a work-in-progress with space to depict the old loco-sheds and workshops.
same here.. studied at newcastle uni from 1971 and boarded in Newcastle East but lived in Sydney so commuted every weekend... passed thru Newcastle Station on the flyer sunday enening... ... and many afternoons wandering thru the goods yard
The layout also appeared at Rose Hill. It is an amazing piece of work.

Wow, the quality of layouts in this show is very good indeed. Congratulation to members of the respective clubs. Newcastle is superb work. Goulburn is very nice.

Will, I think the Generic HO Scale first appeared a number of years ago at Whitlam Centre Liverpool NSW by Coffs Harbour Modellers. I think they sold that layout some time back. They had a custom built van to transport the layout. Newcastle in N scale is exquisite.

I was bitterly disappointed that I couldn’t attend this year, so thank you for sharing. I’m only up to the Golburn layout, and already am enjoying it greatly!

Notable lack of VR locos and suburbans, great to see the work done creating Australian looking scenery, even if it was just clever selection of backdrops.
Thanks for sharing your great video Will , for people like me who can't make it to this exhibition as we live so far away ( in W.A. ) - it's great that people like you are able to share your views so that people like us can see what was on show ; the annual Perth model railway exhibition is held over the June long weekend ( which is usually the 1st weekend of June ) by A.M.R.A. W.A. at the Claremont showgrounds ; It'd be great to see you there someday if you can make it along.

Looks like a great show. Shame Brisbane can't do as good a job. Was at that one over the 6/7 May and the standard of modelling was much poorer.

Were there any unit's with graffiti, then the lay outs would look more like what we see around .
Not much! It’s something a lot of modelers won’t add unfortunately!
Some good looking model railways shown here, especially Goulburn, however, the video was ruined for me by the completely unnecessary background music. Take some guidance from most other similar model railway videos on UA-cam, very few of which have background music.

Thanks for the feedback, I get very few comments regarding the music. I feel I do have to keep it as other wise it’s a lot of dead air with people talking behind the camera.
If I do start to receive a majority of messages calling for now more music I’ll reconsider producing them in they way/at all!

Couldn’t watch all of it the music was monotonous why people put it in I don’t know.
Because other wise the option is silence, or people talking behind the camera. Sorry. There is a mute button if that helps and put subtitles on!
The Newcastle layout is amazing but the trains are FAR too fast! No horse dump on the road either and everything is clinically clean. Sorry; I feel guilty about criticising it!
