- Just a music video for live version of the song "Life Without You" by Stevie Ray Vaughan from the album "In Step"... Enjoy
Edit: I've found that this live version of "Life Without You" may come from the concert of 29 November 1989 at McNichols Sports Arena, Denver, Colorado
This song got me through prison when I was on hard times as a troubled young man when my grandmother passed away. Thank you Stevie, I grew up to be a good man, my grandma would be proud.
I'm so proud of you too God bless you always
I might be going to prison for false allegations and this song is speaking to me.... especially the wisdom he shares...
Here's to you brother. I was there too as a young man and never went back even though they told me I would. This song says it all emotionally.
The stuff that they leave out of our history books these days
Thank you George Washington
Two days ago my mom past away after a long fight against several health conditions. Over the last years she lost the pleasure of enjoying many of the things we take for granted: travelling, driving, walking, swimming and eventually even cooking for me, her son, which was something that made her so happy. In the very end she couldn't even see or speak anymore. I'm the only reason she kept fighting through the pain, and everything she was still able to do she did it for me, to make me happy. We didn't have anyone else in the family, it was just me and her. Now she's gone, nothing can bring her back but everytime I listen to this song it's like she's with me listening and singing, just like we used to 5 years ago, when she was still healthy. My Life Without You will be difficult but I know you're resting now, in peace. You did your job as a mother to raise me and prepare me for the world. She was so proud of me when I found the love of my life, when I got the job I wanted, when I told her of my accomplishments at work. And looking back, I'm so happy to have been there for her, preparing her food and watching movies together. If you're reading this, I just want to say to really take care of yourselves so you can be with the people that love you and need you the most. She didn't take care of herself and the inevitable happened. Give a hug to your parents right now and tell them how much you love them. Enjoy the little things. One day the value of these memories will be immense. ❤️
Amen and God bless!
Hugs from the distance...very very south of the continent
"I'm just asking you all to take care of yourselves so you can be there for the ones who need you and love you the most . . . and they need you all the time." Love that part. Gets me every time.
I know I do,ya with me?
Same here ❤️
Was there in a Concert in 1989 when he spoke about this. Praise God he repented, cleaned up, and sought the Lord Jesus Christ.
Met him once. Humble.
He makes his guitar actually cry. I love his speech during the middle to give his fans hope and to ask them to take care of themselves. He's the greatest ever and this is my favorite SRV song!!

@@Brucev7 🙏 It was like GOD, said, "Ok, Stevie, now." He gave him "time." A lot disagree with me, but, that's what I call, GRACE. I,too, am a believer. ✌️❤️ To you, my brother.

We need to tell the Gospel. Mark 16:15
I also spoke with Tommy Shannon, Bass Player. He told me how he and Stevie got tired of the Fast Lane, got on their knees, in a West TX Motel.

Me too, love him most of all
He played out of this world on this one!! Whoever saw this live was blessed!
I've listened to this countless times. He touches a spot that no one else can, and it happens every time. This is soul. A freight train of soul that hits you so hard, there's no coming back. And I'm okay with that, life is more fulfilled I got to experience this. I'd say music, but its more than that.
Agreed Wholeheartedly!
26 years later and we still cant get enough of the best. thank god for youtube so we can still watch and listen to the master at work. RIP stevie. life without you is such a drag.
john adams Agreed 😑
Damn Straight Boys Stevie allways diliver
This is the best version of this hands down. there were 43 misguided angels. I will continue to listen to this and shut off my brain for 13 mins and then play it on repeat with a whiskey and coke.
Whiskey is one of the substances he spoke of not using any more. At least not is excess!
i agree perfection
My favorite thing Stevie ever recorded. So moving.
Yea tin pan alley is up there...but I want this played when I die
If somebody told me I could only listen to 5 songs the rest of my life, this would be one of them. I've never been an addict, and I've never really been affected by anybody else in my life being one. But this song touches me deeply every time I hear it anyway.
Number 1 out of your 5 that's what this man means 2 me2 rest 4eva in my heart
Agreed brother! Well spoken!
It touched me so much I wrote out the lyrics to it and handed them out at my 22 yr old nephew Danny's Memorial Service..he himself was a self taught guitarist who was amazing...

Have loved Stevie since my cousin who was living in Austin at the time had a cassette of a local musician who played around the clubs.
Stevie Ray Vaughan
was that local musician I heard him over 30 years ago and fell in love with blues because of him.
RIP... SRV you will forever live in our hearts and souls.
@@janclay-strini357 Thanks for sharing your story. Sorry for your loss.
This song saved my life. This April will be 13 years since I last took a drink. It was time to come home from the party. Thank you, Stevie. You made all the difference.
Damn. Doesn't matter how many times I hear this version, I get something in my eye.
SAME HERE ALSO, my FRIEND!! 😢💘👌👍🤔
Definitely dusty in here bro
Thank you SRV for all the love you passed our way 🌷
Genius, music is flowing through him. Making a sound painting in real time with every little note. This is something much much bigger than those standards by which some of us are trying to analyze Stevie’s playing. Love you, Stevie. And thank you for all the joy and goosebumps you brought my way.
The best video on UA-cam, and it only has 72k views. Aren't we a lucky few!
Should be more ,righth

This rendition kills me slowly every time I hear it....my childhood...my teenage years and now a parent and going through personal changes in my life. This is not just music. It is life. It is love. Everything we are is love and we create magic because we are love. I
God I wish I could go back in time..😅😢 we lost a good one RIP.. SRV!!!!! I love his music 🎼🎵 never gets old..
Rhonda Northcutt me too
Stevie and Double Trouble opened for Joe Cocker in Canandaigua N.Y. on 7/20/90. His number one guitar; the beat up Strat "Lenny", was destroyed by falling sound equipment in soundcheck that day. One month later he died in Wisconsin, after performing with ALL the blues legends. My heart broke.
In 1992 the Arc Angels came to Rochester N.Y. which had Chris Layton in drums, and Tommy Shannon on Bass, with Doyle II and Charlie S.
I got to talk with Whipper for 15 min at the edge of the stage post show....
Yes, I wish time had a do over...
30 years today - Life without you...What a loss for the world.. Thank you for all your love, Stevie!
my dad Russell Castleberry played drums with Stevie in the oak cliff days. he died when I was five. so this song seems like a full circle moment. I love me some Stevie Ray..bad ass song.
We lived there too. But there wasn't SRV then..
god bless from ft worth o7
this song has gotten me through many a hard time. his speech keeps me going...
This has to be my favorite, awesome song, so much emotion....Life without you.....you are so missed Stevie Ray!
This song ,,is ,,,,The Truth
All these comments are like 10 yrs old and people are still commenting. His shit was real to say the least, thank you SRV for the kind love!
Badass jam. Just heard it on Pandora today. I almost thought he had Prince, Clapton, and Hendrix all playing in with him. But it was pure SRV Mastery!!!
I was at this show in Denver. It was an unbelievable experience to see him live. He connected with his audience and elevated to a spiritual level. I'll never forget this piece especially. He made it clear that we're all brothers here. He opened the evening and then played an encore with Jeff Beck. What a night.
Was there as well. The show was pretty much over after SRV. I went to see JB... Was blown away by SRV.
Thanks Stevie ,,,life without you will never be the same,,,fly on friend,,,,,
last cd I bought because of this song month later uncle passed away and this song played during funeral
25 years gone today,,, life aint the same without you Stevie.....

Not of this world. Jesus. I can hear this song on replay for hours/days/weeks on end. rest in power great one...
One of the few amazing musician's that went home to the Lord. R.I.P STEVIE RAY
I have been playing some old CD's, and came across this. And this song just freaking blew me away> And what is so sad, is the profound tribute he makes about LIFE at the 7 minute mark. Especially since he was taken to play with the Angels at the young age of 35. RIP SRV
That tribute saved my life. 12 years sober. Thank you, Stevie.
Angel's have waited for so long now ...take your place! .. thanks for all the LOVE you passed our way....Wow! So powerful a song. Sad as though he wrote his own eulogy. RIP SRV. Heaven is all the sweeter.with your beautiful soul there.
This jam is awesome so awesome it hurts!!!

Gone but never ever forgotten 🥀
Rock in Peace
So much soul, its amazing to think someone can play and tell a story through a guitar that clearly, miss you Stevie!

Ya, I know how It Is!
Stevie was & still Is great.
There's still Albums releasing out here everywhere with SRV no longer with us.
RIP SRV
We all should get emotional listening to this ,,,,,he is talking about each one of us
Bought this cassatte tape in prison after I found out my grandma died... You have no idea how I felt listening to this for the first time. No one will.
I will always love Stevie Ray!
Nobody could quite play the blues on the guitar like Stevie Ray, he had so many great mentors
This man could make a full, live auditorium full of grown-up men and women cry and cheer their hearts out with this! I know, I've been there, greatest musical experience you could ever imagine!
always missed, never forgotten
This is my all time favorite song. I wish I was alive to see him before he passed.
9:15 every time I hear this my soul leaves my body!
This is an awesome version..there will never be another SRV. Smh..
I'm a truck driver, and I listened this music thousands of times during sleepy nights on the wheel, so, thanks Steve for keeping me alive all this years.

This isn’t a Hendrix song
@@anthonya1272 you're right, I was thinking of Voodoo Chile...

I guess I got confused...

Me too. I was so close to giving up. It was time
To leave the party.

Wow! This is about the most soulful piece of guitar rock you'll hear, with a heart stopping sermon too.

''We will go back often to visit his music
But he will no longer come to see us
Our waiting then remains love fluxed
For the time to come, to when & where he can.'' -gilpin 4718
''There are artists who wrest us up, & place us into themselves!
These are the 'One's' who continue to wrest us up...
Even beyond their rests in peace.'' -gilpin 4718
Stay thirsty for These 'One's' my friends...
For are They not... The Very Pied Pipers of Heaven?
SRV plays the blues as he feels them, pure & real!!!
Thank you Stevie.
SRV drives nails into your soul - decades later
Played this 4 times in a row...
I've done my homework and I found this may come from the concert of 29 November 1989 at McNichols Sports Arena, Denver, Colorado.
Thanks. Always wondered where this priceless gem came from
@DON CRAMER Thank you. This is probably the best live version i've found of this song. Cool to know SRV played it on my birthday (even though i wasn't born yet).
Is there any video of it?
@@truusmuus7317 find the bootleg version on youtube "Life Without You - Live Atlanta" I think its better in some ways.
With jeff beck? I was at that show. Stevie opened. Blew the roof off.
I’ve been trying to find this online for months! Thank you
Lost my wife of 14 years to cancer in April and this song brings me to tears every time. Our 8 and 13 year old daughters cuddle up with me on the couch and look at pictures of mommy and we have a good cry.
Miss you Debb
U do know that Stevie Ray Vaughan is the first white man to win the academy award for the best blue's guitar stringer and he was and is that good..That is sensational and Albert King was a huge influence on Stevie Ray Vaughan..Albert King said that Stevie was the BEST! Stevie Ray Vaughan also great in Rock n roll ..Nobody plays that guitar strat in any way like the master himself and that's Stevie Ray Vaughan..RIP Stevie..you are a legend and you will be and are remembered all over the world..

Adrian Avila
Yes Adrian, seems he wrote his own eulogy when he wrote the most beautiful song of all ( borrowed) time with a heart full of LOVE and I'm sure heartache for Charlie. Seems good hearts attracted good hearts. I miss you SRV. I'm sure God has his reasons. Heaven wouldn't be complete with the soulful guitar and music of SRV. He was too good for this world. Thanks Adrian for Sharing your videos and making them personal. Keep spreading that LOVE around. I love this...tears, heartache, goodness, talent, testimony, goosebumps and all that LOVE!
Take your place!
