This is the same guitar Stevie Ray Vaughan played on the Tonight Show before he passed. It was the first SRV signature prototype before the signature line of guitars actually came out. Jimmy Vaughan gifted this guitar to Kenny, and he has been playing it ever since.
Kenny, we're all standing on the shoulders of giants. You do justice to Stevie. Many complain about the similarities but as a fellow guitarist we all borrow strongly from our heroes. It takes a lot out of a man to play the blues with heart and soul. You've got it in spades. EXCELLENT job.
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn up close n personal at Humboldt State University right before he left us wanting more. What an awesome awe I was in that night. If I close my eyes and listen to this Stevie is right there in front of me again. What a treat. Thank you Kenny.
Kenny wrote this and recorded it on his debut album in 94' He was 17 years old.. I remember hearing it when I picked up this album in 95 after it's release and was just blown away at the talent from this kid..
Thank you all for commenting on my video. At the time age 51, this was my first ever attempt at recording a live concert song from my phone and uploading it to youtube. The sound is pretty good for an iPhone 5SE. KWS has a ton of heart and soul (and Noah and the band is awesome), though this song resonates among all KWS to me. God Bless all of you, stay safe, live life
Well, you have it or you don't... and Kenny Wayne Shepherd HAS it! I have been listening to this young man for 20+ yrs... I have yet to be dissatisfied. #TrulyGifted #NuthinButTheBlues
Love this. I've been listening to KWS since college when Ledbetter Heights came out - GREAT RECORD. He's grown so much over the years - VERY UNDERRATED and not discussed as much as many of his peers.
I absolutely love this song - when he starts by saying “nothing but the blues”, I start getting chills up my spine. I want this played at my funeral (should I have one!!!)
Holy Toledo ! First time hearing this guitar maestro. He is a true craftsman of sublime melody, who never hits a showy or unnecessary note. I hear echoes of Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and also Robben Ford. I would pay any gate fee to see Kenny Shepherd and Robben Ford play on stage together, just to witness two consummate guitar heroes on the same stage.
Great performance and love the undeniable SRV feel! It's obvious his spirit was there when you consider Alpine Valley is about 20 miles or so from the Summerfest stage where this took place, While We Cry....still.
i had my eyes shut and if that wasnt perfect then i dont know what could, kenny that was awsome my friend, it brought tears to my eyes.when you coming to northern cal? anytime soon.
I'm really starting to appreciate the talent of Kenny wayne Sheppard. I've always known he was good ever since my mom told me about him in the 80s when he was only about 17 or so. I'm so glad to see him doing well. I've been playing guitar since 83 and i am amazed at this dudes talent
Crisp, vibrant frontal notes of Yellow Ledbetter with a palatable, full body character of Lenny and hints of Only God Knows Why. Great vintage! Should mature on the rack for years to come.
Man Kenny was playing a SRV Signature Strat , and he kept pouring his heart out every time he play this wonderful tune , this is a total homage to the Guitar Hero , love it so !
Luke Matheson Sounds like Stevie was passing the torch to Kenny Wayne , Stevie should have told the boy to keep his head down and take the color out of the Blues !
You, never come closer, to SRV but you and only You Kenny . You can Be the Next., SRV . And whit his drummer ,backing him up, to the level. Some wil never, get so close as you, there hole lifetime .............You, Kenny is so absolute best , so you must be the top 5 guitarist in the World Amazing
right on. close my eyes and think about the loved ones I've lost in the last three years. I can see them smiling and happy. but damn do I miss them. love ya mom, love ya Shaun boy!!!!
OMG This... saw this boy live in a small club in Vancouver in the 90's. This song - for me - is just really good musical sex in 6:10 minutes. Foreplay to climax; By the end of this song - played at the rite volume - I am wrung out. This is Just Good Guitar. end of sentence

Brings tears to your eyes hearing that guitar crying like this... Oh so soulful!!

It amazes me that he wrote this as a teenager. So incredible.
That is by far the very best tribute to SRV and his style while kws still keeps his there too,,,,nice and heartfelt

All i can say is. . .I HAVE BEEN SLAYED, and my heart and spirit moved. Thank you. You are liked and loved by me Kenny Wayne Shepherd. :)
Repeat. 24/7. It'll never get old.
Sweet, sorrowful and melodic with phrasing reminiscent of Hendrix, SRV, Clapton and Richie Sambora. Nicely done!
I never knew he could play like that. He's better than i ever thought.
Absolutely loved this! The kind of soulful music you can easily get lost in ...
Just had goosebumps for 9 minutes.
Sunning myself drinking a goo glass of red 🍷 and listening to this! Grateful for the beautiful things you in life!
Putting his heart into some beautiful guitar work.
Holy Shit. This was just sitting here? I find it now? Ahhh, better late than never and I hear Jimi in there. Ahhh. Post Christmas gift💟
Just goes to show that less really is more! Superb playing pure and heartfelt.
Such an absolutely beautiful song. Can’t get enough of this guy.
Love this. I've been listening to KWS since college when Ledbetter Heights came out - GREAT RECORD. He's grown so much over the years - VERY UNDERRATED and not discussed as much as many of his peers.
Kenny is getting in to my top list bands
Awesome talent
That was beautiful, he took a little time and built a solo, and it paid off!
I absolutely love this song - when he starts by saying “nothing but the blues”, I start getting chills up my spine. I want this played at my funeral (should I have one!!!)
I feel exactly the same way
I pray they will not have to bury a heart like yours! Cold Chills...me too!
Might be sooner than we thought... I love this song as well, heavy SRV influenced.
YellowLedBetter on SRV feel is something that makes really cry.
Kenny, Pearl Jam, Stevie, blues feeling, all together is magic, indeed!

I've been enjoying it for a long time and it's getting better and better

Probably one of the most underrated bands in North America.

Feeling+talent= this guitar solo
This is where I come when I need to shed some negativity.
KWSB is my remedy.
A song to trip in your mind and relax.
Saw him live many years ago supporting the Eagles in huddersfield in UK and this was the highlight of his set
This is a Bad Little Dude..I like his style very much..
Something of “Lenny” in it! One of my favorite of him! Great playing and tone, beautiful feeling too 👍👍👍💙🎸💙
a lot of emotions in a pocket of notes playing so well with the heart
Great performance and love the undeniable SRV feel! It's obvious his spirit was there when you consider Alpine Valley is about 20 miles or so from the Summerfest stage where this took place, While We Cry....still.

To me if there ever was a love song....this is it. No need for words just pure wonderful sound.
Don't compare this young man to Stevie Ray. I had the privilege of seeing SRV live 3 times. And KWS as well. Every great guitarist is unique.
Extraordinary ! I love Kenny and this song is excellent !
Man Kenny was playing a SRV Signature Strat , and he kept pouring his heart out every time he play this wonderful tune , this is a total homage to the Guitar Hero , love it so !
Kenny could be playing a $50 pawn shop Squire and he'd still sound just as good.
It's the Indian and not the arrow what does the killin.
Luke Matheson
Sounds like Stevie was passing the torch to Kenny Wayne , Stevie should have told the boy to keep his head down and take the color out of the Blues !
