I think It’s great that you set a local artisan on restoring a part of your chateau Good for the community around you
actually I don;t understand how you don;t think Dan and Nick aren't part of the local community. i don;t know about Brian.. how long he has lived in France or if he is permanently based elsewhere. In addition, all the supplies for the build - wood etc is from local shops.. even if it is a chain.. its all going into the local community. Also, not sure where the plants came from. Just because Dan is British doesn;t mean he isn;t supporting the local community you see. Just saying.
@@mariahoulihan9483 Brian has a vlog: Brian's Life In France. I think he's said he's been in France about five years? But my memory is unreliable, so you should watch the vlogs.
@@mariahoulihan9483 Oh dear me !
@@mariahoulihan9483both statements can be true.
I’m an 82 year old grandmother and I look forward to watching you guys - makes my day. Stay safe. Brilliant work to be so proud of.
Me too
Same here, 85, great grandmother, my best channel, love those boys!❤❤❤
Sasssssy young lady !!🎉🎉🎉🎉
IDADE, É IGUAL A VINHO, QUANTO MAIS VELHO, MELHOR.
I am simply gob-smacked at how far this project has come. I thought you were insane at the beginning... now, I am in awe. Thanks for the journey.
Doing it alone was insane. With 3-4 people, it is more manageable, but still a massive task.
Me too!
Me too, I just shook my head & said, Oh, no, Dan, what got into you!
" I thought you were insane at the beginning"...I am even more convinced of Dan's insanity now. No sane person could accomplish this.
The brick arches are lovely, and that they are built using the turret bricks is very special to me. This channel is one of the few that I avidly look forward to and never speed through any posts. Thanks for the opportunity to look into life rebuilding a beautiful Chateau.
Three things I noticed since Nick is around regularly:
1. He laughs more / talks more / smiles more.
2. He seems to be way fitter than at the beginning
3. He is the only one who calls Dan "Daniel". It feels like there is so much respect or some sort of fatherly overlook.
I just love how not only the chateau develops but also the crew building it. But I must admit: I miss orange pants man!
Nick makes the rounds of all the Brit expat chateau projects in France.
Stonework looking good and the rest is going to plan great teamwork again
@@Bobrogers99OH.. REALLY. I KNOW. HES MR. FOREST DAD. AT LALANDE!! BUT THIS YEAR HE TOOK THE HUGE RESTORATION PROJECT WITH DAN. AND NICK. IS QUITE
KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT CONSTRUCTION. I THINK NICK IS PRETTY QUIET. BUT IM SURE HE AND DAN AND BRIAN TALK OFF CAMERA. ABOUT PROJECT. ISSUES & THINGS. ALL THE BOYS R. PRETTY IN TUNE WITH EACH OTHER!! ..🎉....LIKE A FINE TUNED PIANO!😂
analysis? ... mmm interesting
This is the most addictive channel I know.
You guys are powerhouses, each one of you. Week in, week out, acchieving splendid, almost unbelievable, accomplisments!!
The end resut in those stone walls are perfection. Make a video just about this most skilled professional, will you? He deserves it 👌!
@@magdamundt9483 Its a great channel, if you like this try "perkins builder brothers"
The stonework by the mason is a thing of beauty!
Just got me to thinking how they did all this many many years ago without the modern day equipment? With the modern day equipment it is still daunting! Exhausts me to watch you guys work! Great work though.
This is so awesome the way the Chateau is taking shape and looking so much like the original must have looked. Brian, Nick and Dan and now the mason are really getting things done!
Great job guys. The brick layer sure knows his job! I love the arches!
How dare you drive me to the brink of Insanity with how fast you guys are putting all this together! Impressed as always, you guys are just amazing at what you do in Dan you're planning skills and execution are phenomenal. Round of applause for everybody!
Can't wait to see when it's finished.
Why? The beauty of it is to watch it being done. We enjoy the journey, and we are not in a hurry!
I feel that!
I have an unfinished patio that I started when they were on the first floor 😂😂😂😂
Here’s to the unsung heroes of this project….the black buckets!
I sang about them when Dan was carrying them up the ladder, but the song went unheard.😊
That's what I thought too. If any company needs to sponsor Dan, it's whatever company makes those black buckets.
My late grandfather (carpenter/builder) and late father (house and furniture restorer) would have loved your awesome channel.
Brian and Dan - "By the end of the week. Yeah, by the end of the week."
Nick - "What week?"
Remarkable progress, congrats. It was amazing to see so many viewers yesterday make a case for restoring those gorgeous Art Deco tiles which bejeweled the tower. This charming building which you have brought back to life has cast a wide spell!
Brian needs to adopt the little black pup. She adores him.
Brian did take one of the pups. That’s him.
Excellent stuff. It’s wonderful to see the rapid progress. Well done the 4 Musketeers !!!!
Watching Brian carry the beam up the stairs I saw visions of a Chateaux calendar - 12 photos of great workers doing amazing things with trees and wood and ropes and...
Great idea!
I would buy that calendar! Wonderful idea!
I would buy it
Great idea!! Don't forget the puppies.
Don't forget the dogs, the puppies for that calendar!!!
The stone work really beautiful.
Greetings Nick, Brian and Dan
Stone mason is so talented. He has done an awesome job on those arches and the stone work. To the dream team of Dan,Nick and Brian, you men rock! What an astounding amount of work you men accomplish on a daily basis. 👍🏻👍🏻 See ya tomorrow 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Give that Brick Layer a COOKIE!!! He deserves one for the quality work he performed!!!
Roof and basement coming together simultaneously, what an amazing achievement, great job.
Nick... you never fail to amaze me. God bless you. 🧡
Nick is a total genius!
I’ve been watching this from the start it’s truly the best thing I’ve “ stumbled upon” on UA-cam the fact that you guys are filming and doing it whilst building on a daily basis is brilliant 🍻 I am an engineer and my grandfather said when I was an apprentice a man designed and built it in the first place !! so why can’t a man and his team rebuild it better … that’s what you guys are doing ….it wont be long before you have lots of time in the dry workshop Dan
Great work by everyone, the stonemason is very skilled- good to have him involved too.
Moving right along. I’m downright giddy anticipating when the renovations start on the inside 🤗
Me too! With a little concern that it means that the project is moving along and may not be around forever!
Oh Dan will be around forever he and the crew are brilliant at following the energy❤
❤❤🎉 when ever work on the inside start I am going to have a glass of the bubbly🎉🎉❤😂😂
Beautiful masonry! Cant wait to see the outside of the chateau sandblasted.
You deserve a medal Dan for pure foresight and all of you for your tenacity and brute strength. I’m in awe of you all. Exiting times ahead. ☺️
Every day I´m waiting for your video.Your job is incredible.I admire you.Hugs for yours
The stone mason is a talented craftsman. Dan, Nick, and Brian, you make cutting, hauling, and setting lumber into place look effortless. I look forward to each video.
And here we go...the last roof....what an achievement..ghosh we are so proud of you guys.. lifting those beams you make look effortless..❤
Glad to see the bricks being repurposed in the chateau.
Working with these great machines is even more fun. It's really crazy what you do there every day. All your bones must be aching in the evening. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow❤❤❤
You have no idea how much I appreciate what you’ve done the past couple years. To be able to escape with you watching the restoration has been priceless. I’m excited for the day when you start to put windows in.
Great job. So glad you have a professional stone mason to work on the foundation! Will you have a cover on the tower by Thursday? The forecast is for rain.
I never thought I would get emotionally attached to a chateau. I so look forward to every video.
Yea for all the work the stone mason is doing. You guys be careful on the top too.
Each step is an amazing accomplishment. I've been watching since day one and haven't missed one vlog.
Me too, even before the chateau 😊
Me too. Met Dan on Stephanie's Chateau Diaries ❤
Yay! A room finished. So exciting. Just amazing. Love the stone work. I just can’t wait to see a room finished and decorated 😀
The stone walls are awesome and the brick arches are beautiful! It is a very big deal to have that room finished. All the best Dan!!!
Looks amazing can’t believe one room finished,😮 the stones are beautiful ❤
You have got your money’s worth out of that lift system to the top. It saved you an unbelievable amount of work. Kudos!
Amazing work, you fellas. I'm full of admiration. The mason has done a phenomenal job, great to be recycling materials .
This is so very great to watch u great guys to see this great build.
"Which week?" 😂 Gotta love Nick's optimism 😊
You are a genius with your calculations and designs.
It's absolutely fabulous, it is a big deal. Great job gentlemen 🎉
Your stone mason did a fantastic job. Do be careful with raising the roof. So excited for you 😍😘
I have no idea of Nick’s age, but I envy his energy level. My gosh he’s a powerhouse. ❤

I’ve noticed how the work on this chateau, the camaraderie, and encouragement from others has really elevated Nick’s spirit. He is different now. 🎉
It is very exciting Dan, my goodness you’ve come such a long way on your own and then with the help of your friends. I’m sure everyone is enjoying the progress as much as I am. Thank you Dan for sharing. Take care all of you.🙏💝❤️🇦🇺
The chateau is starting to look amazing with all the work you guys have accomplished
You must be so excited and super proud of what has been achieved!! Stonework is sublime❤lovely to see an extra pair of skilled hands to finish off so elegantly but your work together is the real showstopper for me! Such camaraderie is wonderful to see! My grandpa was a carpenter in a country town and his houses still remain. He died young from TB but his legacy remains allways❤
Your quickie method on the floor joists has given me an idea how to improve the design of my garden gates, all of which need to be rebuilt. They should be both stronger and lighter.
Keep the puppies safe (and put the jewels back.)
Ooh…love that pop up plug thing.
Got mine in Lidl.. middle aisle special.
The sandblasting looks great.. This is progressing fast
When Brian opened his sack and the semin went everywhere, that was gold
A man spreading his semin everywhere, tut, tut
Come on now… if your watching then hit the LIKE button!!!!
Always
Exactly
I hit the like button then watch as I know Dan and the team never disappoint.
I'm trying to hit the like button but nothing happens. Sorry.
3@@ashley-pi1rfsame with me as well, I clicked it before I watched and after I watched and nothing, I don't get it? 🤔
Incroyable! 5.8m heigh from the top of the wall - the height of an average two story house!
Saddened to see the embellishments go. So much of the chateaus personality went when those were taken.
They'll be reused, somewhere. Among the Chateau Restorers, there are chatelains who create ceramics. I'm almost certain that if that particular shop in Paris isn't still in operation, the ceramic chatelaines who would know how to reproduce any ceramic decor, down to the exact aquamarine green paint and precise kiln temperature.
Every day just amazes and excites me to see the jobs accomplished. The stone mason is great addition to your awsome team and i look foreward to see his work. Hugs to my favorite guys !
The ”Dan is Leaving” vlog from Lalande popped up on my feed last night - wow the strain and sheer physical effort of the last 2 years are showing Dan!!! You looked like a fresh-faced kid, now you look a bit more battle-scarred. You have been working such long days in bitter cold and rain and searing heat, but somewhat gentler times are ahead as you move to finishing the interior. You have created such a caring and supportive band of followers. 🇦🇺
Yay!!! Bottom and top❤❤❤❤, basement walls look so clean and nice😊🎉🎉
I love that you three turn into teenagers at the brand name of the cement. The arches and basement wall looks so nice! I'm glad you had the stone mason to help.
I swear I knew that was going happen! Boys! 🤣
"Twelve an' an 'ahf" chef's kiss.
Turret, turret, turret.!!
Dan great you hired local guy to help/work. He's done an amazing job!
The mason is truly magnifique! Amazing transformation...! Cheers guys!
Fantastic job as always plus you got Nick and Brian a dream team together
Plus you csn see you gel on together well ❤🎉 loved watching see yer tomorrow 😊😊
I can remember when you first went into the basement. It is such a transformation.
Great to have a bit of a longer vlog tonight Dan. I had quite a few giggles from you all tonight. Sleep well lad K🇬🇧❤️❤️
You know you're going to end up cladding the turret swinging on a rope in a high wind, don't you 😆
So mutch progress in so little time! I'm looking forward to see what going on the rest of the week!💋
I hope you are reconsidering the Art Deco tiles. They need to go back where they were IMHO.
It might be difficult to get the couple that broke custom-made so they match.
I've been watching this show since it started, and usually get it about noon PDT, but recently, I've been scheduling appts around the show. It makes my day, and I can cheer out loud to/for you without people nearby looking at me. Well done, men!!
"It's all exciting stuff!"
So happy you have the tools now Dan to achieve your dream! To see this Chateau from start to where you are now is just amazing! The 3 muskateers strike again! Stone masonary work...wowsers! ❤
It will be really interesting to see how you use these rooms once finished. You guys are amazing craftsmen...and I love this community. So positive and supportive.
Wow, the basement wall looks fantastic. Did you just say, one room will be finished?! OMG! How exciting!
LMAO!!! For me it seems your videos are even more quietly exciting and enjoyable. The editing pace is perfect as usual.
The stonework is amazing I wish we could meet him. The roof is going to be beautiful.
All the work is super neat and the arches are beautiful.
Full confession; I am addicted to watching each and every episode. You guys are so inspiring. You give me a boost to keep going with my life chores and projects!
Happiness to have such a cool stone mason doing a brilliant job❤
It just gets better and better.
Well done guys.
That was a treat! It’s becoming a thing of beauty again!
I hope the mason can encourage the purchase of a mortar bag. Looks great! It won't be long until the slate is applied to the roof. I wonder if every room will be sand blasted? I hope a break room with warmth, microwave, frig., is being planned for winter.
Love it that u were able to use the turret bricks for the arches. Wow a finished room… major accomplishment! Exciting!
Best hour of the day. 🙂
Hey Dan, Does the mason have a name? He really is the 4th Musketeer. I think of him as Mason... Awesome progress. I look forward to chateau time every day!
4th Musketeer is Orange pants man, Calvin ❤
@@christikapa3856 Of course! Haven't seen him in so long I'd forgotten. Ok. Mason = 5th Musketeer.
Using the best of materials
You cannot fail
Onwards and upwards
Dan, boys will be boys ….
The masonry man has completed a phenomenal job, well done! Dan, you Nick and Brian are really doing a great job, unbelievable how fast the “trio” are working to get the turret done! So impressive!
Until tamorra ……
I’ll get the bubbly on ice one space nearly completed. I’ll be watching. Love from NZ
Back at the office with your popup power socket and Mafell wheel of death

11 mins well done Dan!
So happy for you, you’re almost there at the finish line.
To think that the first room in the Chateau will soon be complete ... WOW!! That's an amazing achievement, Dan & Team (including the stonemason)! 🎉👏
Every episode more impressed!!!❤
Another productive video thank you Dan you guys are just powering on. Nice job by the guy sandblasting and bricking up the arches, fixing the wall and pointing it. Looks amazing in that room now
