Restoring A $7,000 Mansion: Finishing The Basement Rebuild (Pouring Foundation!)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 вер 2024
- My 1917 mansion's basement needs a complete rebuild. In an attempt to make the basement safer, stronger, and livable, over the past several months we have been rebuilding virtually everything and today we are working on one of the final steps, which is to pour a brand new foundation wall, and pour concrete for the kitchen support wall to be built on.
If you really enjoy this video, no need to worry, there is an incredible amount of mansion to be built! There will be many more videos to come!

Keep believing in your talent. You’ve got this!
Love Cooper cam! I have hope
Nice job on the trucks, Cooper ! 👍
The new fenders look so nice. Great job.
Watching from
North Carolina! You all are amazing at what you do! Thank God for our Farmers!❤
Yea!!!!!!great job Cooper and Zack!, Cole and Roman! Love your channel! Thank you!
The new format is great! Daddy Cornstar cameos too!
Cooper is doing a great job 💪
This content is truly inspiring. Keep going!
Cooper was right he got EVERYTHING painted.
These guys are some of the hardest working guys on youtube! The way they do all the work on the farm and house and still be able to churn out nearly daily content is just amazing! I love your videos so much! ❤
It makes me so happy to see you cleaning the cement mixer
Wonderful job Cole 👏 and Roman
Anyone else enrolled in Coopers mechanics class? Started by taking Cole’s farming class. Ended up in some bonus classes.
Follow the monies
Cooper needs to have his own show.
No Cooper needs a hair cut.
Yeah, I fast forward past mullet man.
He did if he doesn’t still.
I agree❤
@@rich40701 I also fast forward it
Corn silk Cooper and Zack did a great job on those trucks! Glad you guys are making so much progress in the basement too.
I usually install pig tail bolts while the pour is wet to bolt the plates down at framing. No labour drilling bolts later. This process is such a blast.
Incredible work! You are so lucky to have Roman there - you guys work so hard - and I love how you both keep everything clean and organized!
I love the new way you are doing your videos now cutting scenes between your brother and yourself🎉
I really liked when the box store started carrying 60 pound bags of concrete, I’m now ready for them to carry 40 pound bags
I’m surprised as much concrete you are mixing that you haven’t bought a MudMixer.
I love the way Roman’s mind works. He’s a thinker, problem solver and a hard worker. Reminds me of my Dad’s ability to do anything he set his mind to. My Dad was from Marshalltown, Iowa. Don’t know what part of Iowa you guys are in but it’s beautiful country. All of you are doing a great job. Can’t wait to see the house completed.
Cole you an Roman never
Cease to amaze
Me.😊
Love the back and forth between Cooper and Cole. Working on the trucks was a beast. I love that red truck. It has character ❤ I will be happy to see this basement done. Anxious to see the upstairs started. This house is going to be solid when completed. Everyone have a great rest of the week. Harvest time coming soon.❤❤
Cooper knows how to get the fabrication jobs done 👍
Cole, have your editor add a compressor/limiter to the audio when editing. Because you have plugs in you tend to shout. Without having to change your behavior you can fix this simply in the mix.
A compressor/limiter either free or from Waves software will solve this instantly every time.
Cheers!
Yeah, some people mentioned several videos ago how they couldn't keep watching because they couldn't stand how much Cole yells. Ever since then, I've noticed how much he yells also. I'll keep watching, but not enjoying the yelling. I hope your suggestion is noticed and utilized.
Yeah unfortunately either need to pull the earplugs when narrating or correct it in post production. The yelling is making good videos unwatchable without manually changing volume every few seconds.
Good advice but seems he doesn't care. Every video people make comments about his elevated voice. Seems he does it on purpose. He says he couldn't do this without his viewers but when his viewers ask him to stop talking loud, he does nothing about it.
@@dustinbaker531It's a really simple fix in edit. I'm guessing his sister edits everybody's, somebody tell her about audio compressor software plug ins, please!
@@oldasrocks9121 Yeah depending on the production software a compressor, click the auto volume leveling, knock some of the highs off of his voice. He has got to try something. As you said simple should take very minimal effort.
Love the sledge hammer editing. Great job to the editor
Give Cooper his own channel!
Cooper had his own channel called Magic Mullet. Don't know if he still keeps up with it. It might have been too hard to maintain the level of content for a whole video, so interspersing the Cole videos with the Cooper cam is pretty brilliant.
Magic Mullet, OH, I thought it was Mullet Man. I got it wrong
where can i send cooper some safety glasses lol. i’m a distributor.
There is a PO box in the description if you're serious, lol
Love to see the progress! Keep up the good work, and the good wholesome vibes!
3:19 the fast hammering is fantastic
Always so busy. Ready for harvest shortly!
Under the stairs is a great Christmas ornament closet spot.
Cooper, If That Truck Went Through Inspection In IL. With That Setup, It Would Fail!! Good Job On Those Fenders!!
The technical term for a board standing on the side is called, "A Whaler" in terms of bracing up.
What the heck did Cooper cam transport me back to the 1970s business in front party and back hairstyle holy cow looks pretty good on him actually considering he's young
For Cooper, you can resharpen those blades. I had a bunch of blades that needed sharpening sitting on my bench and decided to get the Harbor Freight sharpener. Took me less than 10 minutes to sharpen each blade. 3 blades and the sharpener cost $45. Win Win and easy peasy, whatever that means. I don't work for Harbor Freight.
Cole, hold on a minute, don't listen to anyone you says you're SCREAMING or whatever, that shows your enthusiasm and excitement, I was young once and it shows you have GOOD ENERGY!!! KEEP IT UP!!!👍
Love watching all four of you work! Everyone gives more than their all!
Love the cooper cam…. A practical artist
Love the video editing 🎉
Such a great channel!! I never miss an episode 😊❤❤❤
I think Cole is just excited! Plus he often has ear protection in which causes you to want to speak louder. Turn down your volume if it bothers you!
Cake decorating is next skill you need Cole!
Can we get an update on the water flow from the drain system?
Looking good!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for the update señor!!!😊
I love the yelling!!! Don’t change nothin Cole!
So exciting to come so far!
when cleaning your grill make certain that none of the bristles come off, the last thing you want is to have surgery because you swallowed a piece of rusty metal
Cole would be tired after the intro, so enthusiastic. Poor Cooper doing all that grunt work on the semi's, only one helper Zack just like Cole currently.
Oh I forgot Roman is a Superman, can do the work of four!
😎 Cooper you have a nice voice 👍
I like that you put Cooper And friend in the video.
Cole you are lucky Roman is in really good shape from arm wrestling ,Not many people would work that hard. Easier to clean the grill when still hot
Why ain't you a racist?
Nice work. Enjoyable as always.
Turn your volume down.
Take a hike... Get it. Hahaha
I wonder if Cole took the earplugs out he would notice how loud he is.
Nice move with the brush on the mixer!
Looks fantastic!
Copper
You have a horizontal bandsaw. Start to use that piece of equipment instead. One of my best friends is a welder. Anytime we're building stuff in his shop we always use the horizontal bandsaw. A horizontal bandsaw is so much easier, safer and cleaner than a metal chop saw.
Looking great gentlemen
I love building the house show and now the farm trucks show. I can't wait to see the corn and soy beans. 🥸
Getting to enjoy the Cooper parts the best. He isn't yelling at us constantly. PLEASE TAKE OUT THE EAR PLUGS! Seeing Cooper working on the trucks is a nice break from the basement.
the inmune system comment was so funny, and actually very accurate 🤣
I imagine y'all will be glad to have the basement done.
love this episode Cole!
I wish the addition to the house was a house for Cooper. He needs a house too. Then the cousins could grow up together. It doesnt seem fair that only Cole inherited a house.
Believe Cole bought the house
They're brothers not cousins. Lol.
@@MaryLWhitney-oz6qm he inherited it from his grandfather.
Congratulations guys, that is such hard hard and time consuming must feel amazing to move onto other things
Winter is coming very soon, and I sure hope you have those footers all below the frost line before the freeze thaw cycle starts.
Really enjoy your channel. Variety of content.
Great job finishing up the concrete. Now you should pour the floor after finishing up the saport beams. Then, you will be able to start the next step. It's going to be very difficult to pour the floor after you build the theater. Right now, a pump truck is able to poor your floor. Nice getting a few farm updates again.
22:07 - Zach showing too much crack? LOL
dude, don't use a wire brush to clean your grill. If you do anyway, be sure there's no wire debris left behind. Another good show!
Wonderful job guys...❤😊
Now I can say I was there when Cole the Cornstar and his sidekick poured their final concrete in the basement! Well done fellas and you too Cooper and Zack. Sorry Cole I don't usually complain but, could you please stop yelling at us? Please. At least have your editor lower the volume. I love how you are excited but if I forget to lower the volume it blasts me out of my seat!
So happy that’s done! See you in 2 days - hopefully! 😅😂❤
I have the evolution saw. I use the blade that came with it and one bought from Harbor freight. When I need to change a blade, I swap in the spare and take the dull blade to my local saw sharpening shop to get sharpened and it becomes the new spare. Sharpening is pretty cheap too.
So zach is a plummer too 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the blur
A relative of mine hired a husband and wife to paint an old farmhouse with wood siding. As they were scraping the house getting ready to paint, the wife was noticing cracks and kept asking her husband if she should caulk this crack or that crack. He got tired of her asking, so finally he told her to just caulk every crack she sees. A little while later, the husband was doing something where his crack was showing, so the wife took the caulking gun and squeezed caulk into his crack. LOL
Cooper, do put that truck on the road. Please!!
That room you are planning with the electrical box in it, you should plan on keeping any water stuff 4’ away from the electrical stuff. That will keep you up to code.
Your watching coOoooLe the cornstar I had my first chomp today my wife bought it for me jalapeño beef very good highly recommend ❤
if you vibrate the concrete too much the aggregate all goes to the bottom, which is bad, so you only want to vibrate it so much
I love watching you guys. Your so funny.
Hey Neva you don't need a dishwasher Cole knows how to clean up 😂
I switched to the Diablo Cermet blade on my Evo saw. I busted a few teeth on the original Evo blade so I went with the Diablo blades. So far so good on a lot of angle, square, and flat steel stock.
My local saw sharpener charges 3 bucks a piece to put on new teeth. Fix the busted teeth and sharpen the rest. MUch much cheaper than replacing the blade.
Cooper anything with carbide teeth made for metal but don't force it when you cut they will last a long time
For the ties of ur form. To make 2x4s strongest make them into a T shape. Like u did on the forms. Do a tie the same way. Much stronger than 2 individual board as long as u connect them well. Also for a stronger stake put it behind the board, instead of next to it.
Cheers thanks for the video.
Love your videos watching from uk
Use to work with a guy who accidentally ran over his boy with a service truck. Put him inside and neither him or his wife realized he snuck out. Horrible. Always have to keep aware and triple check happens to anyone. Stay safe around equipment!
Your concrete mixer has paid for itself.
The continuous one he rented before would also have paid for itself to be honest.
What is it with Cole eating the same thing day after day? It used to be boiled rice with browned hamburger and beans. Now it's pork steaks/chops and the same vegetables from Roman's garden.
I would eat the same veggies every day from Roman's garden. Regarding pork steaks and chops, remember Iowa is the pork producing capitol of the world.
Remember OSB absorbs water so do not use OSB as a concrete form when you are pouring concrete into a form. Use either steel concrete forms or 3/4 inch plywood.
Cooper nice work on truck, could add back up alarm.
You better get that concrete poured down in the basement before winter comes
Hand saw concrete bags in half, through the middle. Pour into mixer 30 lbs. at a time. Much easier.
Cole the head cam made my wife have to leave the room from motion sickness, please keep camera stationary or we won’t be able to watch you guys anymore . We love watching you guys.
Hi watching from a rainy day, in Traverse City mi 🎉😊
yeah!! I love your videos!!
Cole put more effort into the temporary concrete forms than the original builders put into framing the house.
Well done guys 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙💙
There is no need to tap the forms or use the sawzall, when using the stinger!
Previous experience, and too much vibration also causes your forms to bulge/push out.
You should had return this poor mixer! The rental one was way better. It would had paid itself in time saving to mix. The rental one was the way to go.
Foundation wall stopped at that spot because that is where the builders got the horses in and out of the basement - just like your motorized tools of today. Descent video and of course, Dad Cornstar videos' are a little better.
U guys are so awesome I hope one day i can fixed my home can't do what you doing because I'm renting but my house is way smaller the yours ❤
