I have been a fan for years and actually bought my first cosori based on your recommendations. Then I bought the tempered glass one, both now have new homes with my family. I now have a 15 litre Tower oven style air fryer and Ninjas health grill. My goodness, that machine is a genius, it cooks chicken in roughly 8 minutes with the probe on 230 c and it comes out so so juicy. I would never would have believed it, if I hadnt done it.. I must admit I was biting my nails during the cooking time lol. Shame you cant get one of those, they have 6 functions. I am sure lots of people rave on about their machines, but the XL health grill with the cooking pot, is amazing! Much love, from England x
Cathy, thank you for your informative and MUCH needed episode. I quite enjoyed the episode. Clearly you are very experienced and knowledgeable. An instant read thermometer is as essential to the kitchen of today as a spatula. May I add a funny thing I noticed in this episode, “chicken,” the amount of times repeated is so funny. I counted 56 times. You should have everyone check to see if I miscounted and that way they’ll watch it twice and learn more from you. Have a joyful day.
As someone who has been cooking for most of his life, and in several restaurants too, I'm always amazed how people think cooking with a thermometer is new. I have always cooked with a thermometer and it has always been a required tool at restaurants. You don't need a big bulky instant read one at all the analog ones work just as good and are small enough to fit in your pocket. In fact all my chef shirts have a small pocket on the sleeve that is made to hold a thermometer.
Hi Cathy!!! I liked this video. I'm always scared to cook meats in my AF. I'm going give your method a try. I do have your Cheat-Sheets!!! Thanks for all these good tips for cooking chicken...Great Video!!!...🦋
Thank you!! Actually I didn't have the problem of dried chicken but it kept being super undercooked and I ended up doing a total time of probably an hour, when it should've taken 20ish mins. Lesson learned I will now be cooking thighs and drumsticks separately.
I think I will start the pounding of my chicken breasts. I don't recall if they had been dry, but good to know. And while I know about doing the resting for steaks and meat, I hadn't really thought about it for chicken. I'm also going to start paying attention to that too. Thanks for the reminders.
Please made a post about how the different presettings on a Dual Blaze work, especially what the heating elements do for each. Maybe one has reduced heat on top or bottom, for example. Many thanks!
@ Thank you, but that didn’t really answer my question. What I want to know is, are there different power settings for the 2 heating elements for each of the pre settings? For example, I expect broil setting only uses the top element (on high), but how do the heating elements work on the rest of them?
I reheated some chicken strips that we had made in the regular oven. The preset for reheat on my ninja AF 100 was at 350° in a 4 quart basket, for 15 minutes!!! It only takes about eight minutes. It’s a good thing. I didn’t just blindly follow that setting and leave them in there that long because they would have been burned!!!
Rule of thumb I have found works with all meats: Soak the meat in brine (water saturated with brown sugar and salt) for a few hours or overnight before cooking. I find chicken (such as a whole chicken) doesn't even need seasoning at all. For pork and steaks I like to sear the outer surfaces in an oiled frying pan before chucking them in the air fryer. The brine makes it harder to overcook too. Stays nice and juicy.
I agree with you on bone in chicken thighs and wings. I make those weekly. I even learned to make an entire chicken in air fryer from you. But chicken breast and steak, nope for us. I never cook chicken breast to USDA recommendation! It's awful. But you do you.
Hi, is there a chance to get recipes of yours free since only know am starting to learn to use air fryer. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions and notes, love Adna
My question is: when using the Cosori Dual Blaze and one of your chicken (or any recipe) should I select Air Fry that utilizes both burners or an option for only one burner?
😂 😂 😂 Yes a bit of a test! Thanks Pat! I was adding timestamps and thought, "goodness sakes I said chicken a lot!" so I decided to make a game out of it. ☺️
Quick question... I got the Cosori fryer based on your earlier review. The handle has fallen off of the basket. Is this a common issue? I never have cooked on hi temp, and use it 4 or 5 times a week. In about a year, the plastic on the handle has just fallen to pieces, letting the bolts fall out.😢 is this common?
Oh no! Which model is this? I know it was an issue for some with the Pro II - but I've used that model for years with no issue. :( Granted I don't use it as much more now because I like the turboblaze better. ua-cam.com/video/YRCO_fWvGpM/v-deo.html - You could reach out to their customer service, it might still be under warranty?
Mine comes out fine. I don't understand why they are getting bad chicken. I cook 4 bone-in chicken thighs for 18-22 minutes at 390°F and they come out moist and great. 🐔 If they didn't, I'd be back to the conventional oven regardless of the grueling clean-up.
I think it's just a marketing gimmick and it is likely a convection oven... Food will take longer to cook in it (as opposed to the air fryer units in my videos)
I've done all kinds of meat in my Air Fryer Oven...Lamb...Steak...Fish...Beef...Chicken...Pork. All of it has come out perfect. 💯😋
Yessssss!!!

Cathy Yoder, you are THE WOMAN!!
Ha ha, thank you! ☺️
This is such a helpful video. Dry chicken has always been a problem for me, especially since my husband likes his chicken even more moist than I.
Have you tried marinating it in buttermilk? Or milk with a little vinegar? For about a half an hour.
Chicken Thighs in the air fryer are in fact the absolute bomb! Cant get enough..and so stinking fast!
Yesssss!

Thanks for the chicken and tools recommendations. I was so focused on the message I didn't count the times you said chicken.
😂 You're welcome!

Great tips!
Glad you think so!
are you planning on testing/buying the new Cosori 10 litre/quart twin fry ?
Not sure yet - I haven't seen it available in the US.
@empoweredcooks going down well here in UK, might not be compatible for you though it's 2200 watts and 240 volts

Yep! My channel has hundreds of recipes!
My question is: when using the Cosori Dual Blaze and one of your chicken (or any recipe) should I select Air Fry that utilizes both burners or an option for only one burner?
Yes you can! Just no need to flip (although I recommend still stirring if you are doing chopped chicken and veggies).
Thank you! @@empoweredcooks
Do you have Vegan recipes for Air fryers?
Yes watch this one! ua-cam.com/video/6RKg6ipdIx8/v-deo.html
😅 You said chicken 🐓 57 times! ( Yes I did read the description box. Was is a test to see how many of us do? 😉)
Great tips as always, thank you.

Hallo
Gibt es diese Karten auch auf deutsch?
Sorry, no. :(
Get an Emeril Lagasse power air fryer 360👏🏻 life changing! Way better than a basic air fryer!
We had to replace a new wall oven as a feature has an it an air fryer setting. any tips is will it work better the counter air fryers
I think it's just a marketing gimmick and it is likely a convection oven... Food will take longer to cook in it (as opposed to the air fryer units in my videos)
I have done thighs they were perfect
I never preheat neither, but all this time I follow the preset that's why the chicken was dry. 😅
Right?! It's so wrong! Enjoy your better chicken!
I like dry meat, aka food made wrong, apparently🥴 I hate juicy meat…
