I mix salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder together and season chicken like that as well as adding the seasoning to the flour, but i like a bit of spice so i add half a cup of hot sauce to the "batter" and cayenne to the seasoning, air fryers are amazing !
You can put all the dry ingredients in a gallon sized ziplock bag, close it up shake to combine and put 2-3 pieces inside and shake to coat, very easy and does a good job of containing the mess.
The advice against using oil spray is because the store bought ones contain lecithin, alcohol and other additives which over time can degrade a non-stick surface. Nothing wrong with using plain olive oil in a spray though, just best to avoid those "1 cal" sprays.
@@novanoskillz4151 I’m scared if those plastic bags . They sometimes have a hidden hole and have all your flour all over the kitchen … ask me how i know this lol
Our homegrown eggs are deep orange as well. It's the difference between regularly raised chickens and those that are free ranged. We feed our chickens a ton of fresh veggies from our garden and that makes a huge difference.
Yes! Usually chickens that are pasture-raised (fed more of a grass diet) have higher beta-carotene, more omega 3s, more vitamin D, and more vitamin E in their diet and that translates to a more orange yolk! So we are consuming healthier eggs from healthier chickens :D
I'd agree, but only if it was truly fried. These "air fried" chickens get really soggy and gross imho, I probably won't be trying this technique again.
I just tried your recipe and I just want to say this is THE MOST flavorful chicken. I will be cooking your recipe for the rest of my life🥳🥰Thank you for sharing!
I recently made chicken in my air fryer and it was amazing. And now I see this video, which is a sign from God to make it again! 😁 I use Avocado oil spray instead of olive oil spray. One suggestion I'd make is to add a bit of Worcestershire sauce to your buttermilk and let the chicken sit in it for at least two hours before beginning the cooking process. You'll thank yourself later for the massive bump in flavor. Great video!!! 🤗
soak chicken for 24hrs in buttermilk for an even more delicious and crispy chicken end result, the buttermilk works on the chicken overnight and softens it and makes it better.
Two tips: 1. Add some baking poweder to the flour. It changes the PH of the skin and makes it crispier. 2. Let the coated chicken rest a while so the baking powder has time to work, and so that the coating sticks to the chicken more.
I've watched a few of your videos to get tips on my new air fryer and I like them all. One thing I don't do is spray inside the unit with pressurized sprays. Hydroflorocarbons will, over time, deteriorate non stick surfaces. I don't know what kind of sprayer you're using but I just have a spritz bottle I filled with olive oil. It works just fine.
I've used a zip top bag as a mixing bowl. I used clothes pins to clip the zip top bag to my dish drainer to hold it in place, then used a wire whisk to mix cake batter in the bag. A stainless steel liner (not non-stick coated) from a pressure cooker makes a very nice mixing bowl too. So does the plastic 1-gallon tub ice cream comes in. I used to go camping, spur of the moment. I learned how to make do.
Just got an air fryer and I'll try making this version of air fried chicken. Great video and I like the tip of the wet hand and thr dry hand. I'm always messing up bith hands ha ha ha
This is an extraordinary recipe dude thanks a lot. I've just tried it and it is absolutely amazing. Since I was cooking a large batch, I had to cook half the chicken in the oven. If you want to use this recipe for oven cooking, increase the temp a bit, 195 degrees celcius worked greatly for me.

Egg yolk color is a function of the hen's diet. Interestingly the public has come to associate the darker yolks with better quality/flavorful eggs from healthier chickens so some companies have gone as far as to feed the hens things like turmeric and marigold to make the yolk darker or more orange in color to achieve this effect.
Yes your eggs yolk looks amazing fresh from the farm. That’s how it should look like. I am from the old country Jerusalem and when we were kids we got our eggs from the farm field rite from under the chicken. They look just like that. I’m sure u buy organic. Delish Love watching you ❤
The orange-looking eggs are from free-roaming chickens who are cage-free and get to eat grass, worms, live bugs and crickets, etc. They have access to heartier sources of protein when running around outside. And.... Happier chicken too!
I always get Vital Farm organic pasture riased Eggs . It makes a differnt . Their chickens raise outside on pasture . They get to eat the bugs and sunlight .
Egg yolks are usually vibrantly orange like that if the chickens are fed organically, and pasture raised (free range). Healthy happy chickens make healthier eggs. The shells tend to be harder, as well. I like Nellie's (on sale!).
We have orange eggs in Australia. Yellow mostly I’ve seen in US or other countries. I googled it some years ago and it said it’s just whatever the farmers feed the chickens. Their particular diet can change the colour. Taste is the same. So farmers will deliberately choose the diet they want to maintain that colour. So I guess Australia likes orange. I do too. Although it’s cool to see different colours like bright yellow.
OMG the technique with the dry and wet hand is actually genius, I am so stupid not to think of that earlier!! I always had goop stuck to my fingers after breading two chicken pieces and had to wash my hands every minute LOL
In the Azores, people will feed their chickens Erva das Galinhas, which is Tradescantia fluminensis. It causes the yolks to be very orange. It is a very invasive plant, but chickens love the stuff.
Hey Justin,I appreciate your video brother. Weight cutting season is hard for me , but your videos are making it a bit easier. Just subscriber, Thanks for this video!
The color of the egg yolk is determined by what the chicken is fed for laying mash. If you are buying 'free range eggs' they will have orange yolks because the hen is eating field greens along with insects and whatever else she finds. Those hens that lay in the large barns, are fed a grain mash mix, and the yolk will always be a lighter color yellow. Hope this helps.

However, that there som shake and bake mixes, that which are a seasoning only, in that which case you must use bread crumbs. They are more vibrant and different because the eggs I used to to buy the yolk was always yellow. Yours are nice orange color and organic.
Reason the egg yokes are brighter orange is they feed them corn. That was the way it was when we had chickens in the 70tys in Oklahoma.
