Wonderful, Dom. You are a natural interviewer because you show how interested you are in the people you talk with. I echo the other comments. It would be wonderful for you to do interviews with each of your Repair Shop colleagues.

I absolutely love your videos. I learn so much from them. The Repair Shop is great but I wish I could watch more of the detail behind the repairs, like clocks, jewellery, instruments and art restoration,. Also, what products to use like adhesives, where to get specialist tools and other materials. I know this will not be possible on Prime Time TV, so tough luck I suppose. On the other hand there is always UA-cam. Thank you and all the best Dom in your future endeavours.

I understand there is a human element to each piece and that is germane to the show, but I wish some of the B-roll was omitted to get more details of the repairs in. Also a bit less of the, this is what you are going to see, this is seeing it, this is what you've just seen.

What a great episode! Although I enjoy all of them, this one was especially interesting. Julyan is a very engaging man. I would watch him if he had a UA-cam channel. Luthiers are such amazing craftsmen.

What an interesting video, I didn't know about different sounds wood made. I've always known there's a difference between guitars, I prefer Fender's. What a great guy, the one thing that sticks out amongst you professionals is a willingness to pass/teach all your skills. Thanks Dom, great interview, have a good week ahead.

Subscriber from the States, Seattle WA. Love The Repair Shop and love this spin-off (of sorts) with you, Dom. Just found it and haven't dug in deep yet, but the thing I like about TRS is the diversity of crafts people on the show. I'm a Jack of all trades, so have done it all - including clock work, car building, metal Fab (just finished building a Frankenstein English Wheel with stretcher, shrinker, Bead Roller, and a small brake all attached to a Harbor Freight English Wheel. Works wonders), wood worker, welder, electronics. I really do it all. I also play guitar and have fixed a few dozen guitars and Uke's in my now 63 years. I just finished a sympathetic restoration on my dad's 1957 Gibson Byrdland last year, which was the most nerve racking luthier job yet. I did a restoration on the Gibson tube Amp he bought with it when he was still alive and playing. They are now back together and I hope he's looking down, pleased.
So I loved this episode and especially the bit about growing work spaces and then filling them. I can relate. It's especially hard when your shop has to comprise of automotive tools, woodworking tools, electronics tools, plumbing tools, and every tool in between. Can be difficult. Anyway just a note to say I enjoy your efforts in the show, glad I found your UA-cam channel (which is how I'm watching TRS - just watched you solder up the watering can, which was brilliant work). Stay safe over there, since it's bat-shite crazy over here.

Wow another Gem of interesting insight to a skill. Even the wood sounding different from the tree, that on its own blew me away. Nice meeting you Julyan! A skilled earned by hard graft over years has paid off by watching your repair skills. Amazing, well done, Dom for another brilliant interview. Don't stop them, love to see more of them Dom. Thank you.

Thank you Dom for this interview with Julyan and others. My wife and so appreciate watching the Repair Shop and had often wondered what the story was behind each person. With your interviews we now see you as individuals with lives more than personalities from the program. When Julyan's is on the next time we can now appreciate his life story too. Thank you!

Your mention of Fistral Beach took me back to the late 60s when I was a regular visitor from Yorkshire. In my 70s now. Lifesavers were a novelty back then. The only accommodation they had was a beat up old two berth caravan dumped at the top of the beach. Happy days and lucky girls!

I've always liked clocks and watching the repair shop got me to pick the hobby up and I now tinker with them and have a collection of over twenty dating from 1850 to the 40's.

Funny I’m a bit of both of you guys. From across the pond & across the the sea to Hawaii, we’re still unmet Friends. I met this older gentleman Luthier, his shop in his garage. He was doing work on my Friends Stratocaster. I asked the guy if I could get some parts of him to fix a guitar I found in the trash. He told me just drop it off, it was amazing. The day I bought my brand New Gibson 335-S Deluxe, I took it to him. I later found out who the Professional Master was! & The people who went to him like Journey, I learned some things( & watched) from him & I do the work on & built 3 100% Fender Stratocaster’s (I don’t trust others work) & restoring many !of my guitars (&rescue’s )to this day , never have met someone as good as that old guy smoking his cigars ! Thank you Old Man! I still play that Gibson !!
