I love Tony, one minute he's dressed like a 14 year old off to school wearing a backpack and the next minute he looks like a banker. The Cayman GT4 is gorgeous.

I fully understand your point of view, it is faster, more usable, better fuel economy, bla bla bla... But honestly I'd still pick a manual 😂
its easy, if you you use it as a daily go for the PDK (hard clutch), if you have a second car like i do for daily use, go for the manual GT4, its not about the faster PDK, its about fun. and this is what you have with the manual GT4

Please keep showing as many cars as possible whenever you go to a dealership or showroom, like when you and STG when to drive the manual Aston Martin Vantage, or whenever there are nice cars around. Not all UA-camrs do it and it's frustrating when I see a nice car in the B-roll but I never see it mentioned after that

I get that the PDK is a better, faster gearbox but there is just something about banging gears in a manual.
Yeah but better not on this car or you won't get the full performance of a Porsche engine
Haven’t been a subscriber for two years, and I can see not a single thing has changed.
I could agree with these guys more. Many of aren't rookies who are still have to prove to someone/ourselves that we know how to shift. If you want to go fast, get better fuel economy, get a full car per shift (Rohrer from Porsche has stated this as fact) your not less of a man/car enthusiast if you spec a DSG. Glad to here these guys weigh in on this, as I'm planning on a GT3 or a 911T soon and probably going for a DSG as it give my back less problems, so nice to know, their are others in the market who aren't afraid to share their opinions about it. I figure after driving my 1st 14 years with only stick shifts and many cars since, I have shifted enough, and having a few cars in the stable that are not sticks is fine.
My manual 718 is horrific in traffic. Would certainly welcome a sports pdk in the next Porsche!

I think PDK GT4 may sell quite great, for people who wants a Porsche for track. For like Nurburgring, or someone who wants a less power than GT3 but want PDK, like me. Because for me, I like the sound that PDK makes on each up and downshift.

Guys the big gripe with the manual GT4 is the gears are too long so is the gearing that much shorter in the PDK?
I know PDK's got 7 gears but how does that translate on the road?

The pdk rips in this car and is just plain amazing.
See the thing with PORSCHE PDK vs. a PORSCHE Manual is the fact that Porsche just happens to make the 2 best gearboxes in the business for their GT products. It's not like a C5 Corvette manual transmission or something. So I get where people are coming from when they want their manual Porsche box... BUT most Porsche owners probably go around with their manual in auto-blip mode anyway so I really don't see the point. Flip the paddles on the PDK if you want the engagement.

Car looks stunning, not many spec'd without the sport chrono but no biggie, from what I can see that would be about £98k OTR, flipping it after a week for £113K.... good luck if you can, shame it was not delivered 2 months ago it would have got you a fatter margin as it seems that is all that is important here.
My 992s has gone up £15 k since I got it last year. Gotta love chip shortages and Covid

It's a strange market at the moment in the UK though with a year old manual GT4 (20 Reg) offering 5.5K more with someone like we buy any car for example than a brand new (21 Reg) PDK.

I have a GT4 Man and I've ordered the PDK. 84mph in second is just too much. You're over the limit by 6krpm.

Are the gt bucket seats worth the upcharge over the 18 way sport seats? I’m having a hard time justifying that extra cost.
No and on the resale market you’ll lose even more. I absolutely love the carbon buckets for their looks and for how actually comfortable they are given their purpose, and I especially love the ease of changing out the cushions. HOWEVER: They’re only appropriate if the only street driving you do is on your way to the track (which also means PDK since the goal is lap times) so they should only be spec’d in RS cars being used as such. They should never be spec’d in a 911 either because it defeats the entire purpose of the 911 setup by preventing access to the back seat/storage space. Outside of the 918, I would only reccomend them in a GT4 RS with Weissach. That’s for personal use and resale value. Buying a GT car second hand, as 99.9% of us do, get whatever gives you the gigglies, just don’t pay a penny more for buckets vs. a comp without them because the next person absolutely will not.

Are you looking at the new GT4RS with PDK, I know this 3mths ago but man that GT4RS is a smaller but compact GT3
Just ordered a Cayman and deliberated over manual Vs pdk, drove both, pdk is faster no doubt, but ordered the manual, honestly, to me the car didn't feel half as special with an auto box.
Sold my PDK version after 6 months and got into a manual. So much more engaged.
Same, driven 5,000 miles in mine in 4 months. WHAT a car!
Not sure if my eyes deceive me, but are those scratches/paint trade under the rear driver taillight and along the wheel well at 6:22? They're certainly not shadows.

I see Tony's Manual GT4 has a registration plate. Where's the Plate on the new one 🤔 Put one on or get the law changed & we can all take them off 👍 They do stop the front on the car getting marked.

I think pple forgot to mention how bad the new 4.0 sounds, there’s a reason why the used 981s Gt4 spyder gts are still going up while the 718 cooled. It requires a 6k exhaust sys to sound good while the 981 sounds pretty perfect right out of the box. Despite the flat six I dunno how Porsche managed to make it sound like a droney 4cyl. Otherwise I like every other aspect of my car… just the sound is a big letdown and had me looking at 981 for half the price

Caymans are great but you’ll always be asked why you couldn’t afford a 911. Hence I got a 992 S 😎🇬🇧🔥🔥☝️
911's are for fat arseholes who constantly have to tell others they got one, like you did, while a Cayman owner knows what he wants, for him. Not for others to see.
Nice car for sure but after driving both I preferred and bought a 718. 992 felt too big and heavy. I’ve never driven a GT3 but for the regular models stuff what others think give me a 718. That said the best car is the one you love so congrats on the 992 S, beautiful car ❤️❤️

With a PDK, you are operating a vehicle. With a manual, you and the car are a single, blended being. Big difference.
Can you imagine specing a gt4 and forgeting what you specd? If it was me i wouldnt get a hood night sleep until delivery and would know every fucking spec code by memory

It's Porsche's automatic DCT transmission option. You can google this stuff you know?
It’s very simple. Pdk faster and short second gear.
Making it more daily drivable makes a GT car less of a GT car
Those who choose pdk on gt4, deep inside, are insecure about driving manual ;) and please, no you dont need to go .5 sec faster around a track that you’ve gone once or twice in your life

What? PDK literally means "dual clutch" in German.
PDK is literally the German for Porsche dual-clutch.
Is a "duel clutch" where you've got two clutches fighting in a duel?
PDK literally means Porsche Doppelkuplungsgetriebe. Porsche Dual-Clutch Transmission (or Porsche Double-Clutch Transmission)

Well that’s the second black gt4 pdk I know in the uk now. You’ve got 1 and I’ve got the other. I put the houndstooth seats in mine though but have every option ticked and done the black callipers like you. Although I can’t sell it even at £110k! 😬
If you love to drive cars like that, you choose manual. The rest is noise. Not the one from the flat six by the way. I own a gt4 and it had to be manual.
