  • Why the Range Rover L322 is SO CHEAP Now (TDV8 Vogue Review)
I thought it was time to give you guys an update on the Range Rover now we've had it and discuss why in 2022 these cars have lost so much value and are cheap (in comparison to their original price) to pick up used. I also try to answer the question should you buy a used/cheap Range Rover? They are a bargain in terms of the amount of car you get for your money but we can't forget about repairs and maintenance. I hope you enjoy the video!
Check out ‪@LucyOnCars‬ for more videos on this particular Range Rover

I Have a TD v8 since 2015 and a few older models. Best car I ever owned. Just sailed through the MOT. Most comfortable car I ever driven. I tried downsizing but within a few days missed my RR so much I had to get another. Kepping this one until it becomes unroadworty. Good video cheers

I am looking at the moment, I have two defenders, so know even the simpler models are far from indestructible, would be interested to know what issues you have had in your ownership, clearly keeping a few k spare is a logical thing to do but personally i would not have a spare 8/9 k straight after purchasing to put issues right, so trying to balance that with the best I can afford

Enjoy your RR. Live in Australia. My wife and I bought a brand new what was then known as a LR110 County wagon back in the mid eighties when we had a growing family. We had it for fourteen years. Wonderful vechile, very reliable. Fast forward to today, own two Defenders(farm vehicles) a Discovery 2 and a 4. My adult son has a Defender and a Dis. 4. We love our LRs, I hope when you are much older you are still driving such including the one you have.

It's still a £70,000 car when it comes to servicing and repairs! Regular servicing at an independent garage and setting money aside for future repairs are essential. A heavy car is usually heavy on suspension components. Always check for rear wheel arch corrosion and corroded tailgate struts. Always make sure the air conditioning works properly before you buy. Replacing the evaporator core is an 18+ hour job! If you use it off-road and for towing, you should get years of motoring pleasure. There'll always be someone who wants to buy your car!

Why cheap? MPG but those in the know can run it on a modest budget by avoiding main dealers at all costs and by using independent specialists. There are lots about. Tyres for example, fit General Grabber AT3 for £140 each as opposed to over priced Pirelli north of £200 each. And the Generals look superb on it. I’ve just piked up my second l322 4.2 supercharged 2007. Very happy owner I’ve also ordered the service kit which for 4x4 isn’t too bad but i am saving on labour by doing it myself. There are a couple of issues like I’m going to need to do some rust treatment and preventive work it sounds worse than it is. And fix the rear wiper along with boot lower strap has snapped but an easy fix. Other than that i feel I’ve got a good car.the rules I follow with a range are be willing to get your hands dirty, or spend some cash. Keep up on preventive maintenance and don’t skimp. But the most important use it and enjoy it. And encore the hater’s. Personally owning them I’ve found the reliable for what they are, and when i got rid of my first one I regretted it and missed it which has been the first car i did that with.

They are cheap because they are a nightmare if requiring any significant repair, which is almost certainty. Get friendly with the service staff at a Landrover dealer and you will hear the stories and wonder why you too would be insane enough to buy one.

Having owned 4 Range Rovers (including our first) L332 from 2009 to our latest 2014, all brand new purchases. We’ve found that everyone that has purchased our cars after have been given a good deal after. (1)Brand new gear boxes replacements x 2,
    (2) plus turbos x 1
    (3)electrics galor
If you buy this car brand new, use and get everything done/repaired withi the warranty/extended is finished and then sell on before you spend from your pocket and before you has the present buyer who have purchased it, you you has the second buyer are unto a good thing.
A few of my friends have bought our Range’s after we purchased it brand new.

Range Rovers become wrecks when the 'squeezed middle' buy them for the school run.
No money for servicing soon sees the demise of major components. Minor faults don't get repaired and before long, they are destroyed and found as trade sales or on auction sites
I've had two discos and L322 RR, all great cars which stayed reliable once repaired and serviced well.

Why are they so cheap? Simple, the running costs are high especially road tax at £600+ which will go up every year, fuel is getting to be more of an issue and insurance at group 50(?) is more than that for a 500 bhp BMW 760. On top of that you're always going to have to be prepared to open your wallet on any old (let alone the L322 which was 3 generations ago), complex vehicle. However, I really don't think people cross shop between a teenage L322 and an electric vehicle.

They are still a ‘champagne’ car that commands top end prices in terms of running costs etc. If you can square that circle in emotional and financial terms then IMO there is nothing better as it does everything you could wish for. Petrol and diesel will be around for a good number of years yet so unless Society bans them or makes them unaffordable due to penalties etc then there is still plenty of time to get that 5.0L Autobiography and enjoy the experience! People are happy to shift a 13yr old Range Rover for £7k before they get a huge bill. You know what the Aussies say…..if you want to go into the outback, go in a Range Rover/land rover.
