Fun fact, in AAA, Judas Mesias is actually named ''El Mesias'' (In spanish: ''The Messiah'') and was given a bit more importance than in his time in TNA. He was treated like such a badass that he got ''Requiem for a Dream'' as his ring entrance theme. Hell, he held the Megachampionship (the promotion's biggest title) for quite a long while before going to Lucha Underground as Mil Muertes. And even though his better years are now past him, he still has a job in the wrestling biz in Mexico and his neck of the woods, Puerto Rico. So yeah, the guy was a big star in Latin America.

That's a dude with dignity 🤣 It's not about the fame or money, it's about feeling free.

Where's your video on Grado's TNA run? That guy was a massive dumpster fire! Everything about him was a massive rerun of Big Daddy, but at least Daddy had some redeeming qualities to him in that he was somewhat entertaining to watch in his era. Grado was doing the same tired stuff that Daddy did, but 30 years out of date. I'd really love it if The Hawk ripped this guy to shreds.
Agreed. Because there, they leant into him being more of a likeable underdog rather than a goofy comedy guy. ICW's bookers really knew how to make Grado a star. Too bad everywhere else he went didn't see him the same way.
Grado is the perfect example of a regional star, He may have been one of the most over people in Scotland in the entire business at the time. But that really struggled to translate anywhere else, and would have even with the right booking. Shame his TNA run also ruined that since it led to a Heel turn and cooled him off.
Actually Ricky Banderas is a really good wrestler, je just was booked poorly in TNA by having him feud with Abyss from the get go. He's barely 5' 11", so also booking him as a monster didn't make sense. When he was wreaking havoc here in PR he was booked more like a "crow" Sting character, was a hardcore specialist and wrestled a similar style to Jerry Lynn.
