  • There are many reasons why I stopped going to church. I think religion and spirituality are changing dramatically right now as a result of the internet.
I do believe in God but not just in the Christian way of looking at him/her. I meditate and am into personal growth and don't find awakened people sitting in the pews of church. But hey that's just me.
Here are all 12 reasons I stopped going to church:

Wow. Thank you so much for this. I quit church years ago. I never felt a thing other than judgement and fear as a kid and teen. When I became an adult I wondered why I never felt God or his spirit. I got tired of being told that we are horrible people because we sin but then told we are made in God’s image. I truly feel that once I let go of church I truly found God.

Jesus Christ started a Church, one Church. He gave Peter the key to the kingdom, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. At the Catholic Church we go to worship Jesus and partake of the Eucharist which becomes the body and the blood of Jesus. It's all about Him and not all about us.

I've struggled to "connect" with other people in church or anywhere else for that matter(this is NOT a lack of faith thing like some people would wrongly assume, it's more of an introvert thing). What kills me is when they insist that fellowship is a essential part of the faith (citing Hebrews 10: 25) and then they are harsh with people who struggle to form viable relationships within the group. They make all these assumptions that the person who's struggling was "there for the people and not for the purpose of worshiping God". I'm like, "Really?" you can't see that somebody is hurting and needs help and encouragement? No, they pile on the hurt with their stupid assumptions. Oh, hey, let's question whether or not the hurt person is saved or not....Come On! This is why I don't go to church anymore. I'm done with the horizontal hostility, stupid assumptions and spiritual immaturity. Enough is enough. Ezekiel 34:4.

is right in writing about guidelines in the bible about how "church" is to be ran but it doesn't ever mention a buildings. The ecclesia [the called-out]/(so-called "church") was and is the Body of Christ made of bodies (who have have saved and repentant, obediant souls) who are temples of God. Remember "Go ye out and ..." And. "Come out of her, be ye separate, ..." The going to a building and listening to one or two men preform the ceremony came from the synagogues whoes teachers infultrated the ecclesia.

There are women in my bible study group who stopped going to church years ago because they felt their pastors wanted their money. Many pastors covet the money of their congregants and feel entitled.
There are four things that get under the skin of my husband and I about church:
    1. Legalism. Legalism is a Grace killer.
    2. Tithing. Tithing has no place in the Body of Christ.
    3. Unlearned Christians. People who have been going to church for decades and yet are still on the milk of scripture. Some don't even own a bible.
    4. Organized religion.
It's getting to the point where today the only place you'll find good solid bible teaching is in the home bible study locations. There are now 40 women in my home bible study session.....it drives my husband crazy.....grin......😉

For years I've struggled to find a church where the pastor was a shepherd and really loved and cared about his flock. Churches talk about outreach to the world, but they don't even reach those within their congregation. Instead of genuine love, you find shallow judgemental people and pastors/elders who love themselves, are proud and believe they're superior to the people they lead. How many pastors would be prepared to get on their kness and wash people's feet? It all seems to be showmanship and image centred, no place for God to minister, heal and restore people's lives back to Him. I also find pastors to be controlling and manipulative, let's not forget the power couples who's word is law! If only leaders of churches would take John 21: 15 - 17 seriously and stop seeking their own agendas.

And those who choose this route will be MUCH better off than sitting in the organized church today where you hear shallow teaching and musical entertainment. I don't blame anyone for leaving the organized church. My wife and I have made a short term commitment to our present church. But in 2 years and 8 months, we're out. I'm fed up with the whole mess. Just seeing this in 2018. I stopped going to church in 2009. For me, this can mean not ever stepping a foot inside one, but the paradigm shift came from me not feeling like I HAVE to go to be in good spiritual standing. I was raised in church and in college was recruited into a worldwide Christian Church that is very cult-like. Going to church was mandatory and called "seeking the kingdom". We were made to feel guilty and in sin for not meeting with the "body of Christ" and after a decade I was on burnout. The Church environment is one of the most abusive places in society, which is pure irony considering what they claim to believe and practice. I, too, find myself at odds with all the contradictions like the unhealthy lifestyle (lots of junk food, etc) and tons of other things. Today I make videos about my own journey to help those leaving church to heal from their experiences.

The church is where I feel least close to god. I believe in Jesus Christ and that only through him we are saved but the church is not bringing me closer to him. I don't feel any closer after I've been to church. Some people are defending the church by saying that we are all sinners and that those who are running the church are also sinners and that it can not be perfect. What I say though is that I don't expect it to be perfect but I expect it to be spiritual and that I would like the leaders to preach the gospel and not preach what is going to bring in more people so that they get more money. I'm just so upset that the church didn't at all turn out to be what I have expected. I became a Christian 5 years ago and Jesus is the light in my life but the church is making me more sad than happy. I just want to find a church where it's about god and that it's not about the number of people that goes there, I want to find a church where the leaders are dedicating their life's to god so that we also can get encouraged and feel free to talk to the pastor without him trying to finish the conversation as soon as possible. I'm just so upset, because I love talking about Jesus and what he has done in our life's with the people at the church but no one seems to want to hear about god. I'm praying for them.

Jana jonah don't be discouraged, you are not alone, there are many Christians who love Jesus but still find the church a struggle. Struggle is always going to be part of our growth to maturity, even the first Christians had struggles (read ACTS & ROMANS & Corinthians -Apostle Paul was beside himself at times! ) Jesus was even murdered & He said no servant is greater than his master. So if He had struggles that's a sure sign that His ppl will have struggles too. I know what you mean about ppl at church wanting to get the service over with & not wanting to talk about Jesus, I find that attitude really bizarre too! You just keep close to Jesus, get alone with Him whenever you can & He will sustain you & guide you. He has graciously sustained me in my faith for years! Just ask Him & you will see how He will answer your prayers. He loves to answer the prayers of His ppl & see their faith grow! Blessings 😇

Leaving church because the game is no longer representing Jesus and what He wants from His followers. Leaving a debt invoking and isolating, corporation to be free in Christ. The Holy Spirit guides me today, rather than some guy's opinion (which might or might not be Biblical). Isolation is not the answer. Finding a small assembly for fellowship and edification that you can enjoy that adds to your walk with Christ. I try to be like Jesus in all I do.

I originally stopped going to this one Baptist church because it was either leave or confront my youth pastor (and possibly punch him in the face) after he went from being an okay guy to a jerk who decided to treat me like crap all because my former guidance counselor began telling him lies about me. Then I learned some time later that my brother was falsely accused of bringing drugs and dealing them on church property and he was banned before he coukd say anything. My brother had too much respect for the church. Well I tried going to other churches but in the end, I stopped going altogether. The reasoning is because I began to discover one major thing: we're not teaching anyone anything. Instead we're trying to control people's lives and tell them what to do rather than let them choose for themselves. I'm not necessarily talking about telling someone to brush their teeth or comb their hair, things like that, but more like telling them not to listen to rock music or watch horror movies (or sci-fi and yes there are churches out there that forbid sci-fi) or read whatever books you want to read besides the Bible, not just Harry Potter but also Lord of the Rings, Frankenstein, Dracula, and even the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Also, how is telling someone they're going to church a means of asking them to go or inviting them to go? Churches show many examples of hypocrisy and not just going against what they preach. There are some churches that are okay with you listening to rock music but will go livid if you listen to bands like Skillet. Also there's fanatics within churches that will go as far as throwing water at you and claim you're possessed by the devil if you say you thought of writing a horror novel (me, while I never had water thrown at me, I was accused of being possessed because I thought of writing one myself). The question is this; are we not allowed to express ourselves, let alone be ourselves? How can you preach of free will if you continue to throw leashes onto someone and hold them back. I get there are some things we shouldn't do (commit murder, intentionally hurt people and animals for mere pleasure, things of that nature) but there's no harm in allowing people to live their lives how they want. Also, a lot of people tend to go online and post scriptures from the Bible on posts and videos, condemning multiple things. If people can ease up on forcing religion down other people's throats, a lot of things can be different

My faith grew more and my life tended to improve (in some areas) when I stopped trying to "fit in" at the local churches in my area. Of course it's extremely painful, sad, lonely and discouraging not to have fellowship with other believers and my "being out of organized religion" really does reveal my weaknesses to myself. Nevertheless, I just cannot compromise that still small voice inside me that says: Something aint right here, run away... I still belong to the New Jerusalem, that spiritual Holy City which is comprised of the Elect Peoples of God, that's for sure.

very interesting video. ive stopped going to church too & i grew up christian & a church goer. I have not been to church in about 6 months now & i feel wrong saying this but its true: it feels good not to go. the church i was a part if was alwaya considered a cult & i was with it for 7 yrs, i got tired of the judgement, the overly monitoring of how i dressed, spoke, what i did, who i was hanging around, got tired of. eing questioned constantly like a damn child. I was judged and pretty much shunned when i stopped going by so called "friends". I was hurt by the church (not god) & since then i like urself have found god in other ways and things, meditation, nature, spirituality, becoming 1 with my own inner being. I no longer label myself a christian & i have received crap for it but im caring less & less. its a journey but i am learning alot more about who i am and who we are meant to be as beings now more than when i was in church. I see church, now as a clique, a VIP club where u have to follow certain rules in order to get in and to stay in.

It is important to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and not look to others but to Him only.
The modern day church is under a false spirit and not even serving Jesus Christ of Nazareth anymore. They do not even know Him but use Him for the purpose of their own profit. All while leading many astray away from the TRUE Gospel.

I quit the religious system. Can’t take it anymore. It’s empty. I Remember about 15 years ago I was in church actively involved on the praise team singing in the choir but yet I felt disconnected from them on Sunday. I was leaving church and I start talking to the Lord and I said Lord I don’t fit in the church or the world. The Holy Spirit spoke back to me, and I felt an in strong impression whatever you wanna call, it said, You fit in the Kingdom. I know that wasn’t me thinking that I know it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me, because I would not have said that to myself. And it definitely lines up with the scripture. Jesus said, “my kingdom is not of this world.”He also said, “the kingdom of heaven does not come with the observation.” elsewhere in scripture it says, “ the kingdom is not meat and drink, but peace, joy, and righteousness in the Holy Ghost.

For the past several months, I've been looking for answers to my question about the frequent carb fests that happen at my church, for which I am expected to help cook, serve, and clean up, including for after funerals. Thankfully, my church does not serve refreshments after Sunday services. However, in addition to funerals, there are frequent fundraisers and other events which include many desserts, spaghetti, pancakes, all kinds of high carb and cancer promoting items. I used to be severely obese (over 350) had a carb addiction, diabetes, and am a cancer survivor. Thankfully, I have lost over 150 pounds, but am still overweight and struggle with this issue every day. I have told some people at church that I don't feel comfortable around all this junk food, but they do not understand. I mentioned it to the senior pastor, who seemed to joke about it and asked me if they should serve me up a steak. It really doesn't matter if there is a salad in the room, and it doesn't even matter whether or not I eat any of the junk food. Just the frequent presence of the junk food, which is the main food that is most promoted as entertainment at every special event, is a problem for me. Just last month, another of our congregants died of cancer, was also on kidney dialysis for many years. He used to have 5 sugars in his coffee. His wife openly expressed her disgust for obese peoplel, and she is famous for her special cake recipe. I started attending this church after I lost weight, so she doesn't know that I was once one of the SUPER obese that disgust her. Anyway, your video is the first one, other than another one by you, in which the subject of health issues (namely, the serving of unhealthy food and drink at church) has been addressed. It helps me to know that I am not alone in thinking that this hypocrisy of eating and promoting junk food parties while praying to G*d to save us from the consequences is so wrong. This is the major reason why I am slowly coming to realize that church is nothing but an expensive social club like every other social club, and possibly not a representation of any truth. Unfortunately for me, there ARE people there whom I love and will miss, but I love staying home and studying on my own more than playing that game. Thank you!

What about those that can’t do it ? Like people that depend on that 10% or just people that are poor? Making you feel guilty or the pastor that’s already making the big $$$ of the church telling you to be contempt don’t over spent so you can give more to god ?? Is it really for god ??

Exactly👍🏼. Churches aren't like they're used to be n a relationship between God and the individual is personal.
Here's my share of story, I'm originally from Middle East n I got adopted by American family where my adopted dad's parents were missionary for over 30 yrs n I've seen it all. To make story short I never gave damn about Islam even my biological parents used to force me to pray seven times a day n to me was waist of time. The only sentimental thing I bought with me that was from my biological mom was the Quran n prayer set she made for me. One day my history teacher asked me to bring my Quran to class to show as example n I realized both my Quran n my prayer set was missing. I asked my adopted parents if they seen em n what happened to my Quran my dad reply was this is a Christian house n they can't allow none Christian things in the house I forced them to tell me what they did with them and my dad said they burned them. From that day my view towards Christianity shifted n I have no intention to ever put my foot in church again. Most churches are filled with hypocrites. Not even the pastors themselves can be trusted, as I mentioned not only my grandfather was a pastor also one of my uncles runs a big church. The way most church goers act is disgusting from lying, cheating, gossiping, abusing one another even behind the back, playing God on one another by judging each other to even what’s worse Church Embezzlement. Most hypocrites think I’m a fool but they only fooling themselves. As Bob Marley said “you can fool some people sometimes, but you can’t fool all the people all the time”. ✌🏼🕊

  • @addpuppets9326

Expectation and reality is not mostly the same in Christianity. I read in Matthew 16:24 ‘if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me’ . . . That’s right. Christianity is not carrying the symbolic miniature cross around your neck but carrying the heavy cross on your back. Not physically but spiritually. But the book also says 'For my yoke is easy and my burden is light' Matthew 11:30. If it's easy why many believers give up Christianity? What many of us don’t realize is, ‘. . . wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it’ Mathew 7:13-14 That’s right the gate is narrow. We’ve to do some soul searching to find out why we are Christians. If it’s for this materialistic world to become successful in life, I see a danger there. Because that’s not what the book teaches us. It teaches us to deny oneself. Most converts these days are into Christianity for the wrong reasons. As the sower parable teaches, ‘the seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.’
I’ve given my ears to the wrong teachings for so many years and it hurt me so bad. I stopped going to Church seven years ago. Although never stopped believing but lately am depressed and unable to pray. I no longer find the word comforting. My unanswered prayers torment me to this day. The silence of God is the worst thing that can happen to a believer. Don’t know who to blame.

I've stopped sensing God at church too. I feel its because of the compromises being made to obeying the word. Women being in authority over men, no rebuking sin and so on. Its all about "encouraging" instead of using the word to rebuke sin. Just obey the bible.
Its happening everywhere. Churches that used to have a strong presence of God are "modernizing", and basically conforming to the world.

I agree. There's different reasons why I quit going to a church building. But one of those reasons has to do with feeling disconnected to the people who were in my church . The church I was attending has decent people. There's a woman I've known for years that has always stood by and tried to help me. But other than that , I have no connection to any of the people outside of the church building. Even when going to a church building , there's still no real connection. People will greet each other , but that's the extent of it. Also (from my experience , particularly with the church organization I was involved with ) , there's always some type of elitism going on. What I mean by that is , is that there's always some type of clique or inner circle. Some people are treated better than others. While this doesn't apply to all Christians and church goers , I believe there's an unspoken , subtle disdain for the poor in many churches. I see this stuff and it's a turn off to me. People will tell you that going to a church building serves a purpose. You go to be with other believers , to worship God , to hear the word preached , and to draw spiritual strength . Sadly , I got to the point where I was miserable where I was at and wasn't being fed. I've been seeing contradictions in my own life , and I'm starting to question things more. Though I still believe in God , I'm also becoming more of a skeptic. There's too many things that don't make sense. Prayers go unanswered. I start either questioning the existence of God or questioning whether I'm loved by God. At this point , I see no purpose in going to a church building where I'm : 1) feeling unhappy ; 2) feeling disconnected from others ;3) no longer agree with some of their teachings or traditions ; and 4) feel like I'm not being fed , receiving anything from God , or feeling unloved by God. I can't do it anymore ! I have to live my own life and find my own peace OUTSIDE of a church building.

We do have domionion over the creation. We are to care and respect it as such. Yes, souls are the most important thing as your life on earth is short, very short, and eternity is, well, eternity. We should focus on sharing the gospel so those who have never heard can hear. I do agree that we need to take care of our bodies and not eat that kind of junk food or processed foods as God intended us to eat healthy. So I agree with some of what you are saying but not all of what you said is a weird thing that Christians do. Going out and sharing the gospel is the great comission and God did not ask us to do it. He told us to do it! I also hope you are reading God's word daily and studying it.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Matthew 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
1 Timothy 4:13 - Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
2 Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
If God tells us to read and study His word then it must be an important part of the relationship we have with Him.

People will ostracize you if you don't follow their communion or attend their ceremonial events. it is more of a clique than a communion of worship. A place where people hang out or network.

I never truly felt any connection going to a physical church. Not only that, I've experienced judgement in churches to see they're only motivational speech shows with a live concert in the beginning they call praise & worship. Plus they use the offerings money to make the place look like it's for a concert, speakers, lights, projectors, TVs, live camera feeds, social media pages, chairs, food after service and whatnot and boring music.
I learned to praise God and pray and learn from doing my own research online and asking God to guide me. I feel more connected to God in a spiritual sense and I no longer go to church for that. To me, church is just not only a waste of time but I don't learn anything. I only see people arguing and fighting about denominations, drama, how you should dress or when to date or whatever. It's nothing more but just an institute they call church. Is why I no longer go to church.

I did not find out who God truly was until I left the so-called earthly church over thirty years ago. God does not and will not live in buildings made by men, rather he dwells in the heart of true individual believers by faith.

Justin. . . About doughnut and coffee ’But food does not bring us closer to God: We are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.’ 1 Corinthians 8:8
‘A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it’ Matthew 15:11
“Food for the stomach and the stomach for food”, but God will destroy them both.’ 1 Corinthians
‘Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a festival, a new moon, or a sabbath’ Colossians 2:16

If a man eats doughnuts and coffee (all acid forming foods full of sugar that feeds cancer cells) then gets cancer, how is that food not defiling the body? The food they ate at church essentially played a role in them getting disease which they now go back to the church to get prayer for. #makesnosense

Justin . . . Yes that’s why people say, ‘you are what you eat.’ But take note, what defiles the body doesn’t necessarily defile your spirit. However, what I eat must not be a stumbling block to anybody. If the kind of food brothers in the faith are eating is an obstacle to those who are spiritually weak, they should not indulge themselves eating such food. The Bible covers this topic in detail in the New Testatment.
      ‘. . . the kingdom of God is NOT A MATTER OF EATING AND DRINKING . . . ’ Romans 14:17
The kinds of foods these days we’re eating are not considered healthy but if we limit the portion size, we can reduce chances of obesity, developing diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. Doughnut is considered sugary and must be consumed moderately. Most other foods we buy at the store contain high fructose corn syrup and other harmful ingredients to the body too. The food industry should take the blame for processing some of the foods to be highly addictive but not God. This was not a case during the biblical times. Diabetes was even unheard of in those times. In fact the Bible mentions eating too much honey could make us sick. Proverbs 25:16 ‘If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, lest you have your fill of it and vomit it. Insulin resistance develops as our tolerance level goes up the more we consume sugary drinks and foods leading to obesity and diabetes. But the first sign is throwing up. If we ignore that warning, well we’re asking for it.
Anyways, don’t forget we live in a fallen world. That’s why the Bible says, ‘set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.’ Colossians 3:2. ‘So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’ 2 Corinthians 4:18
We only live in this body for less than a hundred years and when you think of eternity what we eat or do in this life is pretty insignificant. ‘Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. For our light and TEMPORARY AFFLICTION is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles . . .’ 2 Corinthians 4:16

I agree with you 150% Justin. Have also pondered the same exact thing! In the past 8 years, my eating has changed and so this became blaring to me! Definitely seems hypocritical at the least. Our power is found in Jesus and He will help us to overcome whatever we ask Him :) This includes horrendous eating habits as well! Also have been on the fence regarding church attendance for the past 4 years. All you say is how I see it too...a very sad state of affairs. Just give me JESUS. The tithing bit is another detail. All about greed these days! Husband and I will not be going to church and will studying God's Word together :) Thank you for sharing your experiences. Stay blessed always!

I feel the same. Going to church in a smaller suburb where certain people think they are Jesus Christ was more than I could tolerate. I went to Catholic school as a kid and hated it. I took my kids to Catholic religion class on Wednesday. I decided to pull them out when I watched the movie Spotlight. I don't miss it or the mean people that were control freaks.

I stopped going because they practice hypnosis, mind control, and fear manipulation. You will forever have low vibration when you agree with and operate in fear. Yes churches do feed people junk food especially around the holidays. Older people and women also tried to control
Me and my body though I’m a 30+ year old adult. I think it’s sick when one cannot function without controlling others.

Jesus' two most important commands were to "love one another" (meaning fellow disciples) and "go and make disciples." I think the primary reason for the church in the first place is a "body" people can connect/bond to and thus help us fulfill "loving one another." But if you don't have a strong "body ethic" then what do you do with the disciples you make? To whom will they bond? "Going to church" would, ostensibly, seem to be the way we find people to bond with, but, so often, what Sunday church has become (an event) does not support deep bonding - only superficial - if that. Rev 2 speaks of the Ephesian church which had "left its first love" - or, more literally, "you have abandoned the love you had at the beginning." I believe Jesus was referring to love believers had for each other and not their devotion to Jesus himself. The consequence of not loving one another, according to Jesus, was that "He would remove the lampstand from its place" - in other words, the Ephesian church would die (lampstand=church). This is exactly what you'd expect when people don't love each other - they walk.

I feel like you 100%. I just told my husband I'm not going anymore and I prefer private worship online to John MacCarthur's church. I feel people are fake and I don't connect with anyone there. I feel it's about money and no one there really cares about each other as it's a hi and bye on Sunday. I don't feel there is any conscious awareness at this church either.

I agree with you 100% on why you stopped going to church.

I did this past February Maria and you don't have to throw it out....its not even in the Bible....it is absolutely nowhere in the OT and it's scattered throughout the NT with words that don't even mean "Eternal Conscious Torment"
Jesus didn't come to die to save us from a place called hell...he died for sin and to defeat the grave....
Personally I believe what the church fathers did for the first 400 years and that's the restitution of all things.
The word eternal, everlasting, forever don't actually exist in the original language...all of them mean an "age" or indefinite period of tine

Eternal torture is not biblical by the way. Interesting how that works. Haha. Look into Conditional Immortality (that position has the most exegetical support for it). Christian Universalism has a few decent verses for it, but also has some problems.

Yes we do they think we have fallen away but we have become closer and we are free from the crap. Now we see a need and meet that need we fellowship still but most of all my husband had a dream and jesus spoke to him and said get up get out and i will fill your mouth so we where obedient to him and not man. We are still under his covering and he has showed us this time and time again. Because they will say to you your not under our covering anymore but we never was we where only under jesus covering any way .but you know when its not good when you leave when the pastor says to others dont gave anthing to do with them now lol. Any way pastering is a gift not a tital.

I stopped going about seven years ago maybe a little more, I stopped because I would listen to the preacher and what he said didn’t line up with the scriptures. I was called to preach about 18 years ago and began to preach what scripture actually says and have been asked not to come back basically because they do t want to hear it, yet the entire time I was preaching their heads were nodding yes and amen was coming out of their mouths. I don’t get the chance to preach very often, I still have to work in my family because they are not totally on board with the truth. But they have started to come around. I believe God is calling you out because of the false teaching in the church today, you need to take the time to find the truth of scripture. I recommend you watch 119 ministries teaching titled the Pauline Paradox series and watch all eight videos.

If you don't find the presence of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit at church, you're in the wrong church. Period. If you're going to church because you're entertained, you're in the wrong church and your motivation is for the wrong reason. I go to church to commune with the Father Son and Holy Spirit and to pray and learn with my fellow parishioners. Church is not about me, it's about FSHS and communion with them. The Church was established by Christ himself for our benefit and what we receive there is essential "life giving" spiritual food. What church? The original "Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church". Your choice.

  • @tiar476

I have witnessed exactly the same. The bigger the church, I found the worst. Fighting over who was more important in worship etc. So false, and they ignore you when they are stood right next to you for 12 months. Always being judged. So fake. Telling me I SHOULD pray, I SHOULD read my Bible. But not one of them knew I spent 2 hours every morning doing exactly what they accused me of not doing.
I have found a nice church, small. If this one starts on me, I'm off. I give to where I need to give as well as tithe, and have done since becoming a Christian, so I don't accept their criticism. Half the time, the things they criticise us for are the exact things they are doing theirselves...plank springs to mind. But I say nothing, just walk away and leave them to it. Give it to God and keep your peace.

Organized church is a hot mess - good to get out and have church in yourself, at home, meeting other believers - Prayer, songs, psalms, worship to God and loving your neighbours, witnessing Christ - that's true church - God is HE - Father in heaven - NOT she...

1:54 THIS IS EXCATLY WHAT BOTHERED ME, too. How can they be so unaware of eating unhealthy garbage and offering it to the children so they get used to it...they confess with their mouthes but with their hearts they're doing the opposite.
Be careful about meditation, tho. I don't know how you do it, and there is a wide facette of different meditation styles, but if you feel like you are digging deeper and deeper into it, you might want to consider to check if you open up to demons through it. I canceled my concentration meditation habit because everyone told me how bad it was and that i should stop immediatly.
They even prayed for me two hours for deliverance, but no demon manifested, while they tell me how bad they manfiested during their deliverance and how many demons left them. Thats a sign for me how spiritually unaware they are. If you walk in the shadow you don't see shadows hushing around but it may be many. If you're walking in the light you immeadiatly see every shadow trying to come towards you. Walking in the light, you are feeling like you are attacked without end, walking in the shadow you dont see any attack. I hope you understand what I mean.

I attended church and started going to a bible study group. Went for about 3 months to the group, then they promoted a deeper prayer group that they pushed hard at church for people to attend. I opted not to do it because the more they pushed it at me the more I turned away.. Soon after not signing up they said the bible study was now part of it so I should do it. I said no to the bible study then. They then said all slots were full but they can still get me in if I wanted...I politely said no thank you.
The pastor then texted me once a week asking if I can volunteer but I couldn't because I was working ( I also give back in my own way to people). I tried dating a woman who " gave herself to god" but was a porn addict, was highly sexual around me but insisted no sex before marriage. I broke it off with her because of all the mixed signals. Now, when I go everyone just ignores me, including the pastor. Aren't we supposed to love each other without judgment? Like I'm not part of this prayer club I'm an out cast. I'm almost 1 foot out the door, but I almost don't want to stop going because I don't want them to win. I win by not caring about their judgements.
