It's also worth mentioning that nodes respawn faster if there are more players in a zone. One can use this to their advantage by harvesting in specific zones during events, where people will be focusing on doing event quests rather than harvesting. For example, Bal Foyen was nuts during the Jester's Festival. You could go around in very small circles without any hostile targets at all.
Player population doesn't effect nodes respawn time, its how many are harvested in a given time. More population usually equates to people randomly harvesting nodes which increase the harvest per a given time. It's why starter zone are very popular.

My fave route (pronounced ROOT in Brit English, oh I so love English!) is Craglorn, base mats, furnishing mats and nirncrux on sweet beautiful RNG. I always feel guilty harvesting mats in starter zones, worrying the players starting there might need them. Of course they probably just want to quest out there and move on. Thank you for the video!
Ah, that is a really good point! I had never considered that, that's going to make me think twice about pulling up to Betnikh and wreaking havoc on the nodes there 😅
Many new players can't even SEE the harvestables unless their mouse accidentally pans over it. I watch them run right by tight groups of resources not even knowing (or caring) that they are there. I promptly clean up. No one starts in the zones mentioned here anyway so don't stress.
Craglorn is one of my favorite farming spots in the game, but haven’t been able to play lately due to a busted PS4 controller. Missing my game and some good pals I’ve made on there.

I used to do all my writs, Decon etc in solitude until I tried Vivec city, now it’s my go to. My fav mat farming route is in bal foyen but I’m definitely going to try these others as they give different mats that I don’t get much of in bal foyen. Thank you And I pronounce bugloss the same as you
Team bugloss ftw What bothered me about the Solitude crafting station layout is how some of the stations were locked behind doors, and subsequently loadscreens! I thought it was wild that I'd have to sit through a 10 second load screen just to enter a small building to craft a rune or something. Vivec is top tier I hope that you have some good luck farming mats in the other locations :D
Great tips as always! I have the house in Fell's Run, Rivenspire and I always do a bit of gathering when I leave there. It's a also decent place for torchbugs if you need Torchbug Thoraxes.
Oh for sure, that river there around the perimeter of the town is rich with torchbugs! Sorry little guys, but I have to harvest you for my expensive artaeum takeaway broths!
True, I used to farm mats by the Relenthil geyser in Summerset - those little grape yards? Pleeenty of mats there. Plus Summerset zone chat on PC NA can get pretty spicy so reading it while farming also kept me entertained haha
Fell’s Run has always been my go-to for farming. I do occasionally run the Craglorn loop in your video, but there’s usually always someone who has picked the area clean and all that’s left are alchemy and rune nodes. For refining and crafting, my number 1 spot is Vivec. Everything in one area and outside, even the bank. But I occasionally utilize Alinor because it’s so pretty.
same, didn't know bal foyen existed till i had to go looking for that lead. I like farming in southern wrothgar. The route also has a lot of treasure chests. Do all my writs in elden root. It has been my fav spot since day1. The fact that you can port to the house from anywhere really helps. Next favorite spot would be Rimmen
Just saw this video this morning and I needed a laugh, and this definitely delivered! Watched a few other vids of yours as well as I'll be getting back into ESO soon with the next-gen console patch coming with Blackwood, and you're to the point, and informative, so have a sub! Cheers.
Another GREAT video Arttea! There's a way to import ALL the nodes in Harvest Map without having to discover them. You just have to run a file they put into their addon folder. I do my crafting/refining in BlackWood now, before that it was Alinor. I really like to farm The Hollow City in Coldharbor for alchemist mats galore. They respawn so fast too! The entire city is just overloaded with nodes. I liked Alinor too for some unique harvesting (clams & fishing). I have a route that takes me all over Stros M'kai for balance of all nodes. I've always said BUG LOSS too. I'm shocked to find out some people would call it something else, even if that something else is correct. I'm not saying boogerloose.
Back in the days the top spot for boogie loose and alchemy plants was Coldharbour, in the town. I swear I never ran out of bag lost with just one weekly run.
BTW, in addition to my earlier reply and totally not related 😁😁 I think it would be wonderful to see/hear a live twitch/UA-cam stream from you. You have a wonderful sense of humour in your videos and I can imagine this is the same in live sessions 😀
@@Arttea I think Alinor is my favorite, and also has the most beautiful crafting area in the game! I rarely go back to Vvardenfell now, you should try it out a few times if you haven't already :)
Outside of peak hours, Hollow City has always done well for me for Alchemy mats. Even during peak hours, the nodes respawn pretty quickly, but definitely more efficient off peak.
You can't see it, but I just facepalmed myself. I can not believe that I forgot to mention the Hollow City! I gradually realized that it was an incredible spot to farm because of how many alchemy nodes I would run into while on my way to the luxury vendor every weekend. Thank you so much for mentioning this place!!
A kind soul introduced me to it and increased my income by a lot after playing for 3-4 months. I mention it in my gold making classes to my social guild all the time. :)
First time watching one of your videos, was helpful. I totally agree, Byugloss? Come on bro.. haha. That byug’d the sh*t out of me! On a side note, you should totally do those night time sleep app voice thingys.. your voice is soothing/calming :) keep up the vids!
bewgloss 🤣 cant believe you mentioned bal foyen and not mentioned the part thats most known for farming, (the wayshrine and coast on bottom right) so that was a shock, the rivenspire area you mentioned is also the start of the chest run i farm, so will check that out too, thanks for the info, subbed! 👍
Ah I figured that that area was worth not mentioning just because so many people do know about it. Most times that I port there, like for that one treasure map, the area is picked absolutely clean unfortunately, which would make for unconvincing footage for you guys haha And yeah there are a few chests there around the fells run area so being able to farm chests and mats at the same time is super handy! :)
Another few routes to try out sometime! Here's hoping for Farming Routes 2: Electric Buglossaloo! I am personally fond of Eastern Craglorn for my route. It's usually quiet at my playtimes and I've learnt some good nodes I can nab from nearby NPCs and get away.
I’m definitely planning on checking out all of the routes mentioned by you guys in the comments; it’s very likely I’ll make a part 2 some time down the line :) I’ll have to give eastern craglorn a shot!
Bugloss is said as BUG LOSS seems fairly simple and straight forward.. i think your commenter / stalker forget his medications.. it was a nice video.. though bal foyen can be a battlefield sometimes with the number of people who farm it.. though the spot you mentioned was spot on.. i tend to farm places people hate going which usually includes killing a few mobs then farming away without issues. i subscribed and look forward to your next video.. job well done..
Hi Arttea all initial zones are pretty good to farm materials. Stro's Makay, Kenarthis Roots, Betnick, Bleakrock, etc. I love North Elsweyr. The are so many nodes there, and of course craglorn. Thank you for the video and, please, forgive me for any lang mistakes :(
Hey! :D Your English is perfect, don’t worry! And yes you are right, I think starter zones may have the best potential for farming mats because the rates at which the nodes respawn are significantly higher than in other zones. Where in elsweyr do you like to farm mats? Like by which city/wayshrine? I’ve had a few commenters say that they like Elsweyr for farming, so I’m curious where they are going!
@@Arttea You are a very kind person. Thank you. About your question, around all North Elsweyr you have good spots to harvest materials. I like to do it between tenmar temple wayshire and hakoshae wayshire. Lots of nodes and few people to compete. ;)
Ohhhh yes now that you mention it, I have realized that that area DOES have a lot of nodes. I farmed around that path way back when Elsweyr came out, what a throwback! I’ll definitely include that area in the part 2 to this video that I’ll make some time later, and I’ll be sure to give you credit! Thanks for sharing :)
You can sync harvest map with other players if you go into live/addons/harvestmap and then run the file that ends with .bat it will then show all nodes on the map not just the ones you have discovered.
I often farm mats at Khenarthi's Roost. The whole island has great farming spots for wood, cloth, metals, runes, plants and chests. And lots of mudcrabs (for decorative wax, mudcrab chipit and leather stuff), torchbugs (for the beetle alchemy item) and also some beetles (for the same item) and some other easy mobs. Also a lot of water sacs. What is also wonderful about this place is that it is much easier to go here when you have an old/crappy/laggy pc. I have lots of lag and issues in almost every place EXCEPT for this one!
mispronunciation--- it happens, esp in fantasy worlds-- books, gaming, etc. in Warcraft, there is a character called Norgannon. I said "Nor GANN uhn" for years but it was supposed to be "Norga NON". Oh well. Enjoyed the vid, going to farm mats after reset today. Hang in there--- Keep making videos!!
I now go to Blackwood for crafting. Used to be auridon but the wayshrine is much closer in Blackwood and everything is right next to each other. I swear some places have woodworking way off the location shown on the map.
My preferred spot to do my workshopping is Northern Elsweyr, the open plaza is so nice especially on console so you don't have to run everywhere unloading and waiting for npc to reload again
ESO 2 electric bugaloss Also Velyn Harbor is my main city. Lowest population of any "main" city in the game, since it is the only one locked behind a quest to gain access to it. Writs can be done super quick, and the bank is also super close to the writ turn ins! Malabal Tor in general is just a very underappreciated zone
Thank you! And btw I love your channel name, it is unfortunate that glazed donuts do not exist in the Elder Scrolls universe. Sweetrolls will have to do
I used to craft in craglorn all the time when there were way more people playing. However as of late I craft in mournhold to monitor deals in zone chat because that's where all the main traders are on my platform.
After level 50/CP160, I mostly farm Craglorn, and Coldharbour, because of Contrast. Also, they're fairly wide open, so you can cover the distance fairly easily, but Ruby resource nodes are pretty bright red. So, they stand out on the Blue ground of Coldharbor, and the sands of Craglorn very well, when I'm zipping along at high speed. (I also farm with a Woodelf Stamina Sorcerer. Quick Cloak/Hasty Retreat, Hurricane, and Streak to jump gaps like rivers. So, you can miss them if you're not paying attention.) Alik'r Desert is High Contrast too, but it's not as easy to get around, because the material nodes are often up/down cliffs, and hard to get at.
Honestly, you have a girl's voice. So, there's guys that will look for something to correct you on. As if the pronunciation of "Bugloss" is that damned important. (Also note: Bugloss doesn't grow in Coldharbour, so don't bother looking for it there.)
I like farming around the coast of the island in Auridon. Or at least I think it was Auridon. It’s been a year or so since I’ve properly farmed materials.
2 years late to the party but Bugloss is an english bastardization of the french and greek pronounciations. So you should call it vovigliossa if I'm not mistaken, or just ox tongue.
I craft and do most for my writ dailies in Auridon, starting out I found that one to be the most conveniently placed, at least early game, though down the line I may switch to Summerset since it has an even better set up for crafting stations and is right next to the writ turn in areas. I just stick to Auridon now since I also do my mount training daily and I know the stables isn't far from the crafting stations
The Balfoyen Bowl - newb zones respawn more quickly, there's T-map and chest spawns there, and by the time you've done one circle, things are respawning
I have literally no interest in ever farming nodes but I saw this in my feed and immediately clicked on it for entertainment value while I had some cheese, crackers, and olives, before logging on to ESO for the night. Was not disappointed, except in how you pronounce Bouge-luis.
That is my favourite snack, you have good taste! I am glad I was able to provide some entertainment, and I hope you can find it in yourself to forgive my absolutely unbearable pronunciation of the word bog Louise
I used to refine and do my writs in Alinor in Summerset for the longest time, i am now using Vvardenfell more and more. like the setting a little better
I love farm in craglorn but i farm in others zones too like bangkorai, I don't like to farm in started zones because there are many people doing the same but when I have free time in the morning I go to farm this zones, for me are great places to farm; great video, ty for the info and I call the plats bug loss too xD, I didn't know the right pronunciation
Yeah the same can be said for Artaeum - it gets way too busy during "prime times", so you're better off going there earlier in the morning to farm mats. It looks like everyone here in the comments pronounces it that way lmao ;p
i really like the road at the southern border of northern elsweyr, you can start at scar's end wayshrine and go all the way to tenmar temple (or vice versa) and theres no challenge with remembering the route because its encased in mountains and the spots are pretty much everywhere you can go. also there are 3 of the treasure maps and 1 wb on this route edit: the highest density of materials is between scar's end and sunspire, after that it's not much but still some chests and psijik portals
Thank you! And no actually, although I am getting very close to being able to apply for the UA-cam partner program! :D If I get accepted, then I will be able to start monetizing my content!
Great content, keep it up! PS: ngl, I did watch the vid to learn new routes and also check if one of mine was disclosed , will need to fine new more routes, Bal Foyen has been compromised! lmao
Oh nooooo!! Haha, yeah I am fully aware that if enough eyes see this video, some routes may end up not being as profitable because too many people will be farming them! I found that Artaeum is unfortunately already kinda like that - I used to farm that place waaay back in the day, but ever since the introduction of the Antiquity system, it has become the hotspot for power levelling your scrying and excavating skill lines right? With so many players there during prime times, the place isn't nearly as profitable as it once used to be. The point of the video was to help players out... *dramatic voice* BUT AT WHAT COST?! ;p
@@Arttea is ok, there are lots of ways of making money and also ppl forgets that ESO has different instance on zones, so you can always land in an empty instance xP
First time i saw that plant in game i said "it's fuckin byu gloss isn't it" I hope that dude is seething, Vvardenfell best zone best city, thanks for another great vid.
I've always called it Bluegloss. I shit you not. I never even noticed until stumbling across your video in 2022 lol. I've played since release pretty much
Where do I go to my mat refining? Vivec. Been there for years. I have been doing the Vivec Loop for my daily writs since Vvardenfell was released. There are probably better spots now, but I run this track via muscle memory now, with no brain required. As for the actual material farming, I love Summerset. It is just beautiful. I do like Artaeum for the chance to get Pyandonean bottles while fishing. Most of my farming is passive. I only actively go after the surveys, but I harvest, loot, pickpocket or murder everything and everyone in my path while doing them. No mineral, vegetable or animal is safe when I am harvesting! 😬
I go to rimmen to break my stuff down and refine as quite literally everything but the stablemaster is in one place and just around the corner is some guild traders and i usually find good stuff there
Awesome video! Do you use an addon to filter what you auto-loot? Not having to "take-all" resource nodes would be nice, but I don't want to loot everything from containers.
Thanks! I do not actually, I just use the in-game feature called "auto loot", and I have it turned on. I'm not sure if you can filter things out, but you definitely want to be looting all of the remnants of nodes, chests, lockboxes etc so that a new one can respawn for yourself and other players that stumble upon the same spot. It's always a bummer to walk up to a chest and see that it has already been looted of all of the good stuff besides a lockpick ;p or when you go up to a Cornflower node to harvest it, but all the remains of the node is just an alchemical resin. I just sell off all of my excess loot that I do not want to a merchant :)
Rhawlka is my place cuz thats the best we had before morrowind came out, and the bank is right next to the wayshrine. I'm now calling it "boogerloose" from now on XD
I can’t imagine a Tamriel before Vvardenfell! Literally wasn’t around back then haha but I’ve heard plenty of stories. I guess that would explain why Rawlkha is still a very popular trading hub
Thanks for the excellent tips! I'm definitely going to try out these routes! I read something about the Speedy Knighblade farming build (being a newbie here so trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can 😁😁) Is this build really handy for farming materials or is it not really needed in your experience? Thanks again for all your wonderful videos! They are always fun to watch 😀 And Bugloss it is 😁😁
Ah I didn't know that! I wonder if the nodes in all of the starter zones are like that, it would explain why they have always made such great spots for farming materials - there always seems to be so many!
It is better to have a specific farm route and specific target with a time frame for one route completion so that nodes inside your farming routes are never harvested by other players. I have a ~2min farming route in Hew's Bane focusing solely on rubedite ore and platinum dust, you can start at any nodes but the trick with this kind of farming is that, when going farm through your route and reach your first node, it will spawn just as you reach the node thus makes it almost impossible for people to disrupt it, you go to the second node and then it spawn just as you reach it and so on. It needs a bit of concentration and practice and can be exhausting if you're trying to do it for multiple hours, I usually listen to music or audiobooks. You can easily make 150k per hour, I don't farm like that these days as I cumulate more than enough gold to buy for end-game gears and golding them out. I occasionally do the type of farming you do in this video, more relaxing and at any pace you want, usually while waiting for dungeons or when I got bored the living shit out of the game and still have some conscience that afking near Waysrhine isn't that productive.
Noteworthy parts of the video if you'd like to skip ahead to a particular segment! (:

I love Rimmen in Northern Elswyr for crafting. It’s right next to my Hall of Lunar Champion house and you turn in the writs pretty close by.
I really like that place too! I tried it out for a while there but I just couldn't part with Vvardenfell ;p
@@Arttea I think Alinor is my favorite, and also has the most beautiful crafting area in the game! I rarely go back to Vvardenfell now, you should try it out a few times if you haven't already :)
Just the right amount of sass 😂 subbed!
Just the intro mini story alone, already earned a like. Lol
Your videos are underrated! Great content and very helpful. Thank you! It's only a matter of time before you take off!
Thank you, that is very kind :)
Your videos are really high quality. 10/10
Thank you! :D
bewgloss 🤣
cant believe you mentioned bal foyen and not mentioned the part thats most known for farming, (the wayshrine and coast on bottom right) so that was a shock, the rivenspire area you mentioned is also the start of the chest run i farm, so will check that out too, thanks for the info, subbed! 👍
Ah I figured that that area was worth not mentioning just because so many people do know about it. Most times that I port there, like for that one treasure map, the area is picked absolutely clean unfortunately, which would make for unconvincing footage for you guys haha
And yeah there are a few chests there around the fells run area so being able to farm chests and mats at the same time is super handy!
So much information and thank you 😊
Not even 20 seconds into the video and that first skit about bugloss already had me laughing, take my sub.
3:33. I do everything in Mournhold, ever since I started playing. “Can you believe it!? Dragons! In your own homeland!”
Honestly desperately needed this. Also, I'm gonna be sharing your videos like crazy! Hopefully you grow fast here soon
It's true! He's how I found you
Hi Arttea all initial zones are pretty good to farm materials. Stro's Makay, Kenarthis Roots, Betnick, Bleakrock, etc. I love North Elsweyr. The are so many nodes there, and of course craglorn. Thank you for the video and, please, forgive me for any lang mistakes :(
Hey! :D
Your English is perfect, don’t worry!
I second this, it is so easy and useful
Wish I had a big brain like Arttea :(
We all want what we can’t have
Only been playing 3 weeks but I enjoy crafting in Markarth, all the stations are in one spot and it was one of my favorite towns when I played Skyrim
Great video! Very informative with some humor. Love it
I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
We have all always pronounced it as you are.
Tip of the hat for the salty into. Love it 😂
Your 'buge-loss' story is the first I ever heard your voice and you won my subscription. 😂😂😂😂
Another good loop is in Hews Bane. Can be crowded though during peak hours. Ive made so much money there.
Oh yeah I checked out Hews bane during an event (double node drops!) and was surprised to see just how node dense some areas are!
I now go to Blackwood for crafting. Used to be auridon but the wayshrine is much closer in Blackwood and everything is right next to each other.
I swear some places have woodworking way off the location shown on the map.
I called it blue gloss myself but I barely read the names.
My preferred spot to do my workshopping is Northern Elsweyr, the open plaza is so nice especially on console so you don't have to run everywhere unloading and waiting for npc to reload again
ESO 2 electric bugaloss
Also Velyn Harbor is my main city. Lowest population of any "main" city in the game, since it is the only one locked behind a quest to gain access to it. Writs can be done super quick, and the bank is also super close to the writ turn ins!
Malabal Tor in general is just a very underappreciated zone
Definitely bug. You might be my new favorite creator lol
Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! And btw I love your channel name, it is unfortunate that glazed donuts do not exist in the Elder Scrolls universe. Sweetrolls will have to do
Very true, I guess that makes me a rarity in ESO 😁
I’m so glad the algorithm sent me here (:
Thank you Susan Wojcicki 🙏
I used to craft in craglorn all the time when there were way more people playing. However as of late I craft in mournhold to monitor deals in zone chat because that's where all the main traders are on my platform.
It's BUGloss to me and will always be ...
Just keep doing what you do Arttea... your vids are great.
Oh and that's the south end wayshrine
I have literally no interest in ever farming nodes but I saw this in my feed and immediately clicked on it for entertainment value while I had some cheese, crackers, and olives, before logging on to ESO for the night. Was not disappointed, except in how you pronounce Bouge-luis.
That is my favourite snack, you have good taste! I am glad I was able to provide some entertainment, and I hope you can find it in yourself to forgive my absolutely unbearable pronunciation of the word bog Louise
@@Arttea It's going to be tough to get over this phonetic issue. But I'll do my best not to unsubscribe.
@@MichaelIbsenGuitar thank you for your mercy 🙏
I used to refine and do my writs in Alinor in Summerset for the longest time, i am now using Vvardenfell more and more. like the setting a little better
lol I love the boog a loose ! Just started playing this is super useful .
I say it the same way bug loss...tough if they don't like it. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for all the tips! I'm going to go farm some blue lip gloss right now!
i really like the road at the southern border of northern elsweyr, you can start at scar's end wayshrine and go all the way to tenmar temple (or vice versa) and theres no challenge with remembering the route because its encased in mountains and the spots are pretty much everywhere you can go. also there are 3 of the treasure maps and 1 wb on this route
edit: the highest density of materials is between scar's end and sunspire, after that it's not much but still some chests and psijik portals
I'm so glad she didn't say the best reagent farming spot.
Nice , thanks for the tips , and from this point on that plant is bug-loss ....lol
I like how you called yourself ''gentlewoman''. I have the power to welcome you into the cool dudes club as an honorary member.
Another great video Arttea! Keep up the good work! Just out of curiosity did your channel get monetized?
*dramatic voice* BUT AT WHAT COST?! ;p
@@Arttea is ok, there are lots of ways of making money and also ppl forgets that ESO has different instance on zones, so you can always land in an empty instance xP
mmm this is very true
Thank you, now I can finally spend time to level up my alchemy to get medicinal use
Keep up the good work.. Thanks for the videos ^^
Thank *you* for the kind words (:
Love your style! It's like Stephen Wright & Daria. Xtra points for breathing in Spanish 🤣
Vvardenfell is my fav place in eso by far. I always use it as my hub for all characters. 😎
I do my writs and refining in Alinor, Summerset. Everything is right there and the bank isn't too far away.
Thank you for another great video.
Just subbed because she said “brah” ... BUG-loss is how I say it. If you you don’t like it ... tuff. Good work miss.
Haha thanks mate! :D
First time i saw that plant in game i said "it's fuckin byu gloss isn't it"
I hope that dude is seething, Vvardenfell best zone best city, thanks for another great vid.
And Blackwood is my go to for crafting. Literally everything is in one small area with no zoning into buildings or anything.
LOL I was thinking it was Bugloss this whole time!
Apparently, we all were lmao
Great video, thanks!
Thank you for your advice, helpful for new player. Although CP issues not really useful for a new player.
Thanks for the excellent tips! I'm definitely going to try out these routes!
I read something about the Speedy Knighblade farming build (being a newbie here so trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can 😁😁)
Is this build really handy for farming materials or is it not really needed in your experience?
Thanks again for all your wonderful videos! They are always fun to watch 😀
And Bugloss it is 😁😁
In bleakrock isle the rubidite and jewelry nodes are on 2 min times so you can easily make a 2 min path
Ah I didn't know that! I wonder if the nodes in all of the starter zones are like that, it would explain why they have always made such great spots for farming materials - there always seems to be so many!
@@Arttea nope, I tested most of them and bleakrock has the shortest timers and most consistent. I arrive at the node as it's respawning
