Price does not = a car being a future classic …
The mk1 focus RS is a future classic however the mk2 cost more currently.
The mk5 is desirable and enjoyed by many (including myself) and worth the money people ask for a clean example, that does not make it a classic.
As I stated in my video, the existence of the MK4 R32 will hold the MK5 R32 back purely as it was the first.
@@antonlevelup I agree in some ways but disagree in others. A car being the first doesn’t necessarily restrict what the later versions will do in the market. While I do agree that the mk4 golf will end up being worth more, the mk5 will still be a future classic. The focus as an example doesn’t make much sense because I think the mk2s will continue to be worth more than the mk1s.
With your logic mk3 golf vr6s should be worth a tonne by now. Asking 15-20k tor 15+ year old golfs isn’t normal 😂 15+ year old anything rarely goes for that sort of money unless it’s a supercar or a future classic.
Mk5 r32 doesn't looks special. Front end similar to jetta with the chrome.. seats are like tdi seats.. side skirts tiny.. don't think it will ever be something that is desired.. awsome car tho.. mk4 R32 is some thing special built by enthusiast big beefer bumpers konig seats 4wd it got the lot.. the shape is absolutely timeless. Mk3 vr6 was to plain apart from the lovely vr6 engine

I have both a mk4 and mk5 r32. Love them both! Mk4 absolutely is my favorite between the 2 and its more aesthetically pleasing. But you’re right about the mk5, definitely more desirable with the dsg

Agreed I have MK4 r32 for few years and my mate has the mk5 r32 In dsg.. mk4 feels more raw and special I gets guys praising it all time.. mk5 I don't when drove his and the dsg is nice and comfortable but the mk4 r22 feels faster.. the dsg is like it always in a higher gear when you want to put foot down feels abit less go then the mk4 manual

Great combo V6 + Charger.As much as I prefer a Turbo R32 you do loose a lot of that V6 noise.
Curious what fuel consumption averages with a supercharger...

I think that’s how they all are, mk5 got the black headliner
@@antonlevelup Nope. My Mk5 in Blue has the cream trim/headliner. Very dark grey (but not quite black) dash and center console etc. Pretty sure all the blues were like that.
You are right about the vw performance R range they should look aggressive, I when for a 16 plate scirocco r over a golf. It's all about the looks. 👍
i think hot hatches should all have wide arches so you can seperate from the lower models. its a shame the mk4 doesnt have wider arches regarding the mk2 focus rs is will definitly be a future classic its a wide 5 pot rs with wing backs and very agressive wait till the electric takes over cars are dull now

Cheapest one in mainland Europe is 9500 EUR and has 200k miles l 🤣 as always Uk is playing catch up.

Cheapest one here is 4k just been offered one for 6.5k with wingback. Only people who are hoping it’s a future classic are the mk5 owners 😂

2:00 I don't agree with the mk8, I think it took a step back like the mk4-mk5 on the meanness appeal. Mk7.5 looked much more aggressive vs the mk8 and lost many of the aggressive lines.
I think in stock form you are correct, the 7.5 is a much better looking car but wit a few simple modifications the mk8 is a very aggressive looking car with a very box shape up front and behind. Not overlay keen in stock form.

N/A with every mod possible, the only thing I can do is either Turbo or S/C. I have no plans on ever doing either as I feel they will make the car more problematic💯

Mk4 does sound better though…I’ve had both…and mk5 easier to live with as you aren’t shitting yourself that the chains will stretch 😂
The mistake vw made for the mk5 was to not offer the 3.6 to make it special! Is it really slow stock? Not really, it kills all gti's at the traffic lights, and the V8s. Thats good enough for me.But yes, mk4 more status for sure.
