Lyrics: Punishment
[Intro]
Come on god, answer me. For years I'm asking why, why are the innocent dead and the guilty alive? Where is justice? Where is punishment? Or have you already answered, have you already said to the world here is justice, here is punishment, here, in me
I question not me, it only happens to others
I can't deny reality as life gets smothered
If the lines can be read between
Maybe you can tell me then what it all means
'Cause he who paints the big picture runs the whole scene
Locked down, I gotta get it out
Impending doom, a cloud above my head
Why me? My faith has been devout
Blasphemous? Am I better off dead?
Punishment, for all my sins
A burning thought inside my mind
Has me full of pity for all of humankind
As we move forth, we fall further behind
Fear of death, will my life go on?
Controllled fate? On the corner rolling dice
Punishment, but I've done nothing wrong
In my eyes, who really pays the price
My lament, for the human race
Guilty, punishment for all my sins
Same era, same-ish genre, same city: Sick Of It All - Step Down!
Such a hard hitting Classic!!! Saw the video back in the day and also immediately ran out to get the UD cassette! Amazing album!! The video kicks absolutely ass!!! Great reaction by you two!! I met Billy and Bobby back in '95 after the Slayer/Biohazard/Machinehead and they were/are some of the most down to earth, awesome guys!! Much respect from this Queens boy!
Same thing, ran out and grabbed up this album as soon as I heard/saw the video.
The original lineup is back together now and playing shows. They sound just as good as ever, too.
Yes, saw them last September! So friggin' good!
Were you ever into Dog Eat Dog? Another band from that era that I really liked.
Plus, Dog Eat Dog members are in this video, along w/ lots of others from NYHC bands too (like members of Agnostic Front, Merauder, Crown of Thornz, 25 ta Life, Madball, etc). Also, "Shades of Gray" video has even more bands and well-known members of NYHC scene in it too
Awesome! Been ages since I've listened to these guys... nice work, and great reaction. Cheers.
The entire album is excellent, classic. They don't make music like that anymore.
Forget that shit they're calling hardcore nowadays, THIS is the real deal.
Really there are still some good hardcore bands today ; Berthold City, cruel hand, left behind, lionheart, Magnitude, Fury, restraining order ect
Another classic!
I PLAYED THIS BAD ASS SHIIT LIKE EVERYDAY MAN! WENT THROUGH 3 CD'S MAN! actually got in a car accident back in 93 with this in a cd player the song wrong side of the tracks was on and all I remember was I was gonna pack a bowl then the car got light as hell I grabbed the ohh shit handle "said to myself or maybe out loud this is gonna hurt..fuck" Next thing I kno im in the middle of thruway during rush hour with the ohh shit handle in my hand still, apparently ripped it out of the carthinking im gonna die but im not dead yet broken femur, broken clavical and also shoulder bone road rash all that shit was super gnarly still think about it man!also stuck with this 16 in 9mm titanium rod in-between my femur bone fuckin gnarly
Omg... The best...
I remember watching this on MTV headbangers ball a few hundred times ! Thanks !🤘🤘
Another great band! We listened to a lot of the same music when we were younger... absolutely love it!!
I saw Biohazard at Wacken 2015.The have still the same energy on Stage man.The " Our Stage is your Stage " times are over, but they still Kick some serious Ass.
This year I saw Billy Bio in Hamburg with L.O.A. on an old Warship. It was an amazing concert.Billy played some Biohazard classics like Shades of Grey as well.
Amazing guy!
Have not heard this song in ages! Yes, played all the time on Loud. Muchmusic was pretty cool in the early 90s for having metal shows, and playing lots of indie music.
Billy's belt buckle has the punisher logo if you look closely ;)
☣️☣️☣️ pure classic NYHC 🔥🔥🔥
HMV records? Are y'all from Philly? I saw Deftones at HMV in 97-98?
Toronto
Sylosis - Teras
Allegaeon - Proponent for Sentience III
SWALLOW THE SUN - Upon The Water (Album Track) - ua-cam.com/video/n7AnGqSpeg0/v-deo.html
Yeah, i've been waiting for this! Great reaction ;)
Everytime someone mentions Biohazard, i have to think of "Punishment" thats right, but as well of "Tales from the Hardside" from the State of the world adress Album, still my two favorite songs of them.
What Makes Us Tick is one of my favorites from State of The World Address
Biohazard's first album which is a self titled album has two bad ass songs that open with two movie quotes from bad ass movies. The first song "Retribution" opens up with some audio footage of Michael Corleone speaking from the movie the Godfather II. Also off the same album, a song titled "Wrong side of the tracks" has some audio footage from the movie "The Warriors" which is a late 1970's movie about NY street gangs. The first album is one of my favorite NYHC albums of all time. Sick of it All is also a good band, check out Scratch the Surface.
Love Biohazard!! Listen to Sick of it all or vision of disorder
Looooved these guys in the 90s. Used this song when i was banging steel at the forge.
Hi guys you are so great!! Urban Discipline is still one of best album ever
Actually a good explanation at the beginning
🤘🏽🇧🇷 disciplina urbana
Evan Seinfeld was also in "OZ" on HBO series back in the day
I ve seen Bio live twice on 90`s, I love their old stuff
I miss this era! Also, Carnivore's "Retaliation" and the first Sick Of It All record are greatness!
Nice Video Bro..
Haven't seen this video for years.
One thing i think you've mistaken.. it's Willie not Chris.
True dat...thanks for the rectification, how the hell did I confused the Adlers?
@@APREACTS you're welcome! Keep up the good work.
@@APREACTS well at least you didn't say Steven Adler ;)
LMAO I am shocked I didn't
Nice. I remember when I saw this video in "Fúria Metal (Braziliam MTV) in 90's ( in beggining).
Tears of Blood is my favorite song on this album.
Shades of Grey is mine.
Saw these guys in 1997 as well as Helmet. You gus should do a Unsung review by helmet.
The most best representation of metal and rap
Absolute amazing Band....saw them together with Suicidal Tendencies....best Moshpits ever 3:) !....so next CANT BRING ME DOWN or HOW WILL I LAUGH.......Headbangers Ball....Glory Days...with Vanessa Warwickhere in Europe
Powerflo was Bobby other project first seen them back in 92_at the marquee with Downset and Dog eat dog what a one up
WILLIE ADLER, not Chris Adler.
5 Blocks is from State of the World Address.
Have you checked out BillyBio's new solo album? It just came out in November. He released it after Powerflo. The videos he's released for the album are really good and sound like Biohazard at their peak.
Indeed, I like his solo stuff more than Powerflo to be honest. I wanted to see him live when he came to Toronto, but I was at Alien Weaponry show that night.
@@APREACTS Same, didn't quite vibe on Powerflo but Billybio is great. He was touring with Life of Agony. I loved the first Life of Agony album.
That first album hasn't been matched since.
@@APREACTS 100% true
@@APREACTS Have you had a chance to hear the new Metal Church album? The first two singles "Damned If You Do" and "By The Numbers" are fantastic. Best stuff I've heard since their early stuff.
Urban discipline is best.do one one " Five Blocks to the subway"
Powerflo the other band. good vid guys
Youre very right about the image
Check out Billy Bio's solo project "Feed the fire"
i saw these at monsters of rock @ donnington in 1996...............fucking amazing
that must have been incredible.
Not Chris, he is the drummer
Great band. This song makes you want to go to war or climb mountains.
Loved this video/song. So I bought the tape, it was rather disappointing. Still love this track though. Lead singer got involved in the porn industry with his former wife; Tera Patrick. Spinoronni??? That's a new word
you guys should check out Verjnuarmu - Laalavat jouset its another finnish band and just as wierd and interesting as turmion kätilöt
Brutal!!!!
Please, react to "The Writer", "Back to Zero", "Infest", "Deep Sleep" , "From The Depths" or "Story Of a Strange" from Breakdown Of Sanity!

We did Punishment
@@APREACTS I mean, Biohazard - Skullcrusher :D
It’s not chris Adler it’s Willy Adler lol
I wonder, why this type of music isn't called rap metal or metal rap? If you have spare time, please check out the Finnish metal super group called Cain's Offering consisting of Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius), Jani Liimatainen (Sonata Arctica, The Dark Element), Jani Huurula (The Dark Element), Jonas Kuhlberg (The Dark Element) and Jens Johansson (Stratovarius & Richie Blackmore's Rainbow project).
I can see why you would ask that question. This is just my opinion, I can come up with two answers off the top of my head. First, this came out a few years before I ever heard the term rap-metal. Second, in a lot of ways, this song and a couple others that the band did are not really the norm of the style that Biohazard did. Don’t get me wrong, you can hear some hip-hop influence in almost every Biohazard song but in most of them, it’s more in the beats than the lyrics. I won’t bother to argue whether it is or isn’t rap-metal because I think some of it could definitely be classified that way using genre terms that we know now. For me, it’s kind of like looking back at a lot of the ‘70s or ‘80s metal that I grew up on and that has always just been called metal and reclassifying it as blues metal because of the heavy blues influence. If you look back at the late ‘80s NYHC scene that Biohazard came out of, while not to the extent that Biohazard had, most of those bands had at least a little hip-hop blended in. Like I said earlier though, I think timing is the biggest factor. If they had came out or hit it big just a couple years later, I think that they would have been lumped in with the rap-metal far more than what they were.
Thank you for mentioning Cain’s Offering. I had not heard of them and will check them out. I’m not a huge fan of Symphonic/Melodic styles of metal as a whole but I really enjoy certain bands and certain albums. Of the bands you listed, I like a little bit of the Dark Element and about half of Sonata Arctica’s songs. I sometimes listen to a little Nightwish, Tristania, Sirenia, Theron and others though. During the time I was typing this, I listened to Constellation of Tears and Stormcrow. Not bad. Good enough for me to listen to some more.
@@biohazard_613 Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that you enjoyed some Cain's Offering while typing your answer to my comment. Should you be into progressive metal (with symphonic elements), I just discovered the quite new Israeli band Scardust & their two albums "Sands of Time" (2017, re-release 2019) and "Strangers" (2020).
@@tarmotyyri6733 not sure of the spelling or grammar but olet tervetullut ja kiitos. That is about half of my Finnish vocabulary that I remember from visiting relatives 35 years ago in Lulea, Sweden and Simo, Finland. The rest of it is hei, nimeni on, mukava tavata sinut and hyvasti. I will check out your new recommendation also.
@@biohazard_613 The Finnish that you still remember goes a long way when dealing with Finns that you haven't met before.
P.S. Regardless of how you find Scardust, I'd like to hear your opinion.
@@tarmotyyri6733 I haven’t got to listen yet, too much to do today. Hopefully I’ll get a chance tomorrow.
Ironically, the family in Sweden had me practice for what seemed like forever but when we got over the border to visit the Finnish branch, they all spoke very good English. The Swedish side knew this and got a great laugh out of it.
Please react: THE SPIRIT - Illuminate The Night Sky. You won't regret!!))
I know...I did an album review for them.
Granda Banda, punishment 😅
PLEASE REACT "Ancient Bards - Impious Dystopia" 🤘🤘🤘
I loved this band back then. Really. But i can not listen to more than one song by them today. There are tons of better hardcore/metal mixing bands. I mean hardcore, not "hardcore" how they claim hardcore to be.
Yous should react to Hearts of iron and attero Dominatus by sabaton they are awesome songs
Cult 🤘🤘
Always evan Seinfeld Evan forever!!! Fuck!!!!
Check out Orbit Culture - Saw.
They're a swedish melodic death metalband from Sweden and they KICK ASS.
Vocalists cleans sounds a lot like a young James Hetfield!!
