Richard and Elizabeth are my favorite couple too. They lived a real love story.

Real love is partnered with excitement and passion. These two had both. It was truly a love like no other. No milk toast, gutless love here. How lucky they were to feel so deeply for eachother. Those that always condemn these two are the ones that could never comprehend how deeply one can love. Resentment, jealously and arrogance belong to those that have always criticized them. Their boring dull lives and marriages are always a reminder of what they never got ! RIP Elizabeth and Richard. You were two of the truly lucky ones ! 💙💙

Many years ago Elizabeth said - when she died, she wanted to be buried in Wales in the village where Richard Burton is laid to rest. Does anyone remember that ?

Elizabeth did say she would be buried in Wales and that part of Rich that was in her would be buried in his hometown. But Rich died in 1984 which was 27 years ago. Her friendship with MJ and his death might have made her change her mind. She rests in the magnificent Hall at Forest Lawn as befitting a Queen by the Statue of Memory. Even in just these still photos, she seems perennially innocent and sweet, like a young girl in love, and he seems like a mean ogre. It's so sad that good men are so hard to find for us good girls who are so deserving.
I loved Liz. She was a firecracker. Raised hell with Louis Mayer because he was rude to her mom..and Liz was a little girl then. I loved her spunk and courage. She was one of the first outspoken celebrities regarding HIV and worked tirelessly the rest of her life.

Elizabeth got the letter he posted the day before he passed when she got home from the memorial service for him, which by the way she Elizabeth sat amidst the Jenkins family. Never let anyone read it and was buried with it. Nah , that wasn't love.

I've always been suspicious of sally hay since reading graham Jenkins comment on her inheriting all of Richards money and the fact she banned Elizabeth from his funeral which I thought was absolutely ridiculous seen as though Elisabeth's own children were attending. Those actions alone, to me, just make this woman seem mean spirited and spiteful. I also agree with Elisabeth's comment that they would have been married for a third time such a shame he passed away
+MelissaChelsea0292 I agree it was spiteful since as you say her children attended and she was his past. His friend still. Elizabeth should've been allowed to attend. But she obviously felt threatened by her ...Richard still loved Elizabeth and in fact never had stopped loving her. Like he said, "I adored Elizabeth and I still do I just cant live with her..." This made me laugh because you can get that kind of love developing between two people. There is no doubt in my mind that they loved each other and even at the time of his death that he did still love her.. Which was probably why his wife didn't want her there.
+Heather Mallard You Elizabeth Taylor fans are so hypocritical. I like to point out that Richard Burton discarded Elizabeth Taylor after the same years for another woman (Susan Hunt) as he did with his first wife Sybil.
+Robin Reed I never disputed that fact, I I have no illusions that Richard was perfect and he certainly had his issues with commitment. I just feel that Sally Hay was not a very nice person by the way she behaved during her marriage to Richard and after and in my opinion I think if Richard and Elizabeth could have cleaned their act up during the time they were married together, after everything I've read and know, then I genuinely feel they could have had a good go at making it last. I could be completely wrong we will never know!! But just my opinion.

@RichardElden Oh. I knew he died in Switzerland, but I thought he was buried in Wales. I have a vivid recollection of Elizabeth being interviewed on TV from his village, saying she would be back, - to be interred near him. Ah well, ... perhaps it was just romantic fantasy on my part:..... it was a long time ago ! Still, their love is a wonderous thing to remember.
It was written in Mr. Burton's will for him to be buried in Celigny. This is according to a book by David Jenkins. He also said that the only formal request to be buried in the family plot in Wales was when Richard was married to Susan.

The only people who have delusions and hatred is you and Elizabeth Taylor toward Sally Hay. What was so great for Ms. Taylor to marry Richard Burton again. He was a physical wreck due to his abuse of alcohol and definetely wanted to live the simple life in Celigny when he wasn't acting.
I know it's been awhile since you wrote your comment, there's no delusion, Sally was a jealous woman, period end of story. If you choose to be blind to it, so be it.
