The amount of silicone to fill the mold. Add the starch gradually to make the mass look like a paste. A small amount of dye to obtain a saturated color. In my video "boot for CV joints" the weight of the finished product is 5 grams (mix quantity: silicone 6 grams, starch 1 gram, the amount of dye is enough to get the desired color. Drying time 1.5 hours). The more starch, the harder the final product will be.
I want to make solid 1:24 scale tires using an existing tire to make molds from. My idea is to make two halves and glue together so I can make a custom width tire. Can this material be glued once 'dry'?
Heyy @dreid I brought your 3d file and mould is awsom, but many times I tried to fill silicon in it, silicon dry in few minutes, please suggest a solution for dry slowly
Wow! This is really good! I just have a couple of questions, 1) what's the reason for using starch? Also at 7:40 you use a thin bead of silicone (?) and then a thick one at 7:50. 2) What are the difference between the two? Thanks!
@@dreid17 No worries my friend, I figured it out on my own just took a little more brain power then I was using at the moment my mold will take me 12 hours to print out both halves I hope to have some pictures to show you once they are done
I know it's been awhile since my last update to you about my mold I printed on my A8 using pla my first attempt did not come out as good as I wanted it to so my cousin did a resin print of the mold for me on his X1 x01 resin printer and they came out excellent the issue that I'm having now is trying to get the tire to release from the mold without ripping in half I even use a mesh drywall tape inside of the tire after about four layers of the silicone and cornstarch mixture I do not know what to use for a mold release
Very very nice looking, I wait your whole built to see the grip on different surface and the global feeling you have with it. Your mixture is nice from here but I would like to see the silicone base on rock, gravel and at different speed. So... I was necessary now a follower of your channel 😁😁👍

Thanks for this excellent instruction video. Can you please tell me what you are adding to the mix at 7:40 in the video? and are you using any specific type of Silicone as the base mixture?
OK Thanks It looks like a much thinner and finer consistency to the rest of the silicone used elsewhere. Was this just from another tube or something like that?
WOW, man...
Those came out GOOD!
Im super interested in making these molds for my gas rc car I’m going to make. How much of each ingredient is needed for one tire?

Yes, you can glue it with the same mixture

Hi. To make it dry longer, you need to add less starch.

Any grease, greasy cream, or machine grease can be used to lubricate the mold. Silicone does not stick to it.
It is just regular silicon? Can be it just black one out of tube?
Yes, it's just silicone.
Yes, it's just silicone.
What is the starch for ? Why not just use black silicone ?
Black silicone can be used. Starch is needed to make the silicone dry faster and harder.
Could the same concept be applied to make off-road knobby tires?
Yes quite
