- Making tires for a radio-controlled electric car project. The tires are made of silicone, starch and black toner from the printer. Any color of silicone sealant can be used. There is a foam tape inside the wheel. A plastic court is inserted into the sidewalls to reinforce the wheel. Form for filling with silicone is printed on a 3D printer. After filling the mold with silicone, dry for 24 hours.

Wow! This is really good! I just have a couple of questions, 1) what's the reason for using starch? Also at 7:40 you use a thin bead of silicone (?) and then a thick one at 7:50. 2) What are the difference between the two? Thanks!
Hello. 1) Using starch to quickly cure silicone and give the desired density. 2) To extrude the silicone faster.

Im super interested in making these molds for my gas rc car I’m going to make. How much of each ingredient is needed for one tire?
The amount of silicone to fill the mold. Add the starch gradually to make the mass look like a paste. A small amount of dye to obtain a saturated color. In my video "boot for CV joints" the weight of the finished product is 5 grams (mix quantity: silicone 6 grams, starch 1 gram, the amount of dye is enough to get the desired color. Drying time 1.5 hours). The more starch, the harder the final product will be.

I want to make solid 1:24 scale tires using an existing tire to make molds from. My idea is to make two halves and glue together so I can make a custom width tire. Can this material be glued once 'dry'?
Current tires are too fat so I want to make skinnier tires.

What is the starch for ? Why not just use black silicone ?
Black silicone can be used. Starch is needed to make the silicone dry faster and harder.

@@dreid17 No worries my friend, I figured it out on my own just took a little more brain power then I was using at the moment my mold will take me 12 hours to print out both halves I hope to have some pictures to show you once they are done
I know it's been awhile since my last update to you about my mold I printed on my A8 using pla my first attempt did not come out as good as I wanted it to so my cousin did a resin print of the mold for me on his X1 x01 resin printer and they came out excellent the issue that I'm having now is trying to get the tire to release from the mold without ripping in half I even use a mesh drywall tape inside of the tire after about four layers of the silicone and cornstarch mixture I do not know what to use for a mold release
Any grease, greasy cream, or machine grease can be used to lubricate the mold. Silicone does not stick to it.
What is the scale with real tires?? I want to buy 1:10 scania truck rc tires, can you make them for me???
The scale of real tires is 810 mm. I only do 3D models.
