I saw Gloryhammer a few years ago in a tiny club in Kansas City and they were so much fun. It was the middle of summer, the AC wasn't working, and it was HOT. All the guys are wearing costumes and just dying from the heat. The whole time, "Angus" was such a great showman and entertainer. He kept making jokes about how hot it was, but carried on as if he was performing for 30,000 fans, and not just 300. I wasn't sure about how good his solo effort would be, but the two songs so far have been outstanding.
That’s awesome. Great entertainers are so cool to see. I saw Korn once when Jonathan Davis was clearly deathly ill with the flu on stage. He powered thru for the fans in the TN humidity even tho he couldn’t do bagpipe solos while standing. Can’t wait to catch Angus McSix live someday. Happy to support groups like that

Wathing her headbang when playing "Dinosaur" live is incredible.
Definitely need to give Lazer-Shooting Dinosaur a listen too. Ultimate cheese but it's an even bigger banger than their 'main' songs.
Angus/Winklers new band is beyond awesome. Haven't been this excited for an album drop in years.

I'm a simple man. I like my metal music with heaps of cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, red leicester, monterey jack, and every other cheese you can imagine.
Oh my gosh, how I've missed cheeseball power metal! My first introductions to the world of metal was Rammstein and Rhapsody (of Fire), and a little bit of Dragonforce thrown in (I think Inhuman Rampage was just released). And man, I _LOVED_ Rhapsody's music. I still love The Magic of the Wizard's Dream, featuring Christopher Lee. I remember having my socks knocked off when I found out Lee did the narration for one of their albums! I particularly loved Rhapsody for their combination of orchestral music and a neo-classical-inspired style of metal. Before I got into metal when I was a senior in high school, all I really listened to listened to classical, film/video game scores, big band jazz, and music written for wind ensemble bands. I still have a soft spot for metal with orchestral elements, which is one of the reasons why I love Lorna Shore and why I naturally transitioned to Nightwish after Rhapsody.
I love the lineup in Angus McSix; I love how it's a supergroup; I love this song. Thank you, thank you, Tank!
I prefer the first Single - Master of the Universe - but this is still a great song. can't wait for the album and I still hope Seb got some singing lines.
Also there is at least one "metal" band without a guitar player. May I remind you of Van Canto?

I forgot it was his sub notification sound and at first I thought he added it in post and I was trying to figure out what he said that warranted that response 😂
Themes and cheese aside, at the musicianship level this band is simply outstanding.
So far the two songs they have released are absolute bangers and the bar doesn't seem to go lower but higher. I guess this is to be expected with such a lineup.
See them as opening act for Feuerschwanz on the 19. april in Z7 swotzerland and I'm really exciting
There is also a new Feuerschwanz song. It's the first single from their upcoming album "Fegefeuer". Also worth checking out for sure.

If you're talking about the guard of the sword, then yes, it is Godawful. If the guard was vertical and not horizontal, it would've looked better. I even said that sword looks good, but the guard the prop department used is outright dogshit somewhere in Master of the Universe video.
whoever designed the sword did not realize that it looks like “ninecalibur” when thomas is actually holding it, sort of like they forgot that six upside down is nine.
caught their show at wacken, I had no idea what was that haha it was great fun...especially when they sent a dude crowd surfing on an inflattable unicorn to get beer haha
It's great that you're still doing these even though you're regularly employed again. I enjoyed this immensely and you brought a hella unique touch! Hopefully, you can book a gig with these guys and provide behind-the-scenes videos. Stay cool and funny bro!

Glad you liked this so much. From what I've seen, most of us seem to prefer their other single so far. I'd say it has more cheese, definitely in the lyrics, and it has that key change you were expecting. You should definitely check it out

Seeb plays both guitar and bass, so we'll have to see which one(s) he'll play live.
As others suggested, you should watch Master of the Universe for the truly classic power metal feel you want. It's also one hell of a diss track towards his former band. I've rarely been so entertained by a guy pissing all over those who aggrieved him (figuratively, of course).
I will say, this track is a genuine earworm, though MotU is also quite a banger.

I do really like this song and Master Of The Universe and I've ordered it a while ago but I really hope that there will be also really fast songs with great melodies, that a typical Power Metal, because in both singles was almost only slow mid tempo without double kick

You need to hear Master of the Universe and Kepper of the Celestial Flame also. They are masterpieces
What I will be excited to see is whether they will develop an overall concept that comes close to Gloryhammer's, I imagine they will definitely try. But there is something to be said about the mad songwriting/storytelling genius of Chris Bowes that is hard to replicate.

There are some electronic music groups that have a live lineup consisting of drums, multiple keyboards and vocals. But I doubt that will be a thing in rock/metal.
What i notice is quite the opposite: Why do powermetal bands not have a keyboarders on stage? Many have relatively simple synths that could be played live. Instead they go for a backing track and I don't get it.

Why would that matter? Tons of bands have members in multiple bands that are on different labels.

You know I like to think Gloryhammer, Anges Mcsix, Amarathe, Wind Rose, Powerwolf and Alestorm all exist in a Cinematic Metalverse
Genuine question, honestly not familiar with these folks and admittedly I may just be old, but a few parts of this really sounded like the old 80s He-Man/MotU commercials - is that like the intentional vibe or just coincidence (I caught pieces of the vid and honestly that just made it seem intentional, but not being familiar with them I may just be whooshing).
It's a bop either way, but I kept expecting to hear "He-Man" somewhere in there 😅

I already heard it. If I'm being honest, it's cool, but nothing insanely special. I'd prefer to listen to those guys in all of their respective bands rather than Project Vengeance. But at the end of the day, it just seems like a bunch of friends having fun together, and that's super cool.
