This was a fun video and cool, catchy song. You breakdown and tank facts only added to the fun, like usual I may add, and looking forward to next one. Thanks Tank!
You can’t really go wrong with any Gloryhammer song. The cheese factor is present through all of them. ;-D My favorite by them is Apocalypse 1992. But as you said the song Gloryhammer is a great way to go. On a similar note of songs that are rehashed, several of the Nightwish albums really borrow elements from each other. I think it’s most apparent in the intro to Bye Bye Beautiful (Dark Passion Play) and Alpenglow (Endless Forms Most Beautiful). It’s basically the same key work with a couple notes difference at the end. You’re still pretty new to Nightwish but once you start listening to a lot of their stuff consistently you’ll notice the similarities.
I think I saw someone call it Intergalactic Space Metal recently lol. Thought that fit pretty well. You should definitely check out their self titled track next. That's what really got me started checking them out recently. As for a new suggestion, not sure if anyone recommended Serenity - Lionheart to you yet. Austrian Symphonic Power Metal band. And while I can't necessarily say for all their music as I recently discovered them, that album is basically crusader metal and it's great lol. I've head banged so hard to that song despite it not really being that heavy. Interestingly enough, their singer is also the singer of Warkings.
You said the magic word, Warhammer 40k :D There's such thing as Warhammer metal :D I have a few recommendations: Rylanor's Last Stand - Original Song - ft. George Hoctor & Cpl. Corgi . There's Bolt Thrower, they also just do Warhammer metal songs. There's more but I think this is a good start :D
Personally surprised it was Hootsforce. I think "Unicorn invasion of Dundee", "Angus Mcfife", "Gloryhammer", "Legend of the Astral Hammer" or "Universe on Fire" would have been a better intro to them.
Another really good song is by a Japanese metal band called "ningen isu" with the song "heartless scat". They are more of a heavy metal sound. I came across them when I was looking for Japanese metal and rock to aid with my listening skills of Japanese, was not disappointed
ayy saw these guys live a couple years ago. they are absolutely fantastic performers and i accidentally bumped into Thomas in the crowd while Alestorm was performing. he's such a sweet guy, being an active listener to me ramble and be starstruck lol
I remember going to see gloryhammer in what I think was their first ever show in London UK Boston music rooms it was so badly promoted that I think there was probably only about 25 of us there and it was epic
Heard you say space metal, and immediately Star One came to mind - they literally have an album called Space Metal. It's Arjen Lucassen's another project ;) They have one Live DVD, would be awesome to see you react to the song Intergalactic Space Crusaders! Cheers!
Basically anything gloryhammer makes is gold. I suggest universe on fire, hail to crail, magic dragon, and that's just a small sample of the medium faves of mine.
I'd not noticed the rif copy! Good spot. I love Gloryhammer, they are silly and do not take themselves seriously. They are super fun live, start with a cardboard cutout of tom Jones, encourage crowd surfing for questlords of Inverness etc. It's the only place I've seen both someone in a unicorn onesie and full plate in the mosh pit, the full plate person also crowdsurfed! I'm going to say you need to start at the beginning with Angus Mcfife or Unicorn invasion of Dundee (a song which makes me giggle whenever I hear it!) Also you can now react to Valhalelula as you know who Angus is!
Snort! Super enjoyable. Some of the best bands today just pour on the parody and have a great time. When a band can make such fun of their own genre, and still show everyone HOW IT'S DONE, they definitely get my vote.
HAIL HOOTS! My 5yo loves watching the Wacken 2019 Live to spot the unicorn toys and costumes in the crowd. "Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is the very first chapter of this interdimensional saga. "Angus McFife" introduces you to the 1st Angus McFife; in this video he's the 13th. Once you've gotten to know both Alestorm and Gloryhammer a bit, try Sabadu's "Mighty Polish Tank", parodying Sabaton. Christopher Bowes says he didn't do it but there are clear markers there.
Gloryhammer is one of my favorite bands and the band that got me into listening to Power metal. The very first song I heard from them was "Universe On Fire". I can recommend so many great ones like "The Land of Unicorns", "The Siege of Dunkeld", "Rise of the Chaos Wizards" or "Masters of the Galaxy". I can also recommend the rest of their songs.

RavensaursRex : Also known as "What if Warhammer 40k wasn't depressing as balls." E.H. Bienz: I was just gonna dismissively call this "Alestorm in SPAAAACE" but turns out that's literally what it is. Michael Campbell : There's been something about this band which has been bothering me for a long time: How can Zargothrax be manning the band's keyboards when he's their arch-nemesis? Simple! The Zargothrax with the band is actually a pan-dimensional champion of justice who wanders the multiverse destroying evil versions of himself! I mean, it's SO obvious! *And my personal top 3 in no particular order* AnonEyeMouse : The perfect balance of epically stupid and stupidly epic. CaptExpendable : I didn't believe my wife when she said "So I found a music video with submarines fighting an evil wizard... in space." Then we put this on. Thank you Gloryhammer for protecting us from whatever drugs were required to make this. *_I like it!_* Sinyx : New Guardians of the Galaxy with Thor looks great!
I like how they link the spaceship's damage control and firepower to the music. When the music slows or is played by Zargothrax, the Hootsforce submarine takes more damage then when Hootsforce starts singing again the tide of battle turns
Chris writes the music for Gloryhammer but doesn't play live anymore for the band. The guy in this video is someone else. Oh, and did you know Chris started a new band called WIZARDTHRONE? You really should check them out when they're releasing new content. Love the show! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Are you 100% sure that’s not Chris in the video? Cause I saw they have a touring keyboard player, but this isn’t a tour, nor is it live, so I assumed it was Chris.
Aw man, great reaction as always, but I still think you should have started with "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee", because that's where their story begins. :D
There are few bands more goofy than Gloryhammer, and one you need to see is Grail Knights. They have a song featuring JOAKIM BRODEN OF SABATON called Pumping Iron Power. That needs to be your next power metal reaction.
Love the vid. In my personal opinion you need to go back and listen to their first album "Tales from the kingdom of Fife " all around a great album, and gives background to the characters the band portray
Gloryhammer are awesome, totally fun and over the top whilst retaining fantastic musicianship. You should check out their songs :- Masters Of The Galaxy Universe On Fire Gloryhammer There are lots of Scottish references in their tunes due to Chris being from Scotland, you’ll hear mention of Dundee, Fife, Inverness, Glasgow, etc. 😆 Also you need to get onto Orden Ogan, with their epic songs : In The Dawn Of The A.I. Gunman The Things We Believe In. 🤘🏻🙂

Second “rise of the chaos wizards”. That was my first exposure to gloryhammer, and still my favorite. Except for maybe “legend of the astral hammer” from the same album.
The comparison to Drink was a large discussion point when this was released. Not usually a good discussion. I don’t mind it though and it makes me wonder if ultimately the whole Gloryhammer universe is a mad drunk’s dream, which would be fun.
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING, FIGHT FOR THE ANCIENT STORY! Next: "Gloryhammer" the song, from the Album Gloryhammer, by Gloryhammer, where you can learn about his Lightning Powered Goblin Smasher Honestly, all their videos are super fun. You can't go wrong with Gloryhammer. I also highly recommend checking out "Valhalleluja" by Nanowar of Steel now that you're acquainted with Angus McFife. Their song "And then I Noticed She Was a Gargoyle" is also great. If you enjoyed "Drink" from Alestorm, check out "Drunken Dwarves" by Wind Rose. It will also get very stuck in your head, in a good way.
All three of Glorhammer's albums are great. I hope Return to the Kingdom of Fife will be recorded soon. Chris recently started another band which is Wizard themed, Wizardthrone. But they didn't release anything yet. The lineup is: V. Morbistopheles Jones (Æther Realm) - Vocals, bass M. Archistrategos Barber (Gloryhammer) - Guitars M. Xaviculus Bell (Forlorn Citadel) - Guitars C. Hyperiax Bowes (Alestorm, Gloryhammer) - Synthesizers E. Wizardthrone Brown (Nekrogoblikon, Vale Of Pnath) - Drums
That intro sounded exactly, I mean almost identically, like Ancient Forest of Elves by Luca Turilli, the frontman of Rhapsody of Fire. They're an Italian power metal band that basically writes Tolkien novels in album form.
Fun Fact : there are more airplanes in the ocean than submarines in the sky.
Except for Gloryhammer's.

Interestingly enough, their singer is also the singer of Warkings.
we have "Dwarf metal" with Wind Rose they even did a metal cover of the song "diggy diggy hole".
You said the magic word, Warhammer 40k :D There's such thing as Warhammer metal :D I have a few recommendations: Rylanor's Last Stand - Original Song - ft. George Hoctor & Cpl. Corgi
While they are great, I personally still feel Hootsforce is a fantastic entry to Gloryhammer. Hail hoots.
I agree, Patrick. This is by no means a bad song, but Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is epic.
These boys are tons of fun...wonder of they ever done a co gig with Alestorm
We're getting a guitar manufacturing history lesson in the middle of a Gloryhammer reaction, unexpected but informative!
Your face says it all tank they are so fun to listen to lol
Such a good song! Your reaction was wonderful!
the story cliffhanger popup reminded me of another musical storybook "The mechanisms, Old king cole" song 2 of a audio novel.
Cheers!
Ayreon also played that song live, but I like Star One version (2003) far better
Basically anything gloryhammer makes is gold. I suggest universe on fire, hail to crail, magic dragon, and that's just a small sample of the medium faves of mine.
I love Gloryhammer! they are one of my personal favourite bands! :D
Hellyeah dude welcome to the Hootsforce
And sorry for not being active this weekend in the server I had a busy weekend
All good man!
@@TankTheTech thanks bro
I'd not noticed the rif copy! Good spot.
I love Gloryhammer, they are silly and do not take themselves seriously. They are super fun live, start with a cardboard cutout of tom Jones, encourage crowd surfing for questlords of Inverness etc. It's the only place I've seen both someone in a unicorn onesie and full plate in the mosh pit, the full plate person also crowdsurfed!
I'm going to say you need to start at the beginning with Angus Mcfife or Unicorn invasion of Dundee (a song which makes me giggle whenever I hear it!)
Also you can now react to Valhalelula as you know who Angus is!
Also I've heard people describe Gloryhammer as Intergalactic Space Metal.
Great, *great* band! Definitely check out Rise of the Chaos Wizards by them too!
Also, I caught that Beast in Black solo under your intro. Good taste
1:04 lets go! 1:41 ah hold on ... absolutely sing Drink over that 3:25 theyre having fun , so by default we are too 3:43 wasnt wrong , woke up singing it in the morning 6:02 history of guitars / copyright 8:18 wanted keyboard again.... ya know what lets go back , singing over 9:06 Warhammer Metal
will say reading the comments of the original video is one of the best parts for me. some examples
Addy Arts
: 3:14 (or 7:37 for here) CAPTAIN! We're under heavy fire and our systems are failing! What are your orders? K E Y C H A N G E ! ! ! !
Delta GS
:I don't always listen to Gloryhammer but when i do the neighbors do too.
RavensaursRex
: Also known as "What if Warhammer 40k wasn't depressing as balls."
E.H. Bienz: I was just gonna dismissively call this "Alestorm in SPAAAACE" but turns out that's literally what it is.
Michael Campbell
: There's been something about this band which has been bothering me for a long time: How can Zargothrax be manning the band's keyboards when he's their arch-nemesis? Simple! The Zargothrax with the band is actually a pan-dimensional champion of justice who wanders the multiverse destroying evil versions of himself! I mean, it's SO obvious!
*And my personal top 3 in no particular order*
AnonEyeMouse
: The perfect balance of epically stupid and stupidly epic.
CaptExpendable
: I didn't believe my wife when she said "So I found a music video with submarines fighting an evil wizard... in space." Then we put this on. Thank you Gloryhammer for protecting us from whatever drugs were required to make this. *_I like it!_*
Sinyx
: New Guardians of the Galaxy with Thor looks great!
I don't know if you've done any Amon Amarth yet, but 'Raven's Flight' has such a kick ass riff in it I don't think you'll be able to not headbang.
The singer of Gloryhammer also shows up in Valhalleluja by Nanowar of Steel.
One of the reasons I did this video. Now I can do Valhallelujah. 🤘
I like how you had my favorite part of blind and frozen in the background of your intro 😂 do Rotting Christ next!
I like how they link the spaceship's damage control and firepower to the music. When the music slows or is played by Zargothrax, the Hootsforce submarine takes more damage then when Hootsforce starts singing again the tide of battle turns
“Fight for the king, for the hammer and the ring”? Definitely would call this Warhammer Metal
@@TankTheTech Some of the videos for the most recent album didn't have Chris in them because Chris was touring Canada with Alestorm at the time.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Makes total sense. Thanks everyone!
few songs for you: ANCIENT BARDS - Through My Veins, ANKOR - Holy Wolf and more BABYMETAL and Bandmaid!
You should check out their songs :-
Masters Of The Galaxy
Universe On Fire
Gloryhammer
There are lots of Scottish references in their tunes due to Chris being from Scotland, you’ll hear mention of Dundee, Fife, Inverness, Glasgow, etc. 😆
Also you need to get onto Orden Ogan,
with their epic songs :
In The Dawn Of The A.I.
Gunman
The Things We Believe In. 🤘🏻🙂
I would really recommend "Rise of the chaos wizards" or "the unicorn invasion of dundee". Especially the solo in the second one
the singer of this band was a guest in valhallaleluja by nanowar of steel, hoping you can check it out sometime its awesome
One of the reasons I watched this was so I could see him before I did Valhallelujah. 🤘
Love your channel! I came here searching for Nanowar of Steel reactions, and now I'm listening to Gloryhammer, usually not my cup of tea, but so funny :-D
Awesome! Thank you!
Y'know what? Screw it. I've never really subscribed to a channel like this, but I've been watching a lot of these reactions recently, and you seem like an awesome dude, the kind who'd be great to sit down and chat with over a beer or something, have a few laughs with.
Thanks a ton, man! Much appreciated!
*There's a song of Alestorm I came across : "F**#cked** With An Anchor". It's hilarious.*
Dude...LEGEND OF THE ASTRAL HAMMER - it doesn't get more POWER than being powered by lasers entwined in a star.
Second “rise of the chaos wizards”. That was my first exposure to gloryhammer, and still my favorite. Except for maybe “legend of the astral hammer” from the same album.
The comparison to Drink was a large discussion point when this was released. Not usually a good discussion. I don’t mind it though and it makes me wonder if ultimately the whole Gloryhammer universe is a mad drunk’s dream, which would be fun.
chorus is realy catchy and the videoclip is great !
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING, FIGHT FOR THE ANCIENT STORY!
Next: "Gloryhammer" the song, from the Album Gloryhammer, by Gloryhammer, where you can learn about his Lightning Powered Goblin Smasher
Honestly, all their videos are super fun.
The lineup is:
V. Morbistopheles Jones (Æther Realm) - Vocals, bass
M. Archistrategos Barber (Gloryhammer) - Guitars
M. Xaviculus Bell (Forlorn Citadel) - Guitars
C. Hyperiax Bowes (Alestorm, Gloryhammer) - Synthesizers
Ever since hearing Gloryhammer for the first time, ive been making people on job sites laugh when I refer to my Estwing as my Gloryhammer.
