Morten is such a great drummer, I feel like he often gets overlooked in those sorts of conversations, but his parts are always really interesting without being over the top, he is incredibly consistent live, and he seems to be very good at adjusting his style based on the demands of the song
Hans also writes incredible melodies. AND he always outstyles everyone around him. The man's a legend.
Agreed!
When Framus got approached for the new custom guitar for Hans they went: „Hans! Get the Flammenwerfer!“
Met Hans when he joined Feuerschwanz back when Feuerschwanz was a support band for Saltatio Mortis. I think that was around 2008 or something. Absolutely chill guy, phenominal person, but I always thought of him as the old guitar guy, putting down some solid grooves in Feuerschwanz, kind of the bands grandpa, as he was the oldest in the group together with the drummer Lanzeflott. I did not expect him to shred this much :D This is awesome!
Hey, just cought the "gonna get another snus in".
-From Sweden, Land of Snus, with love!
They credit Fabio Trentini as bass player in the video description. Everything you missed in the Bastard description is in this one. 😉
They already have a new video "Legends Never Die" and Mel said in the premiere there will be another video - probably on release day
Damn that sound mix is fucking awesome
For their first original song, I am very pleased with the results. Let’s go
Yeah, this band is about the show stopper. I fear their real separate bands will become side projects though lol
Korbi from Ad Infinitum was playing bass live on the tour with Feuerschwanz
I love her voice! It adds just the right amount of softness to the epic music! Gives me chills everytime I hear it
This was a perfect blend of the flow of Ad Infinitum with the edge of Feuerschwanz. Agree 100% about Hans. His ability to blend technical ability with strong melodic sense is truly superb.
that sounded AWESOME.
this project has been killing it. can't wait for the full album
I first heard Melissa live as the singer of Evenmore, she must have been about 20 years old and even then she had a voice that was difficult to forget.
I've always hoped that she would have a great career and now I look forward to every new song from her because I can't wait to hear how she keeps improving... and actually we are talking about masterpieces in a row.
Great song, album preordered, now I have to wait impatiently for it and for Feuerschwanz new album.
So glad I found this band from your channel. This song is so freaking awesome!
that guitare looks super fire
That sounded fantastic. Strong good feeling about DSMs first original song
Very solid
I've said it before and I'll say it again,Hans is one of if not the best guitar player in metal today.
The chorus of this song live in my brain, its insanity. ❤
I met Melissa at a M&G in Stockholm when she was guest vocalist with Kamelot. She pronounced Ad Infintum the first way you said it....because I asked her. LOL
Great band! Great music! Great vocals!
And she is a downright beautiful and extremely nice woman!
Keep up the good work!
That was amazing. Following this band now.
Absolutely incredible song. I can't wait to hear the full album.
Good song. Harp is a nice touch, but I really like drums on this one. You mentioned Sabaton. Why don't you check "1916" their new release from "Stories from the Western Front" EP. It's really exceptional 🎶🇵🇱
I heard of them first yesterday and I am glad that you're reacting to them!
I like that the sound level of the harp is well mixed with the guitar solo. I've never heard anything like that. Excellent mixing!
Roadie Reactions: 1916 when?
super excited dude
Спасибо, Tank, держи нас в курсе...
This song is amazing that guitar is beautiful
Sounds to me like Blackmore's Night, but with more drum and less glimmer.
Dont know if iam the onlyone but some sounds of the song reminds me a little bit of Beyond the Black. Please correct me if i'm wrong. But this song is great. Nice reaction Tank, thx ^^
Just got my tickets for electric callboy in AZ! Hope to get a chance to meet you!
This band never disappoints for me. The mix like you said @tankthetech was spot on. Hans’ solo was tasteful and brilliant.
Please please add The Warning Live 2022 to your reactions. The tone and mix is epic and the bass will not disappoint you!!!
Going to see The Warning with Plush this summer. Saw them last year with Halestorm and TPR, so I'm beyond psyched.
supergeilerscheizz!!! heavy hot stuff!!! so muss das!!! greetz!!!
Hans is MY favorite guitarist, at least.
Speaking about gear: my first guitar was a used Framus Strat copy in1980 from a dance music guy. The worsest guitar I ever had: the neck had a length shape like a roller coaster, some frets were always falling off, needed some glue, strings were always breaking, vibrato block was a push system with one big spring (opposite to a Strat), never stayed in tune and every single coil was not only humming but also producing a real deafening electric feedback when played louder directly connected to my HiFi system or my Roland Cube 20. The HiFi System I used for the distortion transistor sound until one day I got me an AC 30 and some MIJ copy of a LP Black Beauty which I still own... Until they restarted the Framus company in the 90ties they were on my black list... In 1986 I tried to study in Erlangen where a lot of german traditional guitar an violin builders where nearby same as Framus. A little Iater I owned me some superb Hoyer guitars when they went bankrupt and were selling off. One was an explorer style in total black with golden pickups and mechanics, a never released pre market model. That one I gave to my good old mate Graham when he went back to the UK as a present for his marriage. The other one I owned from a shop in Nürnberg: it was the Flying Arrow and guess what kind of guitar that was 😁. Another good old thing I never sold, its like playing with a ferrari guitar..
Damn this song is good! it feelgood.
I love me some head banging harpist!~
i Miss her Growling🤘
Love Melissa... Hans is the best dressed muso, ever.
Yehes, hans IS my favorite guitarplayer. That ultima nocte solo ❤
Yay, I finally figured out tophat guy's name. Lol
This is like Kamelot with a female singer. But heavier. I dig it. I dig it a lot.
Hey Tank. Awesome vid!
Have a look at Sabaton's new Motörhead cover "1916", but be warned, its an emotional heavy-hitter!
A metal band with a hard as a band member? Yes, please!
Also, I’m curious if symphonic metal vocalists move similarly due their posturing for singing. 🤔
Annisokay-Human!
Jenny of oldstones starts slow but progresses into a banger with harsh vocal breakdown though.
It's a great video to trick people into listening to metal. Once you've seen a windmilling harpist, you're along for the ride.
Did you just........ put in a snus?? You can buy that in America? i know here in Norway people use alot of it but damn what? in US? Have i been living under a rock?
Ohh yeah the music video and song is just banger, and a great reaction too.
Aren't there some layered growls? Or am I mishearing?
I can be wrong, but I thought I heard some harsh vocals in the background (but soft).
I dont know. I dont think it sounds very different from Ad Infinitum. Maybe its just that ive gotten used to Melissas voice in AdI and its very similar here.
It's like Death to Brittany Spears smash thrash !!!!
I like it.
You need to check out Vexed's new single "Anti-Fetish"!!
I am just saying it. The singer is beautiful.
Mark Morton of Lamb of God used to play Framus.
Really nice. How about a reaction to PALEFACE SWISS - THE ORPHAN
Dann those first notes kicked azz
Amaranthe doesn't use Morten to his fullest I feel. And I love Amaranthe.
My favorite part of Tank's reaction was finally learning how to pronounce "Feuerschwanz."
Such a Within Temptation vibe on this, something straight off Unforgiven, especially that Iron-like opening... not that it's a bad thing. As for the moves, can you think of too many symphonic metal videos YOU've seen of late that did not have Melissa in them? And she definitely has a set repertoire, none of that regal standing and walking from the "Symphonic Metal Frontwoman Handbook" )))
Lately? Beyond the Black put a new album out there little before Ad Infinitum put out Chapter III. Delain & Sleeping Romance both did just before that & Within Temptation has been slowly dropping videos for a future album since COVID.
@@MrChristianDT I meant of what Tank's been reacting to, not what's come out in general
@@npinjest7779 Ah. I see.
Interesting music and band; the song definitely carries strong Ad Infinitum vibes. Only thing I'm not jiving with is their name. For some reason I just can't get Pink Floyd out of my head when The Dark Side of the Moon is mentioned. It makes me want to go listen to that record!
Can't get it out of UA-cam's head, either. They keep trying to give me Pink Floyd every time I look them up.
@@MrChristianDT That's annoying, but I suppose there are worse things the algorithm could be feeding you.
Does AD Infinitum have a gripe about this? Why would they be ok with Mellissa being in two bands?
Ad infinitum is her band so its up to her :P
I’m not a guitarist but I have to imagine it’s crazy hard/tiring to play at Hans’ skill level and double up shows for both bands (euro tour).
Hi Twitch :)
hi tank SABATON - 1916 💥
Yeah Tank, I was going to mention this one too. Brand new song released April 14th. It’s a cover of a Motörhead song.
A fun react idea: Sapphire by STESY
Sounds like Night wish ten years ago 😂
How about a band that most certainly has a bassist, as a well as all other bases covered? You know Seven Spires, Tank, it's time to show such a creative treasure to your audience. They're worth a basic ass reaction at least.
Don't know if you're more familiar with the older stuff like Cabaret of Dreams ua-cam.com/video/qshRajbTjek/v-deo.html or the newer like Gods of Debauchery ua-cam.com/video/_O7LUgm9JKw/v-deo.html Come on, it will make both the female fronted metal and the power metal and the black metal crowds happy! 🤘🤘
P.s. More guitar nerding! That was too little.
Hi tank!! react to 1916 from Sabaton!! P-L-E-A-S-E!!!! its so fuc*ing epic!!!
X
Fun fact, Melissa is married to the drummer :P
Ehre geht raus an brotherbroseph1805 für seinen Tier 1 sub! Leeet's goo!
EDIT: This sounds so incredibly dull and empty, like German Schlager. Good musicians, but completely soulless music :x Listened to "Bastard von Asgard" after this and it was sooo much better and more alive...Cool reaction, but another dead inside allstar band >.>
How in the world can this guy not afford his own private gym? Like wtf is he doing in a public gym even if he WASNT under constant threat of bodily harm
Melissa is engaged??? My heart just broke... :(
It does sound she is doing harsh vocals under her cleans.
Tank, I’m super surprised that you’ve not yet reacted to the new Sabaton video for 1916, I thought you’d be right there for it’s premiere. Anyway, get onto it mate. 🤘🏻🙂
Why all sub metals moved same way? I think it’s because it’s more of soulful soft metal. If she Head banging and sing like she was doing would probably feel off since banging hard express rage while goddess expresses emotion
Another band w/o bass player. But the harp makes up for it
I love her voice but I think those drums and guitar deserve a little more agressive voice.
Think i heard some harsh vocals in the background.
This is probably just because I'm that much of a geek, but where ever that's filmed looks like it's straight out of a LoZ game, the chorus isn't helping either 😅
I love the band an especially Melissa, but their hooks are weak AF! It's a great song, don't get me wrong, very well produced, technical, very very high quality... but be honest with me. Will you ever humm this when idle? Hell, will you even remember this song in two years' time? And this goes for Ad Infinitum as well! Other than "Marching on Versailles" there is no song I could name from them! Even though I love the band and their unique sound, they have NO hooks to speak of.
The female vocalist ruins it for me.
Drumming is amazing.
There is nothing interesting or original about this it was done years ago with bands like Nemesea.
I can't do this. There's 5,000 other power metal bands where super attractive women standing around in a forest. For me, this type of music is like.. equivalent to K-pop. It's ultra popular overseas and I hate generic music. It's all the same. Indistinguishable with all of the other female lead power metal bands. Just call them Unleash The Archers 1,2,3,4,5,5000.
Sounds like German Schlager. Horrible cheesy music.
This is the furthest thing from sand German Schlager I have ever heard. 😂
@@TankTheTech It's actually VERY similar. Listen to the melody and the structure, it's Schlager with distorted guitars. Like I said, cheesy.
@@ratatatuff If this is Schlager, 99% of all Metal Songs are Schlager.
@@roadcore884 Not really. But a lot of those "symphonic" metal bands actually are Schlager. Simple catchy melodies, predictable and inoffensive. That's the definition of Schlager.
@@ratatatuff Unless you look at prog, simple melodies and harmonies also qualify for most other metal genres like death, power metal etc or older bands like Iron Maiden. Shouting or screaming a melody doesn't make it more complex. Metal fans usually over estimate the complexity of their music (harmony wise). So I still stand with 99% :-)
