Thanks for the interview! Remarkable job as always. I was able to catch up Angus McSix at Wacken 23, and it was easily one of the best show of the festival, that makes me super happy for Thomas after all the glory hammer situation. Thanks again Jasper.
Thank you for the interview :) So far I've never really gotten my ears on Gloryhammer, Rhapsody of Fire or Frozen Crown but youtube has been recommending Angus to me for a while and it eventually led up to me listening to the whole debut album and really liking it. Glad to learn what happens beyond the music itself, and I guess it's time to check out the members' former/main bands 😏
I'm sure bowes and the rest of the band minus Winkler being caught being horrible racists calling people N bombs and having a "list of races they cross off a list whenever they f*ck a fan made his departure much easier
I think it boiled down to the quality of live performances Vs studio and something about copyright 🤷🏻♂️ but hey I’m just glad he’s making music still.
The ridiculousness and sound combined of bands like Angus Mcsix bring a similar feeling that attracts me for similar reasons I really enjoy Super Eurobeat. It's just over the top fun, and you kinda, just, feel it. It almost forces me into a good mood, even when I'm really anxious or depressed. This kinda music means a lot to me, haha.
There are actually a couple of metal guys that produce Eurobeat on the side so it's no coincidence. Fabio Lione of Rhapsody is one. One of the guys from Angra too iirc.
I know this is all old news but I just discovered them like. A week ago and have listened to Winkler everything since. Brought me out of a low point. Metal bein more fun less serious sad pain shit is amazing. (I mean I still love bands like Disturbed. But this gives me life).
Honestly, if you want more high energy peppy bands I'd recommend checking out Freedom Call and Twilight Force. Freedom Call's schtick is being the happiest metal band on earth and Twilight Force goes all in on the Power Metal cheese with all the fantasy lyrics. They're both great and amazing mood lifters.
This man is a purveyor of cheese like none other and I'm here for all of it. The album is an absolute banger and I honestly hope it will inspire more to embrace the cheese. I'm a massive fan of the progressive kind of power metal, it's likely the best form of heavy metal music in the world but I do have a real softspot for the cheesy stuff and Angus is a real master. Before I heard he left Gloryhammer I had ideas of doing the Hootforce as a Kill Team in Warhammer 40k.

I really love the new music and I think he really is needed on the scene... Though, looking at the fan published live videos, it's painfully obvious they are playback... To me, that's bad. Really bad... The meter of band, to me, is the ability to throw a live gig. If that doesn't work, don't do "live". It would be better just to do records, that I can take and like. Fake lives, they're poison....
They play live, as many people who were there confirmed. because of technical problems he dropped the mic and there was no sound coming through for a short moment.
Me: Naming the new Band Angus McSIX is a genius move!
Thomas: Ah, it was just like, whatever, I did not like it at first.
Me: Oh... okay...

He seems so cool, I love that the green armor was inspired by Link.
