Man some people don’t have the “ UA-cam “ thing down. But you sir need to keep making videos. Excellent content! I am new to the industry so this is all gold for me. Your videos are great. You present yourself like a UA-cam pro and deliver the information in a way that us new guys can understand. Keep up the great work!
It will blink cool on if you lower to soon after it shuts off on its own. Usually around 5 minutes. You can turn off the cool switch off and on if you don't want to wait. But the delay has a purpose. Maybe pressure is to high in the compresure
Hey dude!...Thanks for this information!...I'm not an HVAC Tech. I am just renting a home that has this exact issue!...I have called for the service technician and i'll show them this video when they arrive!...Thanks Again!
I've seen the T6's do that a lot when the drain line is clogged and the float switch is killing the power and then it will send the thermostat into a 5-minute delay. Some of the water manages to trickle out but when the unit comes back on and fills the trap and trips the switch again the thermostat goes into another 5 minute delay.
Thank you!! You just saved me a call back @ the problem was out side low voltage wire grounded causing t stat to go delay..you helped me to solve the issue
I have amazon thermostat which is based on Honeywell thermostat that act like you mentioned, So, I checked out side unit. I found the problem. Thank you.
Can you show a video of how to test and fix it? Steps with the tools, meter, etc... HVAC guy came out for tuneup, changed capacitor, and now I'm getting that flashing cool on.
If it's not blowing the Fues then I would think it's a voltage problem that's causing the thermostat to reset. The Fues is in the hot side of the transformer as you know so with out blowing the Fues I would check the voltage. Good video
Had that happen on another Honeywell tstat . After replacing fried transformer, , got a call for cool and voltage dropped to 13v . Removed call and had 24v. Sure enough contactor was shorting out . I’ve replaced some shorted contactors blowing out fuses .weird sometimes . But been changing a lot lately. Homer brand
For those watching this take note that a lot of smart thermostats, especially Nests, will do this without a blown fuse and might even report, "there's a problem with the Y wire" or something like that. enjoy your videos man, hope you are well
My heat wont work. My thermostat is scrolling the set temp. The set temp numbers are going a million miles an hour. It only can be fixed if I set it to cool then back to heat. Then the heat comes back on ..itll do it every few days
I have a situation where I have 3 zones/thermostats. Only when the bedroom thermostat is set to cool rabdomnly it calls for AC but the fan doesn’t come on and unless I catch it eventually will frost the unit. If I do not use the bedroom or if I turn it on only when I can confirm the fan comes on it works 100%. Any ideas?
Could really use some help. Have this Honeywell thermostat and I did have a broken wire out at the outdoor unit. Replaced signal wire the the contactor replaced contactor. Now it only will run the outdoor unit if the thermostat is bypassed. With the thermostat it only runs the fan. No blown fuses
i have a outside unit with air handler in attic works fine but every now and then the thermostat calls for a/c compressor comes on but FAN fails to come on causing low side line to freeze up then i have to reset unit had a few codes Y1 relay , blower communication err and ID MTR err. i feel some how the fan is loosing its signal to come on just dont know where it should be getting it from pcm or thermostat. s
I tried that didn't work because the temperature reading it's stuck on 74 only in the daytime I put it on 72° only in the night time it does work read the some temperature in the night time only on another thing is doing you feel like it's very cold and it feel like water tripping it feel like it with the the air feel like ok we put it on 72° debating you go to 75 sit point it doesn't work it doesn't go down the same temperature at all I think the something in the unit in calibrate the same level hot and cold temperature level is not right
This is such good info. Keep up the great content. You are helping us homeowners figure out the issues that some techs can't even find!
Hours of youtube failed me until i saw this video. Thank you.

Thank you for explaining this in plain English. Legit the only helpful video on these thermostats on UA-cam. Thanks brother
Got my sons system working coil was bad on out side unit. Thank you for the info it saved us!

What did your problem end up being?
Yea I would like to know too. 😊
Just ran into this problem today, i appreciate it.

Nice video.
Great knowledge and explanation. Thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you soooo very much brother, not all heroes wear capes

What was your issue? I’m trying to figure out mine but the contractor’s are good, but it still isn’t starting.
You're the man, thanks buddy
What if you’re getting a very long, near hour, delay on both cool and heat?
Can you show a video of how to test and fix it? Steps with the tools, meter, etc... HVAC guy came out for tuneup, changed capacitor, and now I'm getting that flashing cool on.

Yes man looking forward for videos with tips to find shorts!! 👍👍👍
I would love to see videos on multiple shorts!
Thank you Spike from the Mario Bros movie! (the resemblance is uncanny for reals). But for real, appreciate you.

Great point! Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoy the content.

This saved me a tone of heartbreak! Exactly what he said it’s a Honeywell and everything!
Great tip man thank you!
Thanks! 👍👍. Are you seeing this on any particular outdoor unit more than others?
No

so i got a question .... contactor chattering ohm it reading 15 ... checked low voltage 26 ... idk what's next ecobee thermostat
Would love to see a extended short video
the wires have to in the backing plate just right..and no corrosion on them
you sir are the fawking Mannnnnn!
thank you very much
