Why relocate when you can ‘employ’. He did say it would be a mining town. That implies workers, and wouldn’t you know he has a lovely group of natives who know the area, and just need to be taught how to work the machines.
Fun fact: Most of what you'll be building are viaducts, not bridges. The main difference between the two is that bridges are built over things (eg; rivers & sea arms), while viaducts are built to maintain height in valleys and low laying areas.

Use a Contraption controller! You can use it on a contraption to prevent certain parts from being used, for example your drills. The best part about the controller is that you can use it while moving as well. The Ponder function explains this very well :) Great video as always!
OMG! My drill train was parked at the end of the line for a while now since it would demolish my stations on it's way to depo. Ponder on contraption controls is quite good, but that should also be expained on actor blocks ponder screens. Thank you for the info, mate!
You should turn each village and the pillager outpost into stations for different trades and your pillager farm. Build a public house at one station called the BlowHole
I've been watching this series with my kids because I love trains and I wanted to share it with them. They love your trains and were tickled pink when the animal drivers got their little conductors hats. You should absolutely make some kind of small amusement park and fill it with animals riding the rides. I think it would be lovely. Thank you for putting a smile on my children's faces! ❤❤❤
hey beard mate, here's an idea for ya. you ever seen those old fashioned mining yards? the ones with the large industrial towers, piping, conveyors and large structures on stilts with a huge hopper under them (of which drop gravel into carriages, trucks and such. you might see where I am going with this already)? well, something like that might help with your new station. Where a train goes under the structures with stilts, aligns with the hopper/s and gets filled with goods! it also might help you come up with new carriage designs for the cargo, irl such carriages are quite boxy like the one fixed onto the "Tunnel Train" and filled with gravel, coal and other goods. so you could draw inspiration from them.

for the paving/path maker tunnel train, you could use rollers to pave the path under the train and or have a separate carriage behind set to sloped fill to make a natural ish looking base for the paved tracks from the main carriage serrate carriages on trains (groups of 2 bogeys) have independent inventories and contraption actors from the perspective of the controller things ( same ones as from the lift/elevator)

IRL a lot of cargo trains are ironically named for there speed like “bullet or thunderbolt”. You should do something like that. Like call the cargo train “the rolling boulder” or you could name it after an animal like some other trains. “The stone elephant” or something. Keep up the great content and work
I think it would be really cool if you rebuilt the village so that the villagers could still live there. So basically build Villager Death Proof. I imagine it would be really cool when you get there and the city is full of life and doesn't just consist of a few dull machines.
You could integrate the storage/loading warehouse into the mountain. I think that would look awesome, that building could then help bridge that area to possible expand the village area... Just a thought
You snagged my attention when you mentioned getting flywheels spinning on trains, there is a mod that can do that for you! It's called Extended Flywheels. It adds a whole bunch of flywheel variants, and it makes flywheels on the sides of trains spin as if they were the train's own wheels. It's purely aesthetic, but I think you might like it!
If you’re using create steam and rails, you can use a conductors whistle to summon a train to your location (if the train uses a conductor as the driver, and there is a way to the location. Then, you can use a personal schedule to send the train to a given location, effectively a semi-automatic train.
Considering your track laying skills, I think you either need to install quite a few bypasses allowing for trains to go back and forth between both tracks as needed, or you may need to put in a few "roundabouts" areas of track where there is a large circle that can act as hubs should you need to break off from the main line and head in various directions
i think for the mining town, maybe having a tunnel into an underground vault area for storage of the factories etc that comes out near the station would look cool
You can use the extended flywheels mod to make the flywheels rotate but im not sure if the front one will spin or not. I guess you can experiment It also has a lot of cool looking flywheels
I hope the villagers all get jobs in the new mining district. Maybe as train drivers or just as lads to occupy some ascetic dwellings. Or even have one get a job at that flora store thing. In other news, I'm sure Flying Beardman and Logomotive are excited about the extension to the railway even if they don’t end up traveling the new rails often. Still, glad to see the trains have access to even more rail.

I agree with all of the comments saying to integrate the village into your mining town, but I also think that you could build your freight line to the other side of the village, so that there's a place for people and a place for items to get on trains. You could just branch it off of the track going to your base and then have it go around and reconnect. Just an idea. Love the vids!
i'd say instead of completely leveling the village maybe you should adapt it, build around it and then make it mesh with the mining facility; say make the villagers into workers or something

Hey, I don't know if you will ever read this, but if you want to focus on a villager breeder, you could have 2 trains that are dedicated to carry villagers from the breeders that can circle around all locations and bring the villagers in. The trains can be based on the Hogwarts Express and in the Chronicles of Narnia series ('GWR 7800 Class 7802 Bradley Manor' and the 'GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall' - if you want the models) and have these be driven by passive pillagers. Pillagers will look quite the train driver/pilot or whatever they are called across different countries.
How many hours of gameplay do you do in each recording? reaching 1000 days in this short amount of time is crazy but then again your builds are so decorated and well done
I love your station design, but, I think that a big industrial city needs a big industrial central station. Perhaps you should add some canopies and a bigger building with a waiting area? Also I suggest that you add that third bypass rail because the station will create a bottleneck and will reduce your T H R O U G H P U T
Grew up in coal and steel country in eastern USA. With loading stone, coal, or even grains it was done from the top and unloaded from the bottom or tipped dumped. Also the area in your main base turnaround would be a good place for a water tower to refill the train.

Maybe have a branch line after the station that would go to a storage yard you put else where near the town, and just have switches to move to the brabch line towards this storage yard. Also when you planning to put in a round house?

I'd also recommend semaphores from the Create: Steam and Rails mod; I use those combined with nixie tubes, and it's so much easier to see what the signal says! I believe there is a mod that makes flywheels on trains spin, but it uses its own flywheels so the standard ones aren't affected. I *think* it's called something like Extended Flywheels. (Disclaimer: I haven't tried this one yet, so this is just going from my recollection of the mod description.) EDIT: Since posting this I've looked into Extended Flywheels a little more, and apparently it's only supported through Create 0.5.0 and Minecraft 1.19.2. So, probably not an option.
An idea: why not make a circle around the small central mound, it give's you more option for different path and at the connections you could make a different track for a mining train. Would it be possible to make an underground station for it? The idea is for you will probably transport most if not all mining resource underground anyway, why not having a main conveyor connected to all factory's storage to a underground station?

But I can also understand the vindictive urge to demolish the annoying parkour building that had a crappy reward.

Might want to consider adding the Hole Filler Mod when landscaping on a mass scale. Would be a good way to use your accumulated resources. Also, the Trowel Mod would be useful for texturing your builds by randomly selecting blocks in your hotbar. I’d normally recommend Effortless Building, but it isn’t available for 1.20.x yet.
For the Florist Shop, Maybe name it Boris The Florist Choo Choo Flowers Flowers 'n Go Poppy's Drop Shop Also if youre gona have alot of coal trains, maybe add some water towers along the railway, this can add some cool decoration, and maybe you can even use them as small waiting station's or as Coal Refilling spots, Maybe try if you can use Kelp blocks instead of coal, so that you can make the water towers also a dried kelp farm, could be cool Love the series keep going on
It might be that since the vault kept clipping behind the main "engine" it did not count for storage. One idea would be to have extra barrels near where you head is, the connect them with hoppers that feed *into* the vault?
I really think you should move where the farmhouse is right now and move it to its own farming village. Maybe put a clocktower where the farmhouse was? This world is really missing a clocktower. Also this might be a little early but i feel the station/mining town should be named Honeydew Hills or something similiar after the legendary dwarf.

Might want to consider adding the Hole Filler Mod when landscaping on a mass scale. Would be a good way to use your accumulated resources. Also, the Trowel Mod would be useful for texturing your builds by randomly selecting blocks in your hotbar. I’d normally recommend Effortless Building, but it isn’t available for 1.20.x yet.

Also if youre gona have alot of coal trains, maybe add some water towers along the railway, this can add some cool decoration, and maybe you can even use them as small waiting station's or as Coal Refilling spots, Maybe try if you can use Kelp blocks instead of coal, so that you can make the water towers also a dried kelp farm, could be cool

It might be that since the vault kept clipping behind the main "engine" it did not count for storage. One idea would be to have extra barrels near where you head is, the connect them with hoppers that feed *into* the vault?
I really think you should move where the farmhouse is right now and move it to its own farming village. Maybe put a clocktower where the farmhouse was? This world is really missing a clocktower.
Also this might be a little early but i feel the station/mining town should be named Honeydew Hills or something similiar after the legendary dwarf.
You should name the mining train "The Borealis"
