I am just starting to play with the tools and options my Chromebook provides. I am not using the shutdown as the reason, but the fact that I am not a spring chicken and therefore want to try to keep the wheels lubricated in my aging brain! I plan to go back and revisit some of your videos and follow along with you, just to see how far I can advance. I usually watch the majority of your videos, though they are aimed at professionals and content creators instead of a retired, elderly UA-cam junkie! Thank you for your time and clarity. I really appreciate websites like yours.

Thanks, Scott, for another helpful video. I like your suggestion for renaming a file. I took your previous advice to color code folders. The tip to save to Google Drive is another good one. I underuse that app. I frequently used save to Google Keep.

Shift+Z allows you to add the selected file to multiple locations, so it will be present in both folders while being the same exact file, not a copy

That was a great tip. I have a question though. Do you know how to dissociate it from multiple folders. I put a file in 3 different locations, but now I want to keep it in only one. There doesn't seem to be a working way. I tried removing it from other folders, but when I do that, it actually removes the file altogether. And when I restore it, it goes to all the 3 folders again.

Omg, that was SO helpful. I’ve been wanting an easy way to add colours to Windows folders and this is a game changer. We all work in browsers most of the time anyway, so it’s better to focus on optimising your work life there instead of windows explorer. I also never knew about the Explore button or the search within folder function either. This video is worth it’s weight gold!

What I would like to know is is how to completely synch the files. It seems like not all the files I saved from my chrome book to Drive are available when I access drive from elsewhere like my phone or other computers.
Is there any way to force a a complete re-synch of the drive contents with my chrome book? How can I confirm that all the files have been transferred to Drive?

Thanks so much. I learn a lot from your videos. Google Drive drives me crazy because I think I have trashed something but then when I search, it comes up. What happens when I put a document in the trash in Google drive?
Items will stay in the Trash for 30 days until they are automatically deleted.
Hi thank you for all these useful tips! One question when I share my documents with my client, she always needs an autorization from my side. Is there any way to jump this step?
Great stuff. I'm looking for a way to watch a folder and (if) someone, in our organization) uploads a file there in that folder then I get a flagged cell in Spreadsheets or a message/email/hangout anything. We have thousands of NULL folders and it's time consuming to constantly chase people or manually go through the folders to see if team members have sent in requested files. P.S. most of these people work in construction so aren't going to have time to link drive files and send emails.
If anyone does use an image through save to drive, YOU MUST GET THE ATTRIBUTION INFORMATION. Failure to attribute an image, even if you change it, violates copyright laws.
My favorite trick is as others have said, color coding the folders. I do this in Windows, having them in the same color scheme is a game changer.

I am not seeing the option to add images to Drive when I right click images in Chrome. Did you do something to enable that? Perhaps Drive needs to be installed on your PC?

I really like the ability to save an image to Google Drive. However, is there any way to specify which folder it will go into? Can we set a default images folder? It would be awkward to save a ton of images to the root folder. Thanks!

Yes its possible. You just need to create a new folder in your google drive and specify it while using google drive chrome extension when it asks for destination folder.

Save browser image to Google Drive not available. In the right click menu, Save to Google Drive is not available.
