Love the tips! I don’t know about anyone else but the side bar on the right side of drive has been a game changer for me! I’ve been working on something and needed to multitask at the same time. Click on the side bar with tasks and boom! Definitely sharing with my teacher friends right now!

I love these tips. I provide reading professional development for my county and I am soooo going to share this video as a requirement before they start the PD. I give them lots of files that they need to download, so your video will help with organization!!
The side panel is a great feature I’ve used since available. I now use it with the students to access their Calendar. I work with small groups so the calendar is shared with them and they know when to come to my room. And we use Google Keep as a digital planner with students instead of a paper one. I use it for lesson planning.

Thanks for a comprehensive video to make life easier. Are there any work around for converting PowerPoint files that include sound files into slides? When I convert my files it always says “some features” won’t work. I teach music so many of my powerpoints have sounds

I do have a question though…. I’m all in for turning my presentations over to googles slides also (I love google slides and your tutorials got me started)….except one thing that is holding me back is that I can’t write on them!! 🥺
I use inspiration which allows me to write/highlight on the slide, but I hate that I have to make my presentation on one computer and use a flash drive to transfer it to my other computer and if I need to change something I then have to change it on multiple computers!! Drives me bonkers.
What do you do with that time where you stop and talk about a skill and write on a slide to express a point, an idea, or show an example???

Great question Ann! If you have the Slides tab open and make changes while offline, it will update once your internet is restored (as long as you leave the tab open)! Hopefully this helps! Thank you for your kind words and support!

Michelle, thank you for the video. I have a few questions about sharing files/folders. Prior to the question, know that I have watched the video you shared where you gave step by step directions explaining how you shared your files anticipating your move out of your district. I am extremely organized with my Google Drive and have folders within folders within folders and that is proving tricky, not to mention time consuming, to recreate sharing and copying to my personal Drive. I am also anticipating moving out of my current district and don't want to lose access to my files. My district settings will only allow my personal Drive to be an Editor when I share my district files. Here are my questions: when I share a Google Drive folder from my distrct account (that's filled with a plethora of folders/files) with my personal account (which becomes an Editor), and then my Distrct account is wiped clean, do the shared folders/files stay on my personal account cloud space? Am I still able to access them at the Editor level? Does my access level on my personal account change? Thank you for any added information.
Michelle would probably know better than I do, but my experience would tell me that you might have trouble accessing the files. One of our admin team members recently left, and I took over some of her responsibilities. She shared her files with me (as an Editor) before departing, but during the next school year, they were gone. I think this was due to the school shutting down her account, but it could also be that she deleted the files. I have read that making a copy of the file makes you the owner, but maybe this shared drive idea would be easier.
@@amietedeschi3203 I was instructed by my District tech guru to save all my folders/files to a flash drive and then load them to my personal Google Drive since I was not able to make my personal account a new owner.
Can I make a google slide presentation permanently a forced copy for everyone but me? Or do I have to change the url everytime I send it to students?

Nice video showing what’s available. I use most of those features but I haven’t used the power list but I can see now how it may be helpful while on the fly. What were all the things in your google keep? Maybe a video about that would be helpful. They look like sticky notes. I have digital stickers that I used last year as full remote teacher. I would like other ideas for using google keep.
I love using google drive myself but we are not a google classroom and I'm not sure how to get my second graders to use the features of google classroom since they don't access emails. With fourth graders I shared files with them that they opened in their emails. Any ideas how to utilize this in younger grades?

How do you access the “offline” versions when there’s no internet?
That’s what ‘offline’ means - you can access the files even when you don’t have internet access - they are saved to your device. 👍🏾
You would go to the drive as if you did have internet and those files or folders will be in color if they have been toggled to offline.
A little off subject...HOW CAN I CHANGE THE THEME COLOR TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM WHEN I ADD MY OWN BANNER?
