The sad old man being the strongest wizard makes a lot of sense in adventure time lore since learning magic is all about learning how life is a dream and how to manipulate that dream to your desires hence why a lot of wizard are so messed up mentally in adventure time
Agreed
Also makes sense due to that whole “magic madness and sadness” thing
if i remember correctly all wizards must have at least some level of madness and sadness
It's basically Chim from The Elder Scrolls.
Sounds like a messed up religion
He may not have realized it, but the Ice king personally related to Guisseppe's poem from his time with Marceline. It gives his tears another layer of tragedy.
Even I never realized that before, but you're right
@@paxw37wow even you
@@dayalasingh5853he made a video analyzing it, so the fact that it didn’t cross his mind makes sense why he would say that.
I don’t think so we have seen that when Simon wears the crown he goes insane he can’t remember his past experiences of being a scientist and living with Marceline I think you’re thinking too far.
@@ripLbozoI think the magic of Giuseppe is stronger than the power of the crown. Adventure time has proven that the strongest form of magic is love.
The two most powerful mental states of Magic are Madness and Sadness, Guiseppe exhibits such extreme sadness, which explains how he's so powerful despite not being completely insane. He's also incredibly humble about it, not showing his immense sadness.
He's just a dude tryna do his best for the sake of his family. A good guy overall
i wonder who a good example of extream madness
@@arandomthingintheabyss2062ice king or betty
@@Agerfeldt0 ice king technically doesn't know magic they get it from the crown instead of normally being insane meanwhile Betty got madness put into her
@@arandomthingintheabyss2062 magic man of course
He did what all other wizards failed at he saw the reality of the world and didn't go crazy, a true Chad indeed
W
Its because he was incredibly sad and depressed, another source of powerful magic
He didn't forget his floaties
666 👍
Now it makes sense why my friend's grandpa left behind a load of walking-sticks for him... they weren't walking sticks at all, they were magical staffs!
Giuseppe is just an average old Italian man. They're all wizards.
Ya got that right
At middle age, just when they start balding, is when their magic comes in. That's why Peppino from Pizza Tower is one of the most powerful characters in his own game's lore, he is at the perfect balance of magical potency and physical fitness
Ezio auditore was such a great assassin for this very reason
Especially in making people disappearing
Just doin what he can
Well Ice King also knows how it feels to lose a daughter
WELL DAMN
Crying, screaming, shitting, throwing up, no pleasure here. Jus pain🥲
"You don't remember anything, do you...........SIMON?!"
Still one of the most shocking thing Marceline said in the show.
ACKCK MARCELINE T^T
That's actually Simon petrikorv you are talking about
I remember watching it and not realizing he died
I think thats part of the message. When we were kids, we only saw the beautiful and fun part of this story. Now that we are older and we understand how death works and how many people live their life... We can see that Giuseppe... was a great man, greater than most
Most of us were too young to understand back then.
He did?
He didn't die. He lives in our hearts...
Sameee
I still believe that the line about "where other fathers lie" refers to a graveyard
Also OFC a poem about feeling like a failure of a father would hit IK hard
This was my fav episode. I had a tree near my house that looks exactly like the apple tree in the episode. So me and my sister named it Giuseppe when we were small and until now, we still say "hello Giuseppe" to the tree
That's amazing!!!
A RING, A THUMBS UP AND A WINK. FUCK how did i not put that together? They're honoring him. Thank you for the Crabapples, Giuseppe.
Thank you for the Crabapples, Giuseppe.
Thank you for the crabapples, Giuseppe
Thanks, Giuseppe.
Thanks, Giuseppe.
Thanks, Giuseppe.
Thanks, Giuseppe
Thanks, Giuseppe.
Thanks, Giuseppe
Maybe the power in Giuseppe's magic comes from not only the understanding of the universe, the realization of existance being just a dream. Maybe its because in this reality or any other, love, emotion, expression, is what gives us sense, what makes us whole. What does it matter if the universe its real or not.
This feeling is real. The love for the people u care about is real. Something i think is... Way more infinite and precious thing than the understanding of the universe. Everything we need, its in the people we love. And Giuseppe understood that. Live to love
Yep. That's a true.
I've always loved this episode and his poem.
*"These are not my teardrop daughter dear but the sheen of dew that lingers here"*
He is crying but doesn't want his daughter in Heaven to worry
*"Past other fields, where other fathers lie"*
The soldiers who died in the war. Guiseppe was a rich man who probably used connections to get out of fighting and found shelter based off that photo.
*"who kept their daughters, far better than I"*
Because of his selfish and cowardly actions, his daughter died while he survived and this loss made him realize what was truly important.
The pain and regret he's held for so long why he's a strong but sane wizard. *Sadness* and madness..
Agree with the soldier and graveyard point (different graveyards for soldiers and civilians). But the daughter point might be not relevant, because a soldier protecting the country but not the one he loves is a common tragedy, the father's fault is not required. I'm not saying it's exclusive, it's just more assumptions than required.
A good death is earned with a satisfied life.
For such a weird show, it had a ton of heart.
The weirdness came directly *from* the heart.
I guess you could say it had magic, madness, and sadness.
Truly an incredible episode displaying the emotional depth that’s possible in a pg cartoon.
Agreed
Puhoy made me cry. We see Finn get severed from his world. He grows up spending decades in the Pillow realm. Had a wife and kids and we see Finn die as an old man. He is then returned to his original world with no memories of the life he had in the Pillow realm. All those loving memories of him and his wife Roseline and his kids were completely gone.
this was always my favorite and to this day I still go back and watch it
Such a great episode
When I first heard this poem. The way I understood it was the father's sacrifice themselves for the daughters. But he chose himself and regretted the choice since then. And just a little bit when he mentioned about the tears and dew. it's just to do I don't know, it's just feel he is not sad but know he should be but isn't.
My favorite part is that from this point forward Life Giving Magi and Ice King are best buds
I always say that this is the best episode and Giuseppe is one of my favorites
I remember this when i was a kid and it made me emotional
This has always been my favorite episode since the first time I watched it and I am so happy to see someone finally acknowledge how beautiful this episode is…
This is why the og adventure time was the best… it usually had secret messages that were deep like jake being peer pressured into stretching through the maze
Remember in adventure time. The stronger the magic they possess is proportion to their loneliness or sadness. That's why most wizards are crazy just to escape them.
Nice that somebody else is actually acknowledging this absolute gem of an episode
My dad watched this with me when I was younger. Didn’t understand the poem at the time. But it sure brought him to tears.
Pretty good episode, but my favorite still goes to little brother for being the most perfect example of the hero's journey in just 11 minutes.
That's fair. Such an amazing episode
Just realised that even at his insanic state ice king/Simon still have a heart. I mean he cried also after reading that lovely poem
Edit: mama you're son is getting viral
I mean like, we even had an episode where we saw his heart, his name was Ricardo.
He has a robotic heart now tho 😂
Yeah he had a heart, it's literally a character named ricardio
It's like Simon is looking through the Ice King's eyes but is trapped
@@BeautifulPsycho124 yo that's a good one
one of my top 5 favorite ep of adventure time
edit: its been a while cool i am popular a bit
Same
i think it could also be because iceking had a similar past, with simon being there for marceline until he had to leave her behind before he could hurt her
"Immortalized as a ring worm" is what i heard tbh
That poem is heartbreaking
R.i.p you will be missed, fly high 🕊🕊🕊
Magic isn't bound by experience... it is the idea to make people around you happy. A magician isn't a magician because he wants to be an expert. He wants to spread love
After watching Fionna and Cake, I think the big forest that Finn took Simon to is this exact forest. The lights on the trees are the same, and the white tree with fruit in Fionna and Cake bears resemblance to the crab apple tree
This episode was always one of my favorites growing up, it was beautiful
this whole cartoon is under estimated. truly a epic master piece. 🙌
This has been my favorite episode for a long time
Adventure Time will always be in my Top 10 Cartoons. I don't know exactly where I would place it but it's there
I remember once, when I was a child, waking up suddenly in the night (perhaps from a dream), then remembering this episode, and then starting to cry until I fell asleep again. I didn't even understand.
Giuseppe will be remembered.
As a daddy’s girl type of person I cried at Giuseppe’s message because I loved my dad growing up and shared a bond with him
Giuseppe became my favorite character after that episode
The one with Marceline and Simon where he puts on the crown to save Marcy's life still kills me.
He must be immortalized as the Chad he is
As someone who has watched the whole series but the HBO special, this made me realize that I have forgotten some episodes but faintly remember them meaning I have the opportunity to rewatch the series again 😆.
✨Giuseppe✨
I love Giuseppe. His poem reached out to my heart in the spot in the part no other emotions could touch. The words of the poem had so much meaning showing his love to his daughter who he wanted to love as much as other fathers could, but he was unable to. Not only did he save them showing true friendship, but he was the best out of them all. Whilst being a wizard like the others, he wasnt evil. Probably just a misunderstood person.
Giuseppe. We will miss you. ❤
I never realize how screw up youtube is with the comments. It said you had only three comments. Liars.
Lowkey I also didn't realize how many episodes of Adventure Time I missed. I rember seeing Finns dad and the lich and then marcelines past with vampires then hump to the last episode and that was it.
BRO you're missing like, ALL of Finn's backstory
One of my favourite episodes of every show ever
This paired with the Tyler the creator in the background works wonders on my tear ducts
putting are we still friends in the background made me cry
Guisseppe was amazing. My favorite character that was only shown once.
Yes!!! This episode is so underrated and I think this is the first time I've seen anyone talk about it
This episode has been stuck in my mind since I was a kid. I just suddenly thought of the word Giuseppe and this was the first thing that came to mind. This is why I love adventure time
THIS LOOP WAS BEYOND PERFECT
I remember seeing this as a kid, truly an amazing episode. It takes time for us to really see the impact these episodes brought to us💪🏿❤️
This episode was a true masterpiece....🔥
THIS IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE EPISODES:(
Every episode I dare say is underrated masterpiece 😢. Good fucking job!
Great episode
Agreed
I swear so many filler episodes in AT are absolute bangers and this one is no exception
I remember this Episode, and I'll cherish that someone Finally takes a look at it
i think about this episode every other week
Low-key one of my favorite episodes
Adventure time can’t always be making us cry like this 😭
Fr 😭
I remember watching this episode. Alone at home, eating instant noodles on a very cold night. It was relaxing and emotional at the same time💙
Could you do a video essay on the whole episode. I feel like it has really interesting imagery
I laugh when people say Rick and Morty can only be understood by smart people. Like Adventure times depths are wild. Definitely adult swim worthy. So crazy we where able to experience this as children on CN
I never really cared for this episode when I was you younger but now I know that this is kind of a sweet yet sad episode
One of my favorite episodes still
Magic, madness, and sadness baby. I feel like Guisseppe embodied that
For me it's the lemon hope saga, the song at the end and the abandoned state of Ooh was so sad. It made me miss home myself
Ugh this episode made me cry too
Omg yes i remembered crying to this as a kid
Best CN show ever. So many amazing episodes with hidden layers u wouldnt expect until u really think about it.
When I first watch this episode I couldn't help but to cry I mean come on he lived his life to the fullest and died peacefully😢😢😢
This episode is the reason i want to name my son Giuseppe ✋️💀
It's been years since I watched this episode and this YT short was the first that made me finally understand the episode lmao
I love this show it makes you think of the past is funny and sad in the same time and I love it
Adventure time is wonderful it never fails to make my eyes water up
Bro just overwhelm with the past 😢
I remember this episode 😢
i remember this episode, this was by far the best episode, tied with the last.
Literally most enjoyable series to binge watch. Some episodes will literally have you crying bro
God, I loved this episode. I may not remember many episodes of Adventure Time, but this one. Will never forget.
Black Mage Lore states: Love, not Hate.
i also love this episode, and its up there in my overall favorite episodes with memory of a memory, card wars, and hall of egress
This one is gonna be long so strap in. Years ago I used to take shrooms with my buddy all the damn time and for whatever reason we would always find ourselves watching adventure time. One night we took our shrooms and my buddy immediately passed out leaving me on a solo trip, which is fine if the homie needs sleep the homie needs sleep. So I let him fade and threw on some adventure time to keep me tied to this reality cause I took a larger amount than normal that night. What felt like days of watching adventure time went by until eventually it got to this episode. I watched it all laughing and crying along the way while trying not to wake my buddy. It’s gets to the end of the episode, the screen goes black and from the void I hear my buddy quietly say “Giuseppe”. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life and too this day I’ll quietly say that to myself whenever I watch this episode
Gotta love how this episode doesn't focus on Finn and Jake for once and it's just Ice King and other characters.
Thats right Giuseppe.....thats right
Giuseppe has been burned in mind for years and I will not forget.
Giuseppe is a chad. Also felt sad when I saw that ring and wink at the end of the episode.
Giuseppe is the inside joke between my dad and me, we worship him
This episode teaches an important lesson. Never judge books by its cover and never count anybody out. The one you believe have the least to offer, actually has the most to give. OK, its a couple of lessons. Remember Guisseppe.
This is one of my favorite episodes. It was also equally hilarious
LIVE LAUGH LOVE GUISSEPPE
"Leaves from the vine, falling so slow."
Ice King: "What's wrong with y'all"
Look who's asking
I cried in season 4 episode 25, The episode is the most emotional of Adventure Time, so it could be obvious.
