- In today’s video, I will embark on the unprecedented quest of building my most precious handmade lure to date, by combining two of the most valuable materials out there into a single lure: gold leaf and mother of pearl aka nacre. This will give me the opportunity to show you two techniques you don’t see everyday in lure making: gilding with gold leaf and processing mother of pearl, in order to use it as a lining. I really like both sides. But I don’t like the fact that the lure has different faces… For my taste - I would like it more if the mother pearl was on both sides and the gold on the top and bottom side. But that’s just my though. Anyway, good job man 👍🏻

on how to print exact stencil size on paper i designed a sitckbait and a popper of 12.5 and 15 centimeter in adobe illustrator with exact measurement and when i got print the size will be different and i don't have a printer my friend been printing that from his office
Oh I see, that usually happens because somewhere along the print setup, your friend may have flagged the "resize" option, or "adapt to page size". Be sure that those options are off, otherwise the print will be different from what you designed

Sorry for being late, Steven, and thanks for asking. If you are referring to the aluminum foil, stopping halfway through while engraving it, actually implies more work for me than engraving the whole part and then removing the exceeding part 😉

I have some questions for you... 1)What kind of paints do you use? Are they water based acrylic? I use Createx. 2)Normally what is the pressure that you use for painting?..3)I noticed that you used a transparent spray coat to protect the base colouring, that is an excellent idea instead to apply a resin coat to protect it. What kind of spray did you use for it?...It was very clever to use that transparent plastic wrap to avoid to grease with your fingers the lure…. I’ve got many new ideas for my next works…😊 ... Congrats for your work and thanks for sharing your tips... until your next video...
Thank you very much for your kind words, Antonio. We also share the same name, almost! As for your questions, I use Hansa Pro Color and yes, they are acrylic. I tend to prefer them over the Createx because of the smaller pigments, they almost need no dilution. I spray at about 1.5 bar/20 psi, I rarely go higher than that. The transparent spray coat is aimed at sealing the paint job, and gives me a pristine surface to resin on, of course is not the final coat, but it serves the purpose just fine! The product is in the description, it's a italian brand, so I donìt know much about international shipping, sadly. I hope that helped, and please keep up the good work! Take care, A.

Glad to hear that, thank you! Yep, as a general rule, the thinner the better. As long as you secure it with paper tape in one side while cutting it, you should be good

Sorry for being late in getting back to you. Any epoxy should do the job, but I recommend you to go with one that has longer curing times, possibly overnight, so you have plenty of time to handle mother-of-pearl during application, which can be quite tricky and time consuming 😉
