Hey man, great points in the video. I just picked one of these up, a 14 in ‘two’ trim level, clean title, 85k miles. Bought from a friend for only $6k! It’s gonna be my elderly mom’s daily driver so I’ll be maintaining it for her. Such a cool little economy car on so many ways!
Mine is at 183k. Have there been any major things you had to do with it? On mine according to the records, the hybrid battery was changed at 100k. The only thing recently I had to get replaced was the water pump at like 182k.
2009 Prius here. Bought it with 246K miles, and it now has just over 250k miles. It was still getting in the low to mid 40s mpg on its original hybrid battery. I decided to replace the hybrid battery this past May. And with all those miles, it doesn't even burn oil. Whoever had it before me regularly changed the oil, and I'm so glad.
That’s amazing! And probably you will do another 50k on it and sell it for same price you bought) those Priuses going by condition, and low mileage old Priuses still selling 8-10k.
When I am in a Prius, always using Eco, it might feel sluggish and unresponsive on busy roads, but better mpg. And from an experienced taxi drivers with 400k+ miles on a cluster, I learned they mostly on eco, and almost not touching an engine with expensive repairs. It’s just my personal opinion on it.
I know for fact, 2010-2012 Priuses regular, had a recall and free of charge bulb replacement by Toyota dealers for that constant issue. Hope they still doing it.
I have a 2012 type 2 same color with 81k trouble free miles. My headlight went out after 8 years, tail light and 12 volt battery after 9 years. I'm going to keep it as long as I can. Average 52-53mpg without hypermiling or on eco mode.
I have a 2012 C level 3 and I love my car. Over the last 14 years it has saved us boatloads of money. I’m getting close to 120,000 on it so there will be some additional maintenance coming up. I do however have what I believe might be a ballast problem on my headlamps, since I was driving and the low beams went out. Bulbs look good. This happened in Florida so I don’t know if the humidity pushed this to happen. I did not see moisture in the lens but any feed back would be great. Keeping this car forever.
That’s one of the best hybrid I know for sure! Nothing on a market to compare it with Prius C, idk why they stop producing it😪 I would check that ballast online, cheap aftermarket works great on Toyotas & Lexuses I know for fact!
@@AndyLaRides Hey Andy thanks for the response. Do you happen to know a part # for the ballast? I have been searching but not having much luck on a confirmation for the exact part # . Maybe many models use the same ballast which is why it’s not differentiated by model. Thanks
Right now november/24 ibhave the chance to Buy a 2012 Prius C..... Is it worth it? I have a 2017 óptima hybrid for My wife and a 2004 Tahoe. But i want to save some gas.
The best one if you can find with last facelift 2015- I would definitely buy it. It’s such a great car with almost 0 problems. Get rid of optima as soon as you can)
The Prius will always be a great driver’s car. This won’t be an issue in Los Angeles but here in Massachusetts you do have the problem of gas mileage being much worse in the winter time when you have to use the heater. It’s not really the fault of the Prius, though.
Kind of high mileage, but still worth it as a daily. Used or rebuilt main battery for $500 only issue you might gonna get later on, used engines $200, means: they never going bad)
After I see Japan had one: Toyota Aqua G GR Sport, I want it now so bad! Prius C was a great part of Toyota history for 10years, still can’t understand why they canceled it. Corolla hybrid great car, but C just something else.
I have a 2015 with 118000 miles Awesome car only did oil changes and new tires every 40k miles Even fun to drive and I drive it way more than my TT 2022 because it takes no effort to drive and 50mpg??

duuuuude amazing deal.
It’s a super deal! Too bad they don’t want to make this great car anymore. We need to save money, gas $6-7 now.
What a steal. Im looking at one with 285k miles and needs a hybrid battery for $3500. $5000 with the battery. I'm in California tho.
Love the video. Very informative.
I love my 2015 Prius. Still have it today 187k
Have you changed hybrid battery yet? Heard it's very expensive

Love my 2021 Prius C. Made in Japan, bought in Mexico. Perfect city and highway car.
14:00 so are you saying that its better to always keep eco mode on for a healthier car?

And from an experienced taxi drivers with 400k+ miles on a cluster, I learned they mostly on eco, and almost not touching an engine with expensive repairs. It’s just my personal opinion on it.
Yes, you are indeed doing a good job dear Andy LaRides. I've heard the headlight bulbs die early is due to the bumpiness of the front suspension.
I know for fact, 2010-2012 Priuses regular, had a recall and free of charge bulb replacement by Toyota dealers for that constant issue. Hope they still doing it.
@@AndyLaRideswhat do you mean by regular ?

Prius C still on sale in Japan, known as Toyota Aqua. There is a new model launched in 2021.
That’s great! Hope they bring one to US
I love my Aqua (prius c) 2013, best car ever
Sad, they not producing those anymore. Truly best city hybrid ever!

It’s kinda issue here too, a/c and heater both bringing mpg down! Have you ever seen rusted Priuses in Massachusetts?😁
Great video! I'm looking at used one 2014 with about 220K miles, dealer asking 6K
Kind of high mileage, but still worth it as a daily. Used or rebuilt main battery for $500 only issue you might gonna get later on, used engines $200, means: they never going bad)
I know this is a year old but I don’t think the Prius C will be coming back as it was basically replaced by the Corolla Hybrid
After I see Japan had one: Toyota Aqua G GR Sport, I want it now so bad! Prius C was a great part of Toyota history for 10years, still can’t understand why they canceled it. Corolla hybrid great car, but C just something else.
I have the 2016 Prius C aka known as the toyota aqua. Great car, one of the best.
Toyota should bring it back! We need more Prius C available for sale this days with $6/gallon gas prices 😂
I have a 2015 with 118000 miles

👍👍
my prius C bought new 275K miles.
Nice! Any expensive repairs done? Maybe battery, but engine should be original still🤔
Any issues? Abutting replaced?
