Hi MaryThe easiest way to foil stamped images is with a glue like Tack it Over and Over. Sponge the glue onto the stamp, stamp it, allow to dry for a minute or two and foil. It will work even with the cheap foils (for nails etc) or any you find in craft shops. The glues are water based and will wash off, just have a bowl of water on the table. If you have a cutting machine that takes pens, a Sakura ball point glue pen works a treat and will give fine detail. If you happen to have leftover photo card, that makes nice backgrounds too. Pixabay is a great resource for images. Your scan n cut is great for making use of your scraps because you scan in your scrap and choose your cut out to fit it.
Years ago when my grandmother passed, she owned about 500 cassette tapes! And everyone of those tape were in holders that hung on the wall. I got those holders ( my family thought I had lost it) but I knew they would hold my ink pads....what awesomeness. You and I think a lot alike; I also use a nail polish holder for my ink blenders and I use an oven liner mat for my craft mat. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one that sees crafty in everything! Thanks for this video; I got some new ideas for other stuff I had laying around. That magnet sheet is the best though.....die storage is my nemesis.
I always like to read other crafters comments cos one can learn from them too and sharing is caring as told to me via my 4 year old grand-munchkins. Thank you Kimberly Siddons for your ideas for storage too.
WOW...These are some of the BEST hacks I’ve heard yet. 💕 My favs are: 1. Covering a clipboard with a craft mat. 2. Scan and Cut your images BEFORE coloring them. BUT, I would put a little removable tape on the back of my cut image and then place it on a scrap paper that is bigger than the image. That way I can turn the image easily while coloring. (Feel free to share this idea) 3. Aligning shaker cards in the corner of the Misti. 4. Fill an empty Copic marker with Gamsol.
WOW what a great compliment; thank you so much! I really appreciate that. YAY! So happy they are helpful and YES that's a great tip about the tab to move it around.
Ooo...#2 is a REALLY GREAT idea!! I'm going to put an example of that in WITH my coloring "stuff" so I remember to do that! (I forget all these cool ideas UNTIL I've practiced their use several times.)
I’ve been making shaker bags for yrs. I use my seal~a~meal bags (clear) & machine. I also use colored hair gel (blue) to simulate water. Think fish bowl. I cut from larger card stock so I have 3 panels. 1 panel folds under as to hide the bag. So it opens like a reg card but panel #1 folds over. I use either fun foam reg, fun foam thick or foam tape to tape the panel down & give it room to shake. Amy Jones Apex, NC
I've been enjoying your hacks. For a craft mat, one idea is a sheet protector. A piece of chipboard between two white sheets of paper. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Thanks for the great tips! One note - instead of using the low tack tape, you can actually buy Sizzix Sticky Grid Sheets for use in a stamp positioner. They have low tack adhesive on both sides, have a grid and are the perfect size for a standard Misti, but can easily be cut to size. Pack of 5 sells for about $5 but they last a very long time.
Mary, my friend, get an essential glue pad, ink your stamp with it, give it 30-60 seconds to get tacky, then put your foil on top and run it through your die cutter between two cutting plates works like a charm
Omg I've been point blank refusing to pay the extortionate price they charge for ink storage so the cassette holder idea is a bloody game changer! Some brilliant hacks here - love it! Thank you for another great video! Xxx
Yes, I wanted to do the same but couldn't get my hands on them- even tried Goodwill and thrift shops. I ended up succumbing to buying one of the expensive ones. Good luck on your search!
I'm so glad that you made this video..it is great. Also 1 tip hack would be PVC pipe for a faux wine rack...glued toghether. I just subscribed to your channel.
Great hacks, especially the giant magnet for holding dies. I have a bunch I use over and over, too, so if I can just find that empty little space, I'm going to do the same. I was thinking the side of a file cabinet (not metal) might do. Thanks for the ideas. :-)
My goodness. This was by far one of the best craft hack videos I have ever watched. I absolutely love every idea. You hit a home run with this one Mary. Great job and thank you for it and also sharing the links. If I had to pick my top three they would be: the sealer cutter for making shaker bags (also a great way to use cellophane packaging), the clipboard with baking paper, the sticky paper or tape on the Misti. (But they were all pretty fabulous). Oh I have to add a 4th: using scraps to add dimension which you could also do with any die cut as well as fussy cutting. And I agree: the Dollar store is such a fun place for thinking outside the box when it comes to inexpensive ideas for storage. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😄👍🏼👍🏼. 10 thumbs up!

Fantastic ideas. You really come up with some great substitutes, gotta do your clip board and empty marker pen! Looks like I need to hit the flea markets and rethink what I see there!! I am thinking a mechanics rack they hang with the little drawers for nuts and bolts for sequins and charms and stuff! Should have gotten this from my husband when he retired and auctioned off everything in the shop! His was clean too so that would have been great!

Mary, you are my hero. Love the hacks. One to share with you. I use a "used" circut mat , cut to fit my misti, for adhering cardstock without magnets. Have done this for sometime now. Works well. Thanks.
Yet another fabulous video. I am rather proud of the way I've sorted my dies. They’re stored in cut down wine boxes (aren’t I classy!) that I then covered with book covering (contact). I was really surprised to discover though that the release paper left over makes a great surface for blending. So now i have a few large sheets of that, and some small ones from other covering projects, and i use them when i’m ink blending. They won’t have the longevity of the suggestion you have, but until i can get to a shop that stocks those heat mats (I live in a very small town) I think it will work well. Thanks Again for all the wonderful ideas.
Wait...so the boxes of wine you used for dies was from boxed wine or a box that had wine bottles in it? I need to know the level of classy we are discussing. I'm a boxed wine fan...throw it in the fridge and pull out the spout....that's my kind of classy! hahaha love it. Great idea for storage too; thanks so much for sharing!
@@marypolancodesigns bwahahah! I mean the boxed wine or, as my mother calls it, Chateau Cardboard! Just cut down the sides on an angle so the front is maybe one third to half the height of the back. I store my dies in envelopes because that way they're all the same size (and most of them are sent to me by my best friend in the Netherlands. She gets them from their equivalent of a dollar store and removes the packaging before posting them to me in Australia). It all works quite well.
Thanks for putting together these tip videos. I'm binge watching them in preparation for moving to a place where I'll have lots more space to craft. So useful! 🙏🏻
Oh my! So many hacks that I need😃 my mind is working overtime trying to figure out how and where I’m going to place magnet boards! My desk has open space (IKEA) and brick wall and windows, so I can’t utilize wall space. Thanks for the Hacks💕
Cynthia , how about buying several jumbo metal key holders and using a hole puncher on several magnetic sheets that are 5X7 or what ever size will work for you. And hanging them on your peg board? It’s just an idea.

I like the idea of taping down the images to color them. I bought a small turntable from Amazon and tape them to that. This way I can turn the image as needed. I love these videos so much! Off to Dollar Tree I go!
Such great tips, Mary. Yes, I did know some of them, but many I had either forgotten or didn’t really know. We moved 3 states this year and it is taking me 4Ever to get my craft space set up. This was invaluable for me. THANKS! ❣️🤗🥰

We found two LARGE pictures at a thrift store for $2 a piece and covered them with magnetic sheets. Painted the frames and hung them they were cheap and look fantastic.
Hi Mary. I found your videos a few wks ago and I’m so glad I did! I’ve been scrapbooking for many yrs so mostly make 12x12 layouts but your techniques carry over so well. This video of hacks is just awesome. One think I really appreciate is you taking time to create links to all the things you use in your videos. Thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us!

Great ideas, Mary! I love this video! I will be watching again! I use the acrylic nail polish holders too. I also had an old Keurig spinning k-cup holder that I use for embossing powders. I am redoing my craft room, but in my old one, I had the magnetic sheets for vent covers (from Home Depot) for my dies. I put them on the back of my door and on the front of my cabinets. I attached them with the 3M removable strips. Since I started out with Stampin’ Up! stamps, I have them all stored in a DVD cabinet. I could go on, but will stop! 😆 Thanks for the great tips! Hugs!
Love these ideas! YEs i had that for my embossing powders as well but I ran out of table space. I do have a Keurig K cup drawer though that is meant for underneath the Keurig machine. I use it for all my washi tape! woooohoooo! lol
sorry for another FYI, scrapbooking made simple makes heat resistant double-sided tape, non-stick non-slide craft mats, 100 pound cardstock, and their own beautiful stamps and dies, their tape is more expensive than scrapbook.com, but it's great stuff!
Hi Mary, I'm new to your channel. I discovered it by accident and I'm so glad I did! Your tips and hacks are amazing. The money saving tips are much appreciated. As this can be an expensive hobby I am thankful for any and all ways I can save. Can't wait to binge watch the rest of your videos!

Sooooo many very wonderful tips. I did want to point out you can make alcohol markers with any ink refills. Really great when you are working on a project and your marker is dry.

Just found your channel yesterday. I rarely subscribe until I have watched most of your videos to make sure it’s a good fit for me! Thank you for being informative with out too much talking and silliness. Just the right mix with a touch of humor and humility. Subscribed!
Thank You so much Cathy! I am so glad you are joining me! I can't always promise I won't talk too much, but I will always try to be informative.
Oh, these were awesome helpful hacks! Thanks Mary 🎨😍🍦
You are so welcome! I'm so happy they were helpful!
I use it for all my washi tape! woooohoooo! lol
Foil with heat gun… new crafter here, I’m going out to get embossing powder and some fools TODAY!!! Thanks!
YAY I'm so so happy this inspired you. Thank you for taking the time to let me know
Thank you for great tips.
You are so welcome! Thank you!
omg the snowflakes with foil is so amazing!
Oh thank you so much! I loved making those cards; so so fun
sorry for another FYI, scrapbooking made simple makes heat resistant double-sided tape, non-stick non-slide craft mats, 100 pound cardstock, and their own beautiful stamps and dies, their tape is more expensive than scrapbook.com, but it's great stuff!
Awesome thank you!
wow! I am so excited to try this!
YAY! so fun
Great hacks. Thanks so much Mary. 😊
