That heroic clone who destroyed the shield deserves a medal and more recognition for the most significant action by a single unnamed clone trooper. He basically won the battle for the Republic and that battle was very crucial to the Republic’s victory in the war.
lack of recognition for sacrifice and heroism was probably another reason in a long list of reasons many clones would not have questioned order 66 even without the chip.
Midway and Stalingrad were literally polar opposites, midway was a massive naval battle that went on for a few days while Stalingrad lasted through the entire Russian winter and was a desperate fight for both the Russians and the germans. Get for facts strait idiots.
Are we all just sleeping on the fact that the clones were somewhat held back from their full potential by superiors with bad tactics? The clones were perfectly capable of creating genius tactics on their own if necessary, but we see multiple times that clones have to obey their orders, even if there are better options.
Have you ever heard of the Umbara Campaign ? That is the hole point, the Jedi lost their way when they alligned with the Republic and had no issue by using a slave army of clones.
Well standard clones used to not really have any form of independence, before the 2008 clone wars show clones were basically as independent as drones, they could fight, and that was pretty much it, they only did what they were told how they were told, really only commanders, arcs, and commandos had any real sentience
This is why the clones didn't even need the chip in the EU. Order 66 probably felt great, letting them wipe out the idiot leaders who'd gotten tens of thousands of their brothers killed.
Geetsly's mentioned in another video that the jedi's tactics were built on their tactics in a previous war in the distant past, which was mainly against sith. So they would do dumb things like rush their troops forward to close with the enemy for no reason
I thought the same thing. Another dimension for travelling far distances. Except if you go through an object like a planet or star it ducks it up and u die. The nethers not affected by the over world like that
@Samuel Dimmock Yeah, that was a given and it was already explained as to why you'd use hyperspace in the alloted routes. It's so you don't get obliterated into a million pieces.
Seems the only real problem in this verse and in this war was that there weren't ALOT more Clones in general besides the general lack of the most deadly, effect and badass ones. Even against the absolute lethalest the CIS had to offer How lucky for Shak Ti the key position was a prison of those that weren't too happy with the CIS.
How about a strategic video comparing the 2 separate Battles of Kamino seen during the Clone Wars. The one in Canon seen in the 2nd episode of the 3rd season of the Star Wars The Clone Wars TV series, and the Legends one as seen in the Comics Republic 50: Defense of Kamino and also played in the Star Wars Battlefront 1 game from 2004?
Hody: It ain’t no earth but it must be important. Commander Heavy: We need to destroy those ion cannons before the gunships land or we’ll all die. Unnamed 442nd lieutenant: we just lost four of our gunships and commander Fist is missing! Hody: I knew we should have brought my personal squad of 442nd clone commandos! Commander Heavy: It’s do or die now, for the 442nd!
zach duperron I loved the original LEGO clone troopers especially 442nd. I own every of them and he was always my favorite those green marks are so cool.
How was it make or break if the entire Clone Wars was a sham and the Republic was never in actual danger of losing because it was all being orchestrated by Palpatine. That's what I don't like about the Clone Wars, none of the victories or defeats really matter because it was all being controlled by Sidious who would never allow the CIS to actually win.
Hey Geets, would you mind doing a video on the Nexus route from the Citidel arc of the Clone Wars? It sounded like it was really important but we never got to see how having it would affect either side.
I would love a fuller analysis of why Umbara was important. The Clone Wars episode tells us that it controls supply routes or something, but nothing more.
This is what I love about shak ti she is such a pragmatic but caring jedi capable of making actually good tactical decisions I'm sure clones would have loved working under her
Good video, though you should have explained the reason for the rushed attack, and the heavy casualties that resulted. And that "top comment" is pretty bad.
Naboo. Is there any other strategic value the planet or the system itself provides besides plasma? And not also the fact that it is the homeworld of Palpatine.
Naboo is the capital of Chommel Sector, and seems to lie on a crossroads of at least two trade routes, the Enarc Run and the Old Trade Federation Route - sector taxes and shipping tithes seem to be how it maintains its economic prosperity, despite having precious little industrialisation.
Jedi: Shaak Ti. It's part of the larger Dark Horse Comics Clone Wars stories, combing both the Jedi one-shots and the ongoing Republic series. If you've never read the, check 'em out. Great stories.
Im still asking myself even with hyperspacelanes if one ship jumps into hyperspace on a lane and another ship is flying in the same lane at the same time and they fly in into one antoher couldnt there be hyperspace chrashes? I mean there would be thousands of ships using the same routes at the same time right?
If they don't have enough mass then no. That's why Interdictor ships were so damned dangerous, especially for the Rebellion. Imagine being ripped out of hyperspace as the overrides kick in only to have turbo lasers and fighters swarm you.
Hmm... this battle seems like one of those battles that could have been better planned but wasn’t because someone wanted to rush in and die. And I ain’t talking about the Clones.
It was well planned, but the Republic had been fed false info when their spy ring was discovered, which rendered all that planning somewhat moot. It's pretty well spelled out in the comic.

Geetley’s no one recognizes or cared about the clones sacrifice. Shaak ti didn’t even care.
Just want to throw this out there: that was one clone who took out the shield generator. He wasn't even an ARC or a commando.
Then he should be made an ARC trooper, if dead, make him one posthumously.
Clones are the real deal
Most importantly: He was a hero and a bad ass.

I love the old dark horse clone wars comics

republiccommando1138 good idea. Geetsly write a book please.
The Essential Guide to Warfare is essentially that, and it's one of the best SW books ever written.
