does anyone else get massively inspired while listening to Lauren sing? Like her voice makes me wanna start writing some epic tale of heroism, heartache, and triumph.
Thank you all. It was a few years ago but it still feels like parts of my lungs are missing. I watched Anchorman on repeat, and listened to May It Be/Into The West on repeat just to get through those months of my newly shattered reality. This song can help heal, and Lauren did such an amazingly beautiful job with it. 💛✌🏾
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the last couple hours I have been watching and listening to covers of this. I have seen some remarkable talent. Then I came upon this. It captures the natural simplicity and purity of the original but, the setting, free of special vocal mics and fancy acoustics, is astonishing. Absolutely amazing.
~ Lyrics ~ Lay down Your sweet and weary head The night is falling You have come to journey's end Sleep nowAnd dream of the ones who came before They are calling From across the distant shore Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see All of your fears will pass away Safe in my armsYou're only sleeping What can you seeOn the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? For the original I always get chills at "On the horizon" which frequently become tears by the time we get to "all will turn to silver glass" (a quote from Gandalf to Pippin about death). You passed that litmus test with flying colors
This is mindblowingly beautiful. I lost a dear friend, my horse, last week and this makes believe I will see him again one day. He is not gone just travelled ahead. Thank you for covering this very special song with your ethereal voice ❤
LOTR is a huge part of my life, and no joke this is hands down my favorite version of this song. Absolutely stunning, and moving in every word you sang. You're an angel for sharing this with all of us
Im actually sat here...listening to this wonderful Angel sing this glorious song...with tears of pure emotional joy streaming down my face! Thank you SO much Lauren...it was absolutely perfect...flawless in fact! I requested this a while back for reasons very personal...and I truly had no doubt you would smash it...that you did!! From the bottom of my heart...Thank you, Thank you and Thank you!!🥰🥰😇🙏🏻Amazing!!!
Your singing literally gave me an experience. I was walking down a park after it rained and just you singing and the trees really had me miss a place I’ve never been to.
This song takes me back to backpacking in Europe. Watched this on the flight home from England. It was the end of a long journey. Love how music does that.
I wonder, do your neighbors ever get frightened from hearing such mystical and enchanting vocals coming from the stairwell? Sounds amazing as always Mrs. Paley keep it up.
You've done this song a great justice and it definitely brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing...this song is very dear to me as I lost my dad almost 1 year ago and had to watch him slip away whilst I held his hand and say goodbye, and the whole time I had this song playing in my head. Always adored this song, but from that moment on, it resonated with me on a whole new level and I ended up reading the lyrics that I included in my eulogy at my dad's funeral.
When you sing the “on the hori-“, your voice is so perfect & free & floaty with lovely breath support! I’d love to see more of that warmth & support in your voice on the lower notes & heading into that higher beltier sound. Keep up the great work! You have a lovely voice.
This song was partly written in memory of young NZ Filmmaker Cameron Duncan, who was a friend of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. I urge everyone to look up his story and watch his films.
I thought that it sounded good in the movie. I heard your version and I cried. Your voice is very powerfully resonating. Now sing it in your room, without the echo.
Wonderful!!! Had your collaboration with misty to wake up to and now this amazing performance that I requested when you asked on here a few weeks ago, super YAY!!!
Thank you for this Lauren! .....made me break down in tears.... This was so so beautiful, you sound like an angel singing to me. Thank you so much.... I lost my Uncle not too long ago. He loved LOTR. On the night of his passing I stood outside beneath the moon and sang this for him. "...the ships have come, to carry you home...." 😭
Oh sweet Siren of the Magical stairwell, another wonderful song (and seeing Cogsworth smiling behind you as you sing, like a guardian of our Angel of song) ❤❤👍👍

DO. IT!
Okay. Is she an elf? A Siren? Both? This is just too amazing!!!
Please do more songs from lord of the rings. So many amazing ones you can do!
Siren. She is definitely a Siren.
I think an Elf and a Siren had a child - a Heavenly, beautiful child with an amazing voice.
You else would jump on an album of her "stairwell recordings"?
Oh yes. Most definitely!!! This is a great idea
she could name it "Stairwell Serenades"
If these were on iTunes I would already own them all
She sounds awesome.
Please, please PLEASE do Arwen's Fate from LOTR. That would be one to sing in that stairwell. You would sound incredible ❤️❤️
Yes yes yes!!!!! The song is called Evenstar
Aniron please!
Yes, please!!!!
PLease!
YESAH!
This is a strong punch to the feels
Tears. Already. My goodness. The tears won't stop. This song helped me grieve my father's premature passing. Thank you for this.
May he Rest In Peace ❤️🤲🏻and give you strength.
Give you strength 💪🏼 😊
I’m praying for God to give u peace and strength through this hardship

@@sersastark I can’t even imagine! Idk what I would do in ur situation 🥺 God bless you❤️
The high pitch part from "The Last March of the Ents" would be perfectly executed by Lauren's angelic voice.

Once again, this proves that the most beautiful instrument is the human voice.

Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell?!?
~ Lyrics ~
Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
The night is falling
You have come to journey's end
Sleep nowAnd dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my armsYou're only sleeping
What can you seeOn the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All Souls pass
Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don't say
We have come now to the end
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping
And all will turnTo silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West
Songwriter: Howard Shore / Philippa Boyens / Annie Lennox
Thank you!
Heck with the elevator! Beautiful! Touches the soul...
And the leaves are turning
from green to gold,
And the sun is fading
I wish I could hold you CLOSER.

That's where I always start crying, too.
Almost two decades old and it never gets old! Thanks for singing that song
This is my favorite LOTR Song,
But, I never could get through it without crying in the middle, still can't.
So Beautiful!
I hadn’t planned to cry today, but now I did. Amazing.

If you're a reader of Tolkien, this song hits you harder. I love it, incredible interpretation. Greetings from Chile.
Thank you,
My mom passed away about a month ago, she always adored this song, I think you captured the emotion and the essence perfectly.

I am crying. Your voice and that song combined… it‘s incredible!
Literal goosebumps. Wow.
I thought I already cried enough with this song back in 2003, but here I am, crying again 😭😅...
The 4 people who disliked this video...are either tone deaf or jealous! There was nothing to dislike. Such a pure voice! Thank you for covering this.
LITERALLY GOOSEBUMPS!!! OMG!! Her singing + LOTR = 😱👌🏻 Perfection!
Your voice is perfect for LOTR! Please do more of them

I always thought this was such a beautiful song with great depth, but Lauren and her voice has added so much emotion.❤❤❤
the song choice gives me such nostalgia and ur voice is just pure honey and stardust, you make me sob
I am in awe of your perfect pitch! My mind automatically filled in the instrumentation from the original Annie Lennox track.

This song was partly written in memory of young NZ Filmmaker Cameron Duncan, who was a friend of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. I urge everyone to look up his story and watch his films.
I remember Cameron's work on the fair go ad awards when I was young. Such a heart breaking story. He would have been an amazing film director. ❤️
His short films are masterpieces. They're included on the extended version dvds
Gossebumps from beginning to end. Holy shit. Phenomenal.
Finally ! An LOTR cover I've been searching for ages. I badly want this to be played in my funeral 😭🤍
So grateful for your gift
I am COVERED in goosebumps, this song brings back so many memories and you sang it perfectly. Thank you for uploading this

"why do you weep?"
Me: weeping like crazy unable to speak
Yup.....the line “hope fades” puts me over the edge, and then it’s just tears.
"I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil"
Me, every time.

Best song from lord of the rings and EASILY the BEST cover I've ever heard
This moved me more than soundtrack.. brought a tear to my eye
Hopefully I’ll be hearing this voice in movies in the future!
