I think I've been waiting my whole life for these kinds of discussion in English. As someone born and raised in America, these are the kinds of questions we've had for a very long time. This kind of clarity in thought is so refreshing. Thank you!! Please let us know if we can support your podcast from outside India

@@Bhakthamrutham I was actually disturbed to note the assertion by the host that he would not go to any other temples other than the Vaishnavite temples - perhaps only to தென்கலை temples ( this is my interpretation)!
Again. In Srivaishnava sampradayam, one of our basic tenets is to not worship other gods. So, we follow it. That's the whole point. Respect other sampradaya's tenets
In Srivaishnava sampradaya, devotees consider Shriman Narayana to be their 'Bharthaa'(husband) and are exclusively dedicated to his service. We don't go to the temples of other devataas because, there, the other devataas (according to their aagamas, tantras) are consecrated as the main deities and Shriman Narayana is not present or is consecrated as a mere parivara devata. This has been the practice in Srivaishnava sampradaya for hundreds of years with clear mentions in Srivaishnava texts. So, it's not something we, living today , have come up with. So, if you want the Hindus to unite, first, you must acknowledge the different tenets and practices of each sampradaya and try to respect them. If the core tenets of each sampradaya need to be destroyed for us to get united, then what's the purpose of being united?
Great initiative. Very interesting. Approach and language make it easy to share with so-called "Hindu" friends from different backgrounds so that we can improve introspection and awareness. Adiyen Ramanujadasi. 🙏🏼

Adiyen , Due to swami’s Krupa I have a podcast I can share to my peers falling pray to pseudo secularism And holding opinions like equality of avaidika vaidika siddhantas even after being Vaishnavas Dassoham🙇🏼♂️
Unity in diversity and that is the meaning of Sampradhyas. I loved the definition of the Swamiji what is being in Hindu/Sanatini is only having a FIRST belief & understanding in/of your Sampradhayas and expand it to include all other Sampradhayas from there...Great articulation. Fell in love. Namaskarams...
I am Gaudiya Vaishnava but white european. So I probibly know more about Sanatana Dharma than many "Hindus" in India by Gurus Grace. Sanatana Dharma is not a genetical thing of race just for "Hindus". Greedings from Vienna Austria
Can a Vaishnava layman worship ugra devata like Narasimha ? Or is it best to do worship of shanth devtas like sri ram, sri krishna etc. Also since Narasimha is an ugra devata does he require bali similar to Kali ma or Kaa bhairav ?
First of all, all 4 Vaishnva Sampradaya prohibits bali of innocent animals. Which is not prescribed in Vedic Literatures. Ugra Nrisimha is Urga for asuras, Not for his devotees. Even Nrisimha took ugra Rupa for Saving Vaishnva Shiromani Prahlada maharaja. But one has to be very strict Brahmachari to worship Ugra Nrisimha deity.
Jai Srimannarayana Adrien Ramanuja dasan Please make short length videos with various titles like 30,20,15,10, minutes are so . I think then only discussions may reach out to the people who are interested. 🙏
Im an American and first got into Ramana Maharshi in 2011 and had the non dual realization experience several time. Then got into Swami Sarvapriyananda talks and learned a lot more. Now im getting into Bhakti and Ramanuja is making more sense than Shankarcharya Like i never agreed that the world is unreal. Which is a reason i leaned toward Kashmir Shaivism as i learned more about it and traditional Advaita.
Jai srimanarayan 🙏 Very nice, it was really informative. Like to know more about sri Sampradaya and it's philosophy vishita advait. Please make video on what is vishita advait 🙏.
About wearing dhoti: When one wears a trouser, he is not worried about that coming off like a dhoti. At least that was the case with me, until I found the way (from youtube!) to wear (even without a belt) in a way that stays on for several hours. Discarded clothing is one of the top pollutants in the environment. Wearing dhoti minimizes that problem because there is no need to buy new ones just because one has grown taller, heavier, or thinner! More than the sampradayam, it is environmentally friendly AND economical. IMHO, our forefathers, found that from experience and made them sampradayams.
Namaskaram Swamin! Excellent questions and wounderful ansawes. Please advise or do something to our Vishnavas not to fight within Vaishnavas saying Vadakali and Thenkali. Is it really required? why should we be divided among us? Feel very sad when hear the fight amoung us. Swamy, please do talk each time for unity among us. Dasan Srinivasan
Namaskaram It was a pleasure to listen to this question answer session and my first experience with this channel was the english podcast with Keshava Ramanuja Das Swami. My mother's family is from Srirangam (if Uthamanambi Swami's name is familiar to you, he is my grandfather) so I have had a glimpse of our sampradayas. Yet there are so many questions. I did ask this to my father, but was not met with a satisfactory answer. The shraddham that is performed for elders who have passed are performed by the sons or brothers or brother's sons of the elders. For those of us who have no brothers, or whose parents have no sons, is there any way in our sampradayam for the daughters to perform the rituals, without the need of a male figure? Also, is there a reason why shraddham for children/young unmarried people is not performed? (I'm a Pediatric surgeon so this is something that I question when I experience difficult times after a very sick child passes away)
JAI SHREE RADHE 🙏🙏🙏 Thankyou Swamiji for the interesting analysis. I would like to humbly submit my views on Hindu religion as understood by me over the years after listening to various spiritual masters, though finally I was convinced of Bhakti marg after listening to Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji maharaj, the 5th Mool Jagadguru. He has explained clearly that for Kaliyuga , understanding Vedas is not possible for normal human beings and hence instead of wasting time and energy on it, we should go for Shri Krishn Bhakti under a God realised Guru to get the ultimate benefit, which was possible in ancient times by studying the Scriptures etc. PURPOSE OF RELIGION & HUMAN BIRTH: A Hindu viewpoint: 1. Purpose of religion is to enable one to know the real intention ( REF:10) of universal creation by the Creator, who is never born and is the eternal supreme being /Father of all. 2. Creation , maintenance and destruction is an eternal process going on from time immemorial, whose purpose will be explained below . 3. Religion enables one to slowly distinguish between temporary and permanent and their relevance. 4. As per Sanatan dharm, all living creatures are two-in-one, meaning body and spirit ( atma). Former is temporary and latter is permanent (Body also includes mind) 5. There are two worlds , one is permanent spiritual world and the other temporary material world , which is made up of the five material elements : Earth, Fire, Water , Ether and air. Our bodies are also made of these 5 temporary elements. In the spiritual world there is ever increasing happiness from the Lord just by serving Him, unlike in the material world where happiness keeps reducing and is also temporary whether related to people or things. Also we have to keep changing our objectives to get happiness again and again, unlike the spiritual world , where it keep increasing from the Lord. 6. Easy way to understand the two worlds is the figure "8" Upper circle is spiritual world and lower is material. Any path which keeps you in lower circle means you have to take birth again . Like those who follow karma-marg go to ' Swarg ', which is in lower circle. Hence it is not considered wise spiritually. Similarly those who follow Gyan- marg, merge their atma in Nirgun- brahman form of the Lord. This also is not considered high spiritually as the atma will not be able to serve the Lord anymore and get His anandam . 7. At the time of each Creation , all living entities are given a body as per their previous good and bad actions .There are totally 84 lakh type of bodies which includes micro-organisms, insects, reptiles, aquatic-creatures, birds, animals, gods/godesses and Human beings. 8. All bodies except human body are considered as Bhog-yoni or a body for enjoyment , which is as per the consciousness of that living entity . But this enjoyment is not free and it comes with suffering. However human body which is very rare to get , is considered as Karma-yoni or a body which has the power to understand the purpose of life and can implement that purpose , thus enabling it to exit from the cycle of birth and death and putting an end to suffering permanently. 9. The Creator or Lord( Shri Krishn , who showed the Vishwaroopa to Arjuna) gives complete freedom to the living entity ( atma) to use the senses. If we use the senses to please the Lord continuously ( UPAYOG) , it is considered as a 'surrendering atma' or truly serving . If not so the atma will be considered as 'enjoyer '( UPABHOG)and be subjected to Karmic laws, resulting in being born again and again. 10. REAL INTENTION OF THE CREATOR: Human life is an examination, to pass the surrender-exam and thus return to the upper circle or spiritual world and not to keep going up and down in the lower material circle which only gives temporary happiness and more of suffering . The Lord judges the atma whether it is trying to enjoy or surrender when it gets a human body as per its karma. Thus the relationship between atma and the Lord is permanent as He is with the atma in every birth. All other relationships are only for one birth. .11. THERE ARE 3 PATHS OR OPTIONS FOR THE ATMA: If the person is only religious , and performs rituals ( karma-marg) to please gods/godesses , which is also very difficult , the result will be "Swarg lok" which is for a temporary period . After enjoying in Swarg lok , the living entity will return to earth to start from lower- yoni birth ( insect, animal etc.) again, just like in a game of snake & ladder going up and down. If the living entity is not interested in any kind of service in material world or also service to the Creator, it can merge into the body of the Creator ( Gyan-marg) also considered as moksh or mukti by followers of Advaita practice, who consider the Lord as Nirgun-brahman ( formless aspect ). However even for Moksh , the person should do Krishn-bhakti which helps in complete cleansing of the consciousness for mukti. If the living entity is interested in serving the Lord ( Shri Krishn) in the spiritual world ( Bhakti- marg) and thereby get the pleasure of His "Anandam " in return, which keeps on increasing continuously for eternity, then it must think of completely surrendering to the Lord . For this the process will have to be through a Saint or God-realised person: "Shrotiya-Brahmanisht" or one who not only has theoretical knowledge of the Scriptures but also has practical experience of the Lord. By surrendering to such a saintly person, and by serving him through body, mind and wealth as much as possible, internal purification of the consciousness takes place and makes one eligible to be promoted to the permanent spiritual world, never to return to the temporary material world, where there is more of suffering birth after birth and happiness also is reducing and temporary from people and things.
Namaskaram, thanks for making the video in English. A kind request if possible make videos on English too alongwith Tamil and if resource is available make in Telugu.
Adiyen have one small request. Since ancient days till now, women plays a major and vital role in bringing up a family, though not so philosophically and physically, she is indeed a great influencer in bringing up the future generations in each and every family. So coming to the question, how can a women behave in such a way to preserve sanatana dharma with their kith and kins? How can a women strongly adhere herself to the Sampradayam, how can she contribute her services to Emperuman? Can you make it a podcast on Sthree dharma? Or answer it in any of ur Q&A sessions? Hope it can save the future generation girls and their highly elevated mind towards the lowkika society.
Good question ji....but idk properly but I heard from puranas even from Mahabharata tht women used to work outside house works... So telling women not to work is more abrahamic religion...in this economy in order to survive women are pushed to work for their own stability in this society....wht if the woman doesn't have a good family to provide for her? She is pushed to work to afford herself...so answering your questions while considering today's society is a little tricky...I wish adiyen consider this too while answering....
In my humble opinion, women must follow their Stri Dharma just like men follow Purusha Dharma. Note that this may appear insensitive to modern working women but I am not trying to belittle their passion or abilities, just stating what dharma is. Many aspects of dharma are also not instantly appealing to the average man, but what has to be stated should be stated. Stri Dharma is a sadhana in itself: just like a Jiva surrenders to Narayana or an Acharya for moksha, a wife surrenders to her husband who is in Acharya sthana. And she performs lifelong kainkaryam to him as he performs lifelong kainkaryam to Acharyas and Bhagavan. This is why those men who are doing vaidika shrauta smarta karmas have their wife accompany them. In the modern age, women go to work due to the socio-economic situation or due to their own interest. But if a woman is concerned about her sadhana she along with her husband should look to eventually accommodate more and more spirituality.
This is a lot idealistic in today's world. Can you state how many men are completely into kainkaryam today? Are they living a fully Vedic life ir following acharyaslike Koorathazhwan or Pillai Urangavilli dasar? If husband's can adapt to modern world while doing kainkaryam, use ACs, cars, bank accounts for sambhavanai, build own houses, get sambhavanai from non Vaishnavas, compare their own sambhavanais with other SriVaishnavas', etc etc, is it against Stri dharma for wives to adapt to modern world with education and work? Food for thought. Personally, I would think adopting and making psychological changes inclusive of principles of Saranagati and Emperuman as upayam and upeyam are far more important than physical or daily lifestyle changes.
@@svs4897this is off topic, but anna, can you make a separate video on the distinct Hatipada Shikha/Kudumi of our Sri Sampradayalu? Like what are its specifications, such as length, breadth etc? How to tie it as well? Acharyas always tell us to keep and grow long hair to shave into Hatipada Shikhas, but we don't know these things. Kindly guide us. You can also write its specifications underneath.
Hi Swamy - thank you for the introduction session on Sanathana Dharma and Sampradayas - lot of learning personally 🙏 My question: the main reason for conversion many say is Caste system in India - can you pls talk about it and how we can bring all castes and varnas together and include them in Sanathana fold, what sampradaya they should follow? Very few know their family sampradaya
It is good that the podcast on Srvishnava is in English. Though I, my family & my ancestors belong to Srivaishnavaism (Ayangar / Acharya )by birth, having moved to Andhra Pradesh, we cannot understand Tamil. I have some Questions: 1. Why should there be in 2 Sects, Vadagalai & Thengalai? 2. Can’t we bring commonality between these 2 sects?
Adiyen Swamy, Thank you for the wonderful session. I have one question regarding the concept of "leela" or divine play: If God created the world as his Leela, then souls would suffer according to their karma, being trapped in the cycle of births and deaths. However, if God had not created the world in the first place, we would never undergo suffering like this now
Adiyen would give a short reply and request swami to take up this question in the next session. Samsara is not a world where jeevas are kept to torment them. Samsara is created because Jeevas have always been vimukha to bhagwan. It’s not jeevas have been kept in Samsara but Samsara have evolved to accommodate the jeevas vimukha to Bhagwan. It’s not that Bhagwan created this anadi samsara. Since anaadi kaala, jeeva has been vimukha to bhagwan, so, samsara is created for them to enjoy the fruits of their desires and cultivate them to the right path. He wants the jeevas to be abhimukha to him, so he is trying to liquidate the mindset of the jeevatma.
Fully agree with you. Hinduism is just an umbrekla word. I thhink we must move away using h8nduism to denote our beluefs and stress on sanathana dharma.
In the outro you stated that your English may not be good. You are being modest. Trust me, your English is good, very good. Even better than many college graduates.
Few Questions 1. Why should anyone believe in Veda ? 2. How to differentiate between Vedas and Quran/Bible/ Jaina Granthas etc ? 3. What is the diff between Srutis, Smritis and Agamas ? 4. What is the position of Vaidikas on people who do not follow any nigama or agama but their own pagan culture ? 5. If previous karmas give results and push us in present life, what caused the first karma ? 6. if vaikudam pugguvadu is mannavar vidhi, then why should we do bhakti or sharanaagati ?
1. Sanatanis don't want you to believe in Vedas. You read, study, analyze, and accept. Every Tiruppavai of Andal states just that. 4. They exist, just like anybody else.
Answer 3. Shruti is Vedas(including Upanishads and Brahmsutra) Every Shruti is Valid and can't be refuted. But Smritis and Aagamas can be accepted or rejected. Shurti needs no approval of any other text Smritis and Aagamas need approval of Shruti. All Smritis, Aagamas based on Vedas are acceptable, else unacceptable.
vedas tell that we are in cycle of birth and death because of karma while all other religion tells we have only one birth and we have no karma but the problem with this is then why some people born as rich some poor why some are struggling some people are born with Mental retardation why some people die soon For 5th question the answers in there is no first karma just like parmatma is eternal jeevatma is also eternal (god did not create jeevatma) there is always karma attached with us. 6th question without doing bhakthi or sharanaagati you cannot go to vaikuntam but every jeevatma nature is to attract with god atleast once in a lakh of birth. the point here is why to waste time taking lakhs of birth and suffer in this world. So do sharanaagati now itself
Adiyen, Can you please create playlist for this and how can I contact you? Need to speak about something which is bothering me for a while 🙏🏻 Srimate Ramanujaya namaha 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Problem is there is more freedom in Sanathana, thats why we are shy to wear all these. and also it was due to centuries of Colonial and invasions. So, people like u should initiate and make us learn things which are unknown or lost in last 2 generations.
This question was put to Swami Vivekananda - Q) Who can be considered as a Hindu or in today's terms - Sanatani? Swamiji's reply - Those who consider and accept the Vedas, Upanishads as sacred and accept them as their holy texts, can be considered as a Hindu or Sanatani alone. If jains and Buddhists want to be identified as non-Hindu, why is anyone so interested in labelling them as part of Sanathana Dharma?. Will you consider Kamala Hassan as an Iyengar?. Nope, though he might be by birth a brahmin, the way he abuses Sanathana dharma, he cannot be considered as an Iyengar or even a Hindu. The same logic applies to Jains and Buddhists.
@@krsnakesavadasa145 Please educate yourself about Swami Vivekananda before writing nonsense comments. If you want to stick to your narrow minded Tamil identity, so be it. No hope for you.
Both Budda & Mahavira drew their thoughts from the vedas. Their negating it was due to some of the unexplained, unacceptabke practices like giving bali(sacrificing animals) to appease gods etc. The SHOONYA philosiphy of buddhists was after Buddha's nirvana. It is said that vasudeva's elder brother's son followed Jainism and urged the Lord to follow his path, which Shri Krishna declined saying he has a different purpose. SANATANA DHARMA can be explained as a 3 step approach. 1. PHILOSOPHY -OUR BELIEFS, FAITH. FOR US IT'S THE VEDAS,AND VEDANTPRINCIPLES - THE SMRITIS PRACTICES - AS LAID BY SOCIETY, SCRIPTURES All 'religions'differ in practicrs but the philosophy and Principlrs are universal truyh.
A request Swami, I would like to read Mahabharata line by line but do not know sanskrit , so could you please suggest authentic tamil translation work? Thank you.
Jai Shriman Narayana Swami I have one question related to Vyuha Siddhant of Shriman Narayana. Is Trimurti Vishnu Ksheerbaddhi Nathan or a different roopa of Bhagavan. What I mean is that we have Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in Trimurti. The Vishnu in Trimurti is Ksheerbaddhi Nathan or a different roopa of Bhagavan
This question feels like Abrahmic Well, the answer is that Naaraayana is ultimate lord of this universe worshipped by everyone from subtle to gross. First one to worship him is definitely his consort Mahalakshmi and among Jeevas Brahmaaji is first of his great devotees because all other beings were formed by him only.
I am a Vishnu devotee/Kshatriya living in Bangalore but I don't know which sampradaya to choose (Dvaita, Advaita, VishistAdvaita). I saw your video on the differences between these 3 things but it's still not clear which to choose. Also, I worship other gods like Ganesha, Subramanya, and Raghavendra Swami. I don't know if Vishnu or Shiva should be supreme - I am just happy with having Vishnu as my primary God for prayer. What should I do?
You must go for Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya, since it's the oldest Sampradaya propagated from Sri Lakshmi thaayar/mother herself. Feel free to ask your doubts as well. Look for the tenets of the Sampradaya in your own language- Kannada/Telugu or even English videos by this channel or any guru( Sri Chinna Jeeyar swamy for instance). Then, contact the Swarakalpam team through the contact in their description, they will guide you.
Swami the word "Hindustan " is mentioned in brihaspati agama and Brhan narayana purana Brihaspati agama says : Himalayam samarabhya yavadindu Sarovaram | TaM devanirmitam desha HindhusthAnam prachakshate || Which means: "Starting from Himalaya upto indu Water (indian Ocean) is this god Created country Hindustan " Brhan naradiya purana says : Himalayam samarabhya yavat bindusarovaram Hindusthanamiti qyatan hi antaraksha-rayogatah Which means : "The country between Himalayas and Bindu Sarovar (Cape Commorin Sea) is Hindusthan derived by combining the first letter 'Hi' of Himalayas and the last compound letter 'ndu' of the word Bindu."
What these philosophies can do with our daily life? These are some complex one which can't be understood by common people. It is for seekers of gods & sanyasins can understand. The said brahma, sentients etc etc are not experienced by ordinary people. Is there life after death? Whether we had any forms or life previously?
Namaskaram, I have heard the whole discussion. These kind of talks are very much needed in this time in our country, but I need to tell you are missing the whole point. If I may can I participate in the discussion .
@@Bhakthamrutham Firstly Dvaita, Advaita, and Vishishtadvaita are not philosophies, they are the three states of being of one single continuum. Depending on the maturity of life energies of the person , he experiences different states.
@@Bhakthamrutham Yes, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Vaasishta, Astavakra geeta, Nirvana shatakam. I am an Architecture student and researching on Indian temple Architecture ( Agamas) and also I am studying the life stories of liberated being in our culture , keenly observed the Vaishnava , shaiva , shakta sampradayas . In all the sampradayas the ultimate goal is Liberation from the cycle of birth and death, each sampradaya employed / derive their paths to ultimate union of advaita ( dissolution of individual self to Universal consciousness). As long as there is duality, there is experiencer and experienced. So by observing all this I logically arrived here.
Texts like Bhagvad Gita have hundreds of commentaries with numerous interpretations. If you read the commentaries of Acharyas like Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya, etc you will find that they never claimed their respective sampradayas to be 'states of mind'. Also, in both Ramanuja sampradaya and Madhva sampradaya, the concept of absolute oneness with Brahmam is not agreed upon. Before you claim, 'In all sampradayas....' study specific texts written by the respective Acharyas to understand those sampradayas.
Swami : One simple question Shankara came in 7th century.. Ramanuja came in 11th century Madhva came in 12th century What Sampradaya people follow before these Acharya ? Santana dharma is much older than Sampradaya … Vedic period had which Sampradaya ?
There have been differences of opinion even among the Rishis. You can find this in the Brahmasutras where Vedavyas mentions the opinions of other rishis and refutes them. As mentioned in the video itself, there were Acharyas prior to Ramanujacharya who practised and preached Vishishtadvaita. So, our belief is that, Vishishtadvaita is also anaadi
Their emphasis is less on study and more on preaching and generating revenues through book-Sellings. Most of the people are preachers. And this turns most of them to very sectarian, often criticizing every second philosophy, without their proper understanding. It seems focus is on creating warriors and expansion of the sanstha and less on quality

I am Very lucky to Get a Professor and Guru Like Dr. Manish Sir , I am feeling happy to see him on UA-cam to Spreading Actual Knowledge of Dharma
I am a Shaivite - Iyer. I have no issues in going to temples of any denomination!!
That's the whole point. No one should force you to go or force you not to go...
@@Bhakthamrutham Respecting all approaches (which I do ) and trying to understand the reasons are mutually exclusive! The "why" is missing !!!
Commendable effort at explaining such controversial topics! Very relevant too when a political party puts the onus on "hindu unity".

Jai srimannarayana .. adiyen ..! Fabulous video , many things got clarified in this video . We request more videos in English
Very interesting questions & answers. Thank you for posting!

Please make short length videos with various titles like 30,20,15,10, minutes are so . I think then only discussions may reach out to the people who are interested. 🙏
Im an American and first got into Ramana Maharshi in 2011 and had the non dual realization experience several time. Then got into Swami Sarvapriyananda talks and learned a lot more. Now im getting into Bhakti and Ramanuja is making more sense than Shankarcharya
Like i never agreed that the world is unreal. Which is a reason i leaned toward Kashmir Shaivism as i learned more about it and traditional Advaita.
very relevant topic.. dhanyosmi
very informative, please create more english videos on our true culture, what's written in our scripts.
This is a beautiful talk! Kindly make more such podcast.🙏 Also more about the three major schools of thought.
We have already made a podcast about three schools - dvaita , advaita and vishishtadvaita. Kindly see the latest video of our channel.

Dashom Swami ❤❤
Namaskaram Swamin! Excellent questions and wounderful ansawes. Please advise or do something to our Vishnavas not to fight within Vaishnavas saying Vadakali and Thenkali. Is it really required? why should we be divided among us? Feel very sad when hear the fight amoung us. Swamy, please do talk each time for unity among us. Dasan Srinivasan
Thank you sir's
Excellent discussion ❤❤ but please make it on line thereby everybody can ask their doubts
Namaskar Swami. Very nice video. It would nice if you can explain about Sri Sampradaya, Its practices and siddanta.

So happy happy swamy

It was a pleasure to listen to this question answer session and my first experience with this channel was the english podcast with Keshava Ramanuja Das Swami.
Swami his got real gist of vedas. He is very balance minded, cool and compassionate. Maybe Sankara and Ramanuja are like this
JAI SHREE RADHE 🙏🙏🙏
Thankyou Swamiji for the interesting analysis.
PURPOSE OF RELIGION & HUMAN BIRTH: A Hindu viewpoint:
Former is temporary and latter is permanent (Body also includes mind)
5. There are two worlds , one is permanent spiritual world and the other temporary material world , which is made up of the five material elements :
Earth, Fire, Water , Ether and air.
6. Easy way to understand the two worlds is the figure "8"
Upper circle is spiritual world and lower is material.
But this
enjoyment is not free and it comes with suffering.
If we use the
senses to please the Lord continuously ( UPAYOG) , it is considered as a 'surrendering atma' or truly serving .
All other relationships are only for one birth.
.11. THERE ARE 3 PATHS OR OPTIONS FOR THE ATMA:
If the person is only religious , and performs rituals ( karma-marg) to please gods/godesses , which is also very difficult , the result will be "Swarg lok" which is for a temporary period .
By surrendering to such a saintly person, and by serving him through body, mind and wealth as much as possible, internal purification of the consciousness takes place and makes one eligible to be promoted to the permanent spiritual world, never to return to the temporary material world, where there is more
of suffering birth after birth and happiness also is reducing and temporary from people and things.

Hi Swamy - thank you for the introduction session on Sanathana Dharma and Sampradayas - lot of learning personally 🙏
My question: the main reason for conversion many say is Caste system in India - can you pls talk about it and how we can bring all castes and varnas together and include them in Sanathana fold, what sampradaya they should follow? Very few know their family sampradaya

It is good that the podcast on Srvishnava is in English. Though I, my family & my ancestors belong to Srivaishnavaism (Ayangar / Acharya )by birth, having moved to Andhra Pradesh, we cannot understand Tamil.
I have some Questions:
1. Why should there be in 2 Sects, Vadagalai & Thengalai?
2. Can’t we bring commonality between these 2 sects?
Swami, I'm the only Sri Vaishnava in my family it is difficult only to workship Srimanarayana leaving other devatas. Can you explain on this???
Sviya Aradhana Sarva Adarana❤

Yeah, I as an American can understand all of them perfectly. Accents are not too strong
Few Questions
Answer 3.
Shruti is Vedas(including Upanishads and Brahmsutra)
Every Shruti is Valid and can't be refuted.
But Smritis and Aagamas can be accepted or rejected.
Shurti needs no approval of any other text
Smritis and Aagamas need approval of Shruti.
All Smritis, Aagamas based on Vedas are acceptable, else unacceptable.
vedas tell that we are in cycle of birth and death because of karma while all other religion tells we have only one birth and we have no karma but the problem with this is then why some people born as rich some poor why some are struggling some people are born with Mental retardation why some people die soon
For 5th question the answers in there is no first karma just like parmatma is eternal jeevatma is also eternal (god did not create jeevatma) there is always karma attached with us.
6th question without doing bhakthi or sharanaagati you cannot go to vaikuntam but every jeevatma nature is to attract with god atleast once in a lakh of birth. the point here is why to waste time taking lakhs of birth and suffer in this world. So do sharanaagati now itself

Problem is there is more freedom in Sanathana, thats why we are shy to wear all these. and also it was due to centuries of Colonial and invasions. So, people like u should initiate and make us learn things which are unknown or lost in last 2 generations.
This question was put to Swami Vivekananda -
Q) Who can be considered as a Hindu or in today's terms - Sanatani?
What is the difference between iyengers and iyers ??
What is the authority of Vivekananda or whoever it might be? Who is called the authority?
Astika Dharma = Hinduism
Nastika = Jaina, Buddhist
Other Religion = Non Dharmic
FOR US IT'S THE VEDAS,AND VEDANTPRINCIPLES - THE SMRITIS
PRACTICES - AS LAID BY SOCIETY, SCRIPTURES
All 'religions'differ in practicrs but the philosophy and Principlrs are universal truyh.
A request Swami, I would like to read Mahabharata line by line but do not know sanskrit , so could you please suggest authentic tamil translation work? Thank you.
Simple question the difference between human beings are categorised by birth or by activity.??

Jai Shriman Narayana Swami
I have one question related to Vyuha Siddhant of Shriman Narayana.
Seems to be a different roopa
Who was a first Believer of Lord Narayan or Bishnu?
This question feels like Abrahmic
Well, the answer is that Naaraayana is ultimate lord of this universe worshipped by everyone from subtle to gross.
28:00 😂 good advice for "Hindus" about the Indian Politics of today.
Swami the word "Hindustan " is mentioned in brihaspati agama and Brhan narayana purana
Brihaspati agama says :
Himalayam samarabhya yavadindu
Sarovaram |
TaM devanirmitam desha
HindhusthAnam prachakshate ||
Which means:
"Starting from Himalaya upto indu
Water (indian Ocean) is this god
Created country Hindustan "
Brhan naradiya purana says :
Himalayam samarabhya yavat bindusarovaram
Hindusthanamiti qyatan hi antaraksha-rayogatah
Which means :
"The country between Himalayas and Bindu Sarovar (Cape Commorin Sea) is Hindusthan derived by combining the first letter 'Hi' of Himalayas and the last compound letter 'ndu' of the word Bindu."
What these philosophies can do with our daily life? These are some complex one which can't be understood by common people. It is for seekers of gods & sanyasins can understand. The said brahma, sentients etc etc are not experienced by ordinary people. Is there life after death? Whether we had any forms or life previously?
What is the name androopa of God in sanatana dharma hinduism
Namaskaram, I have heard the whole discussion. These kind of talks are very much needed in this time in our country, but I need to tell you are missing the whole point. If I may can I participate in the discussion .
Namaskaram. First, you can tell your point here...
@@Bhakthamrutham Firstly Dvaita, Advaita, and Vishishtadvaita are not philosophies, they are the three states of being of one single continuum. Depending on the maturity of life energies of the person , he experiences different states.
We would humbly ask you if you have gone through the texts of any of the aforementioned sampradayas. Also, what made you come to this conclusion?
Swami : One simple question
Shankara came in 7th century..
Ramanuja came in 11th century
Madhva came in 12th century
What Sampradaya people follow before these Acharya ? Santana dharma is much older than Sampradaya … Vedic period had which Sampradaya ?
There have been differences of opinion even among the Rishis. You can find this in the Brahmasutras where Vedavyas mentions the opinions of other rishis and refutes them.
As mentioned in the video itself, there were Acharyas prior to Ramanujacharya who practised and preached Vishishtadvaita. So, our belief is that, Vishishtadvaita is also anaadi
51:05 that's what ISKCON is doing.
Study-study-study then preach-preach-preach.
