You make Alonzo seem like the God of pirates. (Applause)
Alonzo was said to be able to take an armada of ships [ranging from either 7 - 10 to even 13] and was said to be able to take out half the British crews ship no matter what amount by himself and at times only got hit once or simply came out unscathed I wouldn't be surprised if he was the most bestest assassin [he has the mark on one of the drawn pictures suggesting he was one some point of his life] out of all others maybe not psychically but surely in naval combat.
black hole, Indeed, just imagine what experienced captain he is. Remember, how many missions there are with "Get no damage" full synchrinisation, which means Alonzo's ship in reallity didn't get any damage in naval combat with frigates and ships of the line. Even Edward Kenway and Shay Cormac were not that good.

This game's bad points is our ships are always smaller than the enemy's
to make it not an easy to play :)

FC.Khiêm there's another bad points in this game: most big ships' (from frigate to ship of the line) name identified them wrong. Like Like an enemy's ship type is frigate but it's really a man o' war.

Sam Hussey, This is not POTC, this is Assassin's Creed and Black Pearl and Dutchman can not be logically tied in to the lore of the universe. Simply to say: these are two deffirent worlds.

the queen Anne's revenge is very powerful!
Stalwart has an enormous defense level, even Anne's attack is not enough. you need to use 30% enemy's HP perk to defeat it

I hate the frigates because some of the broadside cannon balls doesn't hit the ship but hit the water, come the think of it, it kinda wastes ammo if Ubisoft implemented the the limit ammo for the broadside cannons like they did on Assassin's Creed 3 and 4...
very late comment but the reason for putting so many cannons on a ship was because of how incredibly inaccurate they were, the absolute wall of cannons on frigates and whatnot were to make sure at least some of the cannonballs hit

Hey Alex, what perks do you think are best for taking on the stalwart. I keep using the emperor but keep failing. Any advice?
please see perks in description. you need to equip perk that deals 30% of HP damage over a time - this is the key perk.
Also using the perk that reduce speed of the cannonballs

I've successfully defeated all super ships. and I have no shame admitting that I used a fully upgraded emperor of the seas for all of them. though I spent half the game saving money not buying any ship and staying with the wanderer.

I beated every single supership but I can't beat this one it's hard looks like I have to buy the Queen's Ana's revenge to defeat this ship or I will make money to get a ship of line
Canons active perk is important - reduce 30% of enemy HP. With this perk you can beat Stalwart with any ship with Power 5 or 6. Don't need Revenge. just you need to survive 2 reloads of your perk

Why player couldn't defeat the Stalwart in the last chapter, but they could defeat it in free roam?
Because the stalwart in the mission has like a few hundred thousand or possibly even a million but deals less but still massive damage. The one in free roam one hit kills you but is way less tougher. Theoritically, you can destroy the stalwart in the mission but that requires you to have to get the flaming shot, upgrade to max then use it at as soon as you can. Like, as soon as it's cooldown finish or the option shows itself, press it then land a hit. Rinse and repeat. Once you deplete the stalwart's health, the timer above will not matter as it immediately finishes the fight.

that ship costs a lot of money, but you can complete this mission with other ships - just remember about perk that do 30% damage of HP (see description)

how to upgrade weapons?
select ship from ship menu. there is Speed, Power and Defense at the bottom. Click on Power and try to upgrade it's level - you will need wood resources as I remember.
