Thx my friend. Really learned a lot. I appreciate it
Lol, your striker is a common, cheap and readily available carbide tool sharpener. It has been used for years as a duel purpose outdoor tool. I have picked them up at Home Depot, Lowes and online for less than $10.
It's the first time I have seen one. I am definitely picking up a few more.
@@BurningRiverBushcraft they are handy to touch up axes and machetes in the field (original purpose) and is the reason I had a couple.
Video starts at 8:37.
A 90 degree carbide striker can also be used to touch up your knife as well in an emergency, as well as breaking glass. That striker alone is genius and should be a standard for all ferro rods. Mine showed up today, will be grabbing more
I just realized that the other day when looking at knife sharpeners online, its almost like they used the same knife sharpner for a striker.
Speedy sharp is the striker. Knife sharpener I had one but got a better sharpener now I can’t find it after seeing these videos 🤦♂️ and of coarse they have tripled in price because I now want it back 😂 as soon as I buy a new one I’m sure I’ll find my old one
It will sharpen a knife to.👍🔥
To is short for towards.
Too means also.
Good review of your ferro rod and striker . Not into the bushcraft scenario and I suggest individuals actually use a knife which has a sharp spine for several days . They will dull that sharp spine .
Long time hunter who spends a Lot of time outdoors and instructing. Thanks, and all the best from AK.
All fero rods come with a protective coating.
Nice review on this product!! I recently picked one up and excited to start playing with it! I am definitely going to get a second one as a spare/emergency for a pack. This is the first video I have seen with Creek Stewart's Feuerstock product, unless I haven't looked good ha!!
Good I have the market cornered
Nice video Jamie 👍. I especially like the red color. I also use a speedy sharp as a striker. I believe I got the idea from waypoint.
I am out of the speedy sharp loop. I am not surprised if Waypoint started that, He's very innovative.
The striker will make your ferro rod deplete sooner.
This is a nice setup. The striker is actually a knife sharpener. I use the same thing for my ferro rod. I really like the idea of a brightly colored rod. I’m going to check it out. Thanks for sharing.
the striker looks just like a speedy sharp sharpener
I was unfamiliar with that product. Thanks
You’re welcome. Dual use is good 😊👍
exact. i baught that exact sharpener,,,,,but hey i never tried that way
weather resistant until the first time you use it
It will be interesting how long the coating last and how it compares to non coating
1 strike takes the coating off.
@@BurningRiverBushcraft I meant in storage and how the two rods would compare
@@HarshmanHills I see. Any Rod brand would last indefinitely. When the coating is worn off they both will corrode. Wear on the coating is much more noticeable with the red coating so you can address it.
