Bro, no coating in the world will last longer than one year by itself, being beaten by heat, salt, acids and stuff. I use Gyeon and my coated cars still bead water like day one, just washing them correctly every once a month.

If it has a hat much better durability than the others, I don’t see why any of them would be necessary.
I've never seen any videos suggesting to do any of that prior to a ceramic coating, and I would steer clear of anyone that does. Sealants are primarily used as toppers when you do your maintenance washes.
Jason, do you have any advice on how to seel this service to people with new cars? I find it challenging because most people think they don't need it due to the car being new. Than you so much for making us better detailers!
it's important not to "sell" people on ceramic coatings or convince them that they need it. It's crucial to deliver the benefits of ceramic coatings and let the customer decide if it's a value to them. The decision to apply a ceramic coating should be based on the customer's needs and preferences. When discussing ceramic coatings with customers, it's important to educate them about the product and its benefits. Explain how ceramic coatings work and how they can help protect their vehicle's paint. Additionally, it's important to discuss the cost of the coating and any maintenance requirements.

This is a great video, but I do think you should include your own observations as well. I understand your sentiment, but observations by definition are unbiased. Observing and recording what you observe is, after all, part of the scientific method. You describing what is happening on the video and pointing out which is performing better is not bias. It's just you pointing out what is going on. Also, as people who deal with this stuff day in and day out, you are the subject matter experts and your subscribers are most likely watching this for guidance AND opinion, even if those opinions allow for bias. People who aren't as familiar with ceramic and other coatings will undoubtfully benefit from it. Anyhow, just my thoughts.
Horizontal panels sure do take a beating. Even in my climate they need topped every wash with something that can reject minerals and add extra UV protection 🧴
Believe me it does. I use Gyeon and this results are far from being real. Look how its fullnof waterspots on top, a good detailer take care of em and coatings will be hydrophobic again.
Thanks for the Video and all the effort, wondering if you have ever tested the "Roar Coating" also would like to see the durability as its pretty expensive one ~500$ and what about CarPro Professional and Finest ?
Applying a ceramic coating can provide several benefits, regardless of the type of paint on your vehicle. The gloss, slickness and ease of maintenance is what most people get coatings for. My favorite benefit from a coating is the glow. Proper paint correction and coating gives a vehicle just an amazing glow that I absolutely love, but I'm weird. Most people just do not care if their paint is in the best condition possible, therefore it would not be worth it to get the car ceramic coated.
Lmao your question is your answer bro of course ceramic is a sacrificial layer meaning it will prolong the life of your clear coat and paint in a crazy way
So the point of this video is showing the water behaviour of certain coatings 6 months AFTER their last 'maintenance wash'. Why did you not use a fallout remover or water spot remover. Proving water behaviour only shows water behaviour on a coating. Show the viewers the water spotting on the coatings, show us the marring and quality of the paintwork one year on. Why have you not used the intended / supplied manufactures 'maintenance products' whether it be quick detailers or mentioned above water spot removers, fallout removers or even defining what shampoo/soap was used? Water behaviour does not indicate 'quality' merely the coatings ability to release contamination from a washmitt. This video looks like a vendetta against a brand you used to endorse.
Simple, I wanted to see what it looked like without doing the maintenance. Remember this is a real world test. I have another video coming up of before and after decon. Plus if I did the toppers you would just see the topper working and not know what the coating looks like under it. Just here to show my results, I recommend you also do your own testing to see what works for you best.
@@ChicagoAutoPros thanks for showing us this. Was the shampoo used during the wash in this video just a standard pH neutral? If I remember correctly the first tests had some commentary over the video, I miss that so I don't have to be fully focused on the video
Igl looks good. Gyeon didn't hold that well I was surprised
Believe me it does. I use Gyeon and this results are far from being real. Look how its fullnof waterspots on top, a good detailer take care of em and coatings will be hydrophobic again.
Any chance you can test Rocklear coating? They claim they are much stronger than ceramic and requires much less maintenance.
😂
Thanks for the Video and all the effort, wondering if you have ever tested the "Roar Coating" also would like to see the durability as its pretty expensive one ~500$ and what about CarPro Professional and Finest ?
Didnt want to be part of the test
They aren’t accredited for Carpro finest
is it even worth doing a ceramic coat on soft thin paint like hondas?
Applying a ceramic coating can provide several benefits, regardless of the type of paint on your vehicle. The gloss, slickness and ease of maintenance is what most people get coatings for. My favorite benefit from a coating is the glow. Proper paint correction and coating gives a vehicle just an amazing glow that I absolutely love, but I'm weird. Most people just do not care if their paint is in the best condition possible, therefore it would not be worth it to get the car ceramic coated.
@Chicago Auto Pros would you possibly reccomend getting ppf instead of ceramic coating on softer paints?
@@kaplandg 100% PPF is going to give way more benefits.
Lmao your question is your answer bro of course ceramic is a sacrificial layer meaning it will prolong the life of your clear coat and paint in a crazy way
Idk why for some reason system x coating looked phoney to me but they are actually decent nice
Need to get some titan vulcan tx155 in your life
Is that the new rain dance?
Really old video, but could it just be these coatings are all just "clogged" with contamination?
how many bullet holes?
To me angelwax performed the best
Seems they all work after one year lol!
How come you did not use angelwax Genesis. That is their top dog I thought
I used what the manufacturer wanted in the test.
it's Genesis
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO which one should I buy/use if I am going to do it myself??????????????????????????????
Did I miss it? which one was the best???
Watch for yourself and decide.
Angelwax
So I didn’t you tell us which one you like the best??🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
how is exofrma graphene coating
whos winning.
982 4.0 best vfm for me, agree 992 although lovely couldn’t be so enjoyed by me because of the ££££. BTW the ladies in your video were a bit freaky 😊
👀
We are really curious to see the post-decon video you mentioned and how the vehicle turned out after a more alkaline or lower acidic shampoo, iron decon, and a light clay mitt was used to deep clean and “unclog” the coating. Thank you guys! Also great job with the Creator Summit 🤙🏼
Thomas, do you feel better now that you got that all out of your system?
@@zonapainter i bet he does lmao
Thomas who hurt you?
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Why waste water
lmao 2 minutes of water, ok man
Lack of maintenance and bad wash cause this. Theses coating shouldn't react so bas as they did in the video. Something is wrong with technic, chemical and maintenance. My ceramic is one year old and beat/sheat like day 1.
Maintence was performed at 2 month and 6 month mark. It's also washed every two weeks. Thank you for gracing us with all of your ceramic coating knowledge and expertise.
@@ChicagoAutoPros Sometimes is still wrong anyway.
Oh you're welcome. I do ceramic coating for living so ;)
@@Nakinakpgm I understand that lack of maintenance and poor washing habits could lead to coating failure, but in this particular case, that is not the issue. Your comment may come off as condescending and presumptuous. I do not have knowledge of your specific car, coating, climate, or maintenance routine. It is possible that your coating could still look brand new. It is important to keep an open mind and recognize that different variables can affect coatings differently for different people.
@@ChicagoAutoPros Actually , I have an open mind. The coating should last way way longer than 1 year and you know it. Some look terrible and already dead. So tell me that's normal and why ...
@@Nakinakpgm it’s normal bc the coating is clogged from rain minerals etc , you need to hit it with an acid water remover to burn off the remaining minerals , top it and it’ll look great again
AngelWax and IGL the standouts for me. Feynlab and Veros holding up well, too. Modesta though 🫠
Gtechnics and thats it . 🥸
GTechniq (makes me feel great about choosing this for my personal vehicle)
IGL
