I had played this at many a graduation when I was a bamdsman (5546, Trombone, 1979-81) stationed at Parris Island. This is the first time I have heard the lyrics! A fantastic presentation, Ma'am.😊
My mother, Clara Harpe Johnstone, was a member of the USMCWR Band. Hearing the music that they used as their theme is very emotional to me, especially played by the Marine Band itself!
Although I was already retired my husband, had this played when they escorted me to my seat! Such a beautiful piece and memory!

Yes! So well done.
My Grandma, Ruth Gerard (Hutchinson), was MCWR in WW2. She always referred to herself as a proud BAM.
