The Seven Mountain Mandate and Its Evangelical Roots
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- The roots of the "NAR" Seven Mountain Mandate were in the ministries of Loren Cunningham, Bill Bright, and Francis Schaeffer in the 1970s. Bright and Schaeffer were Presbyterians, which means that their theology was Reformed. Both were influenced by Christian Reconstructionism and the teaching of the Reformed theology R. J. Rushdoony. NAR critics have left out crucial information that could shed a lot of light on the subject.

And absolutely things like voting are playing a huge role in evangelism. Because, as it says in the Psalms, When the Righteous rule, the nation is blessed. So, we are making a huge impact when we vote for Righteous leaders.
@linesandlines612 Those who put their faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins and who are made righteous through his blood. Also those who make Godly decisions that benefit a nation such as the overturning of Roe V Wade, the abolishing of slavery during Lincolns Presidency. Making decisions that are in accord with the Bible.
Another Man who has made a great impact on the culture and has even talked with world leaders about the Gospel is Arthur Blessit. The man who carried a cross to all parts of the world. They made a documentary about him a few years ago. Great video Bro Rod. Appreciate all you do
He is a wonderful Evangelist,I hope he is still with us.
Rod, this is a wonderful teaching, but remember, the one in the middle is a Methodist.
@@johnmoore3521 He is. In his 80s and still going strong
This is so interesting, Rod. I was just wondering if this was connected to Doug Wilson, when you mentioned him! I know of him through classical homeschooling book, and then UA-cam.
I am so thankful to Remnant Radio for mentioning you on their show. Your channel is an answer to prayers!
I don't watch RR much. When did they mention me?
Hmm, maybe I heard it a couple months ago, possibly when I first watched them, but I will have to try to figure out what show it was. I am curious. Btw, it was something like “I love that guy” or “he’s a good guy” and maybe referring to you as a word of faith apologist. I am going to get back to you.
The historical perspective woven into the current scene really gives the whole picture. These are very, very valuable reportings!!
So glad to hear Rod's optimistic Pre Mil views instead of the usual pessimistic Darbyite, doom and gloom "we loose down here" John Mac Arthur escapist mentality!
Ironic that both MacArthur and Hanegraaff both ended up contradicting their own teachings.
This will be interesting. I love the concept and I have seen it working and it already working. In our ministry it is already working for sure, glory to Jesus our KING who rules over all The Kingdoms of The World!! Blessing my friend. From Malta xxx
I was in ywam for 3 years, and the ministry founder, Loren Cunningham, was one if the main early voices for this concept.
Needless to say, if you have familiarity with YWAM, they're anything but controling on how they implement vision and values. It doesnt resemble theonomy or any centralized theocratic vision at *all* . Its a model for voluntary participation of God's people in the world. Its Holy Spirit guided, but is uncoerced, organic and grass roots.
Its just normal people changing the world around them in whatever areba of life they exoress excellence in to the Glory of God.
I'm not saying this to argue but to sinply say, this is a GOOD and loving thing if expressed in the spirit it was popularly received.
It feeks like a new generation of dominionists aren't so volunteeristic about it.
Which take do you favor?
Nice how is Malta?
Thanks for the great video 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much for this! I believe this is one area that is quite misunderstood.
God's best to you all
an issue with dreams and visions and angelic visitations is that so many of them contradict the scripture, tune into Sin Roth's " its supernatural", it can be documented that many of the so called prophets, consistently spew false words, visions and visitations, Kat Kerr is one of many examples, this kind of thing turns off folks to the extra biblical manifestations
This guy won't want to hear it...7 mountain mandate is not biblical... it's the opposite of what is going to happen.
@@JacobSerwinski-fx3on If Jesus said 'Work while it's day for the night comes when no man can work' That means we have seasons in time where certain things are possible. Things that are possible to do in the 'day' will not be possible to do 'in the night.' What it means 'to work' will be different with each person.... WHILE IT'S DAY. The night is coming. The sun is setting. However, while it's day that which is possible is still possible. I dont think they present this 'mandate' as a Doctrinal Precept but rather a way of going beyond the walls of the Church & getting involved in the world around us while taking Christ with us. I see it as no more than that.
Another great defense!
Rod another great teaching thank you so so much
we will not influence the worldly systems, however that doesn't mean we shouldn't vote for the best biblical choice, or said another way the least bad
Not with that attitude 😂
NICE intro music. Do another music one
God will qualify the called for His will, all we need to do is look at the outcome years later.
Jim Jones comes to mind of a man who had a message he used to structure a movement.
I had no idea Edwards presaged a kind of premill/postmill fusion.
God bless!
It’s a good initiative.
Brilliant once again mate
What’s the difference between dominion theology and prederist theology ?
"Preterism" means "prior" or "past". It's the belief that many or most of the prophecies have already been fulfilled (partial preterism), or that all of them have (full preterism). Dominionism teaches that the church is to exercise dominion on Earth prior to the Lord's return, so it's futuristic as opposed to preterist.
@@JewandGreek So my mate who is a prederist believes that the world is going to be getting better not worse…. Is that correct ?
@@mick9371 Not necessarily. Preterism just says that prophecies in books like Daniel and Revelation have already been fulfilled to one extent or another. Jesus came in judgment in 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem. It's my understanding that many preterists hold to a dominist view but not all. It depends on whether your friend is a partial preterist or a full preterist.
@@JewandGreek thanks mate, much appreciated
OK Rod, ncie video, I basically agree with your conclusion. But... tell me about that guitar.... 😊😊
It's a La Patrie from Canada. I bought it around 2006 at a store here in Tulsa. La Patrie was bought out by Godin Guitars. I used to play solo guitar for restaurants, weddings, corporate events ... etc. I played a mix of classical, Spanish, pop, and bossa nova. I hardly ever play these days, but I might start that back up.
@@JewandGreek Tks for the quick reply (you should go to bed😊😊)....You play very nicely. I play, as well. One of mine is a Godin multiac nylon crossover. I used to have a pre-70 Gretsch Country Gent... (stolen out of a church, sadly) Also an old Goya classical which I picked up in a pawn shop in '70, it's got a great neck. I always enjoy your vids, we seem to be on the same page.
@@R.L.KRANESCHRADTT I've always been a night owl. I do my best work at night.
@@JewandGreek 😎 same here.
Strangely there are some calvinists/cessationists that have similar ideas. Joel Webbon has a video with the title 'theocracy is inevitable' and Jeff Durbin thinks Christians are supposed to take over everything, as most post millennialists do. I think John MacArthur would differ with these views so seems all calvinists don't think the same about these things. Oh and as i'm typing you mentioned Joel Webbon lol...
Johnny Enlow wrote a book on the The seven mountains!
The 7 spheres predates Enlows books by decades.
This is off tòpic…but Jesús is coming really soon.
Too much, man centered theology.
We or I can do nothing except remove the focus from Christ and place it on what we can do.
All we need do is look for the fruit of man centered movements and run, that or become followers of Calvin or Joseph Smith.
Look at our fruit, same sex marriage, drag queens in schools, cutting off the body parts of children… you sir indeed lack wisdom.
Jesus said we are in this world but not Of this world.... but 7 mountain mandate says get Christians back In the world so we can have a greater influence ECT... wrong...and as long as you keep a blind eye to the false prophets.. create room to say thus saith the Lord when it Never comes to pass.. you become Willfully blind. And I'm no cessationist..
Where exactly did Jesus say that? If you're referring to John 15-17, He wasn't saying that we shouldn't participate in the world's economy, but that we should love and obey Him and love one another. I'm not sure if you didn't watch the video, or if you just chose to ignore it. I showed how Dr. D. James Kennedy (nothing "NAR" about him) encouraged people to get engaged in impacting culture, and how Christian Reconstructionism (Reformed) believes that the church is to influence the world with the gospel and biblical principles. So this isn't just a 7 mountains thing. As for me turning a blind eye to false prophets, I do no such thing. I have addressed false prophesies in several videos. I don't define a false prophet as somebody who gives a wrong prophecy, but as somebody who leads people away from saving faith. But that doesn't mean that I don't believe in holding people accountable for their failed prophecies.
Let's look at what reformed theology is based on and consider today who claims to be reformed.
Martin Luther may have pinned the note on the door, yet he maintained the same sacrament as the church at Rome with the Eurcurist.
Calvin believed the congregation was taken up in the presence of Christ for the Lord's supper.
The cannons of Dort,in the 7th article, supports predestination.
Reformed theology will always go the way of the Reformed leader rather than the Word of God.
So, we should let ungodly people make the laws and teach our children? You lack wisdom sir.
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
The role of Prophets is not to predict if Elvis is still alive or who wins the election.
Clearly, the Prophets are for the edifying of the Body of Christ.
@@Judybhorne you lack biblical knowledge... the only time that these mountains will truly change is during Christ's millennial kingdom... until then Satan is the god of this world... this is not even meat... but milk... and your not even ready to digest the milk.... may you wake up and start to rightly divide the Word. Blessings in Jesus.
Terrible teaching. All kind of bold statements are made, without backing them up with Scripture. At best, Rod shares his own opinion in this video.
Certainly I have my opinions about how the church should go about impacting culture, but I offered a lot more than opinions in this video. It's a fact that the 7 mountains concept has its roots in the ministries of Loren Cunningham and Bill Bright from the 1970s. It's a fact that dominionism is also taught in the Reformed world. It's a fact that Francis Schaeffer and D. James Kennedy were Reformed, and were influenced by Rushdoony and other Reconstructionists. It's a fact that Reformed preachers like Jonathan Edwards held to a triumphant postmillennial view. None of that was my opinion. Even NAR critics will acknowledge those facts. The point of the video wasn't to prove anything with Scripture, but to establish that these views are held by charismatics, cessationists, Calvinists, and Arminians who hold to a number of eschatological views.
@@JewandGreek could all be true what you write. I'm not going to check it. But in any case, the entire video is besides the point. And the point is that the 7-mountain mandate (in one form or another or the other) is nowhere found in scripture. It is a man made doctrine.
