I rode a standard transmission 2018 NC750X, put 33,000 miles on it, and traded it for a 2024 DCT. The newer model (2021-24) are more like a lighter sport touring bike, and nothing says "take me off road". It's a fantastic bike with a fantastic transmission! Want to putter to work or around town? Start it up, standard mode is always the default, pop off the parking brake, hit D, and enjoy your ride. Change your mind and want to get frisky? Hit the mode button and sport mode, or just flick it into the M mode and shift for yourself. Ready to settle down? Hit the D mode, and the bike is doing the work again. Build your own mode with the user mode, you can even disable traction control (not on the fly, and when you turn the key off it defaults back to minimal TC). How the NC behaves is totally up to the rider!
The ONE BIG advantage I never, ever see mentioned in any DCT review EVER! In an emergency breaking situation, the DCT is always in the ride gear!

I got the manual and sub 60 mph it has great handling and great acceleration, 60+ is great commuting, great mpg, low vibrations etc.
If you want super high efficiency then you are really low in revs, sub 3k and your power is really low but comfy for chill rides with minimal engine breaking.
Ride it like a 125 by keeping it in 4.5-6k rpm and it turns into a different beast, nice power (sub 60mph), amazingly agile due to the centre of gravity, still get great mpg, and decent engine and general braking.
If your riding this bike in legal speed (75mph or less) this bike is great, good storage, reliability, minor offroading potential, great mpg even when being silly on the throttle. But I would say the manual makes it much easier to see this as two bikes in one by managing the rpm.
If you want to 2 up and accelerate hard at 70 without dropping to 4/5 then this isnt the bike for you, and even in those low gear your about the same as a car accelerating rather than a supersport bike.

It's all subjective. It depends on what you think fun is. Also your age has alot to do with your perspective as well.

I am typically a very safe rider and was very surprised. I’ve ridden mostly Hondas and this did not feel like a Honda.

50 in 5th gear is good ,almost 4k . your complaint i think is wind blowoff from the the giant truck and only 1 hand on the bar. at 5.16. another miss is the 270 firing order. on the gas by that truck blow back it is digging . that is torque. just understand the engine. gas and go.

I wanted to like this bike, just because of the clever, practical design, like inside storage, engine slanted low to the ground for better mass distribution.
But bike that is not fun doesn't suit my case.

I thought this bike would be the perfect motorcycle.
      750cc
      Comfortable
      No shifting
      Tons of storage
      Made by Honda
All of my dreams were killed the moment I got on. I’ve ridden many Hondas and this did not feel like one.

We have the option of manual bikes in Europe still. The brakes are not linked.

I rented this bike (non-dct) when I was in cyprus. IMO its the perfect bike to just see places. Super easy to ride, great gas mileage, and the storage is very convinient. Would I want it to be my only bike though? No way.

I felt the same way except I still don’t think the DCT is for me. I wanted it to be but I have a different riding style.

@@MidgetMoto thanks for this info, I’m just not sure why it’s not mentioned on the Honda website for the actual NC750x itself. I honestly don’t feel any braking from the front when I use only the rear brake pedal. That’s why I’m thinking this was skipped on the NC. On my son’s Honda PCX150 I can feel the linked brakes when you use only the rear you can also feel the front braking. Nothing on the NC 🤷🏻‍♂️
