lol I got most of what they said and I’m eight years younger than Sarah. I think what she said about her just not remembering celebrity names is right.
People born in 1982 are grouped in with Millennials, but so many of Katya's pop culture references are Gen X references (understandably). I think Katya is culturally a Gen Xer, so it was very curious when she said "ugh" after asking "what's the other one" (besides Boomer) and Trixie said Gen X. I wonder what that's about? It seems like Gen X gets left out of all these ridiculous social generation battles, and that seems like a good place to be.
Basically we're all the same, just figuring out how to navigate rapid technological advancement in an era of information overload. These social generation brackets are created by social scientists and marketers who are trying to generalize broad, sweeping behavioral patterns, or trying to sell something using demographics. I think we should stop putting so much emphasis on them. They are weird constructs. They don't matter.

That episode felt like the podcast was being colonized by a straight
I think there are two disconnects. 1. Trixie and Katya are drag queens, and they're used to calling everyone "she" regardless of gender. 2. Sarah identifying as a lesbian, but also nonbinary, is an easy place to trip up. We think of lesbians as women who are attracted to other women, and then attach she/her pronouns automatically. Of course, it's never right to misgender someone, and we all should go well out of our way to make sure that we honor how someone identifies, but I do think we still need to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when you've known someone to identify one way, and then that information gets updated. People are going to make mistakes. The difference is if those mistakes are malicious. I don't think they were here. I still hope it's a learning experience for all of us. I know that the second point is something that I myself need to work on. I don't think that immediately demonizing someone for a slip up is the way to do it. Education and kindness do go a long way.

I think being understanding with people adjusting to new identifiers is very important. And, while I don't think this was the case here because it seems like maybe both of them prefer they, they also are relatively accepting of she, I think no matter what someone's vernacular is (oh my brother? she's pissed) if there needs to be an adjustment for comforts sake, it should be acceptable to expect that change to be made.
Being AMAB but identifying as non-binary and only using they/them pronouns, most days I'm completely fine with people slipping up -malicious intent... But, there are also some days where everything about me feels wrong, and my body is wrong, and just nothing is right and being misgendered causes a bit more pain. It's not unreasonable to expect someone to make a minor tweak like this, even if being patient with someone learning.

Getting diagnosed late in life with an attention disorder is just the worst. I was diagnosed at 17 with ADD and I thought I was just dumb for my entire childhood and I wished I could have gotten help much earlier.

Okay listen y'all, yes this started off a little awkward and the energy was a bit weird at first, but by the end the conversation was flowing and everyone was having fun. It's clear by how much Trixie and Katya were laughing that they love Sarah. Sarah has anxiety and ADHD and that shit is difficult when you're filming with people, even if you already know them both, so I'm proud of Sarah for the way they pushed through.
I can't believe that over the span of about 4 entire episodes, yall have NOT ONCE been able to get all the cameras in focus. Keep it up. I live for it.

So delighted to hear Katya plug Duolingo. I started using it at the beginning of the covid pandemic, and I've kept it up because I love it so much. Even the free version is terrific. My favorite thing about Katya mentioning it is that I swear it was my admiration for all the languages Brian knows that spurred my interest in learning another one!
