    This is already surpassed Minecraft for me! It’s a legit forever game in my mind and it’s not even fully done ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

    Nameable bases is already in there, just open your altar, and then push R to rename it. Then it will say that name on the map.

    Asked them today in Discord regarding water. They've confirmed that it won't reach this year and unlikely will the following. The main reason is the performance nightmare that would be impossible to port for console. Tbh, I already expected it to be the case. Ice might be our closest to water aesthetic.

      the only chance is water in a small instanced area, as I suggested to them, like the shrine areas are unchangeable, so make the water unchangeable - at least we can go fishing!!!

      That makes me sad. I will remain hopeful that some day they'll figure it out. Even if the water only stays in it's own block and doesn't spread....

    they will not be able to compete with Minecraft unless they have built in mod support and have some kind of procedural generated areas (maps) with near endless maps w wide verity of biomes, multiple realms/dimensions (maps/worlds), endless procedural quest system. Then maybe, mind you the modding is going to have to be built in and simple with access to almost the entire api.

      The success of this game comes, in part, in not having procedural generated maps. The world feels and looks better than minecraft or valheim because it's "handcrafted". Mod support would be great, but I imagine it's not their priority right now. While not selling anywhere near as much as minecraft, this game sold really well. And if they keep pushing updates like this one, it can only get bigger and better for Keen.

      @@oblikua Totally agree. simple choice, multiple random proc gen maps, or one handcrafted (that they do alter with every update!)

      I do think that mod support will be good but that's definitely an "eventually". Maybe even after 1.0. While they are adding more biomes and map etc., Idk if they'll add a procedurally generated area. It's a interesting idea to have one part of it that is though.

    This is all cool but how can anyone even begin to compare this game to Minecraft a game based on permanent world shaping through terrain removal and additions where this game's world is static. Dig a hole, come back the whole has "regenerated". make a cave, come back it's closed up. What's the point, until they make world changes persistent they might as well have used the Unreal engine for this game.

      Except you can transform everything in your base to whatever you choose. Dig a giant cave, mine through the mountains like a mole...and in your base, it all stays put.

    Theyv already overshadowed minecraft.
    We have so many better things in enshrouded.

      I like it way more than Minecraft personally. If we ever get something like redstone it will be unbelievable. Idk if that's asking too much though. lol

    Water will NEVER happen in the open world, maybe in a small instanced area, but the tank to the system for the calcs is way too much for majority of pcs

      Not entirely true. Look up a game called Lay Of The Land and Teardown. Lay Of The Land perhaps being closer to Enshrouded in terms of game type. It is a Survival, RPG, Building, Open World Voxel Game. It is First Person instead of Third Person though being the biggest difference from Enshrouded. It is Developed by one guy and he already has Water pretty much working in his Game already. I believe he also built his Engine for the game as well. Could be wrong on that part though but Water certainly isn't impossible to achieve in an Open World Voxel Game. The performance also wasn't impacted all that much either. I think the video he made on that development he showed the Stats and Resource Usage. Although his style is more like Teardown in terms of appearance.

    Minecrap can wither and die for all I care. Never had the desire to play that trash.
    If we can't have rounded and/or angled building pieces I think people will deal with it.
    Hopefully, we are getting actual Animal Husbandry, because I really want to build a proper farm to go along with the crops.
    The NPC implementations sound REALLY cool. That's one thing it has needed bigtime.. Cities, villages, shops, taverns, factions, and quests to go with all of that is what it has been missing. It would make the world feel alive.
    It has the content, especially since the map is nowhere near finished.. now it needs some functionality. A true build mode would be a Chef's Kiss addition imo.

      people might be able to deal with no angled or rounded, but without the angles the game will never hit the top sellers. Ever play landmark? that had angled vox blocks 10 years ago. apparently it can be done but it will mess up their whole ui system?!
      and I disagree with cities towns - how many games have ever got that right? maybe only baldurs gate 3? I would rather have no towns/cities than have them filled with _wooden_ people (not that I have anything against wood)

      @@mrburn6119 What indication have you seen that angled pieces would mess up their UI?
      I believe I know what you mean by wooden. Carboard.. lifeless.. generic? Basically, as they are now, right?
      What indication have you seen that the NPC's would remain this way later down the road?
      We are quickly seeing the dev's respond to feedback and implement some additional life into our existing NPC's plus these other NPC's were also practically demanded by the community.
      It feels like a pretty safe bet that the dev's will breathe life into them, if that's what the community collectively decides they want.

      Lol! I'm not a big fan of it either but it is definitely the biggest survival game, no?
      Maybe eventually we'll get angle pieces. I haven't seen them totally rule it out.
      I believe that it Will be actual animal husbandry!
      I agree that this will definitely make the world more alive! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      I doubt they'd end up wooden. Current npc's in the world already walk around pretty well and this update they've figured out how to have them move around bases. I think it'll keep getting better.

      @@GamingwithKristi I think he might also be referring to the lack of any kind of interaction... or general dialogue between two NPC's etc.
      Personally, I am hoping for a Skyrim level of conversation and quests that can come from those interactions.
