  • In the Circle of Life segment, Midwest and Woodland Tribes like Yankton Sioux, Menominee and Objibwe share their perspectives on why cultural diversity and biodiversity are naturally interconnected. You will experience how through years of dedication and listening to their elders, the Menominee have created one of the most outstanding examples of sustainable forestry in the world. From Black Ash basket making to building sweat lodges, Circle of Life takes you to the lands of tribal artists, elders and land managers living sustainably with deep, healthy spiritual traditions tied to trees and forests.

This video is amazing and it honestly makes me mad I don't know more about trees around me here in Wisconsin. The public school system has failed me.

Same. It's failed because it reflects the culture. Which county? Books of interest are Midwest Foraging by Lisa M. Rose and Sacred Trees of the North: traditional and medicinal blessings by Robert Dale Rogers RH (AHG).

We've also failed ourselves for chasing happiness instead.

It hurts me that people who can but don't choose to build new instead of restoring what they have. Some could, at least at one time, buy adjacent homes next to them and raze them and restore those lots with trees. I know that's farfetched, but as inner cities die, it's my opinion it's not so farfetched as we may think. Inner city, aged populations, ready to sell. Some people are wealthy enough to buy an entire block. But instead...corporations like Blackrock do it and rebuild apts for Section 8. The question is raised then but what about them? I agree it is complicated. However, fixing any problem is but it's not resolved when a new problem is created.

There are smaller lake communities where homes are not being upgraded and my idea could work.
