    I just received the Konie FSD 'Gold' shocks and need to put them on. Now I wish I got the EVO's

      The Gold ones are still MUCH better than your OEM ones. :)

      Apparently the new EVO's are Gold now as well, no longer Red...

    Terrific information. Perhaps you can clarify this in another video. There is much discussion about the F53 Koni Evo 99 shock being adjustable. If adjustable, how are the shocks adjusted. If adjustable, what is the default setting when shipped to customers? This information would be very helpful for RVers who want to consider the upgrade to the Koni Evo 99 shocks.

      Thanks for the feedback! These shocks are actually not manually adjustable but instead incorporate the same self-adjusting FSD technology as the 8805-1018 and 8805-1019 shocks, just with a larger bore and different valve design which allows for more fine-tuning of low-speed control while still maintaining good ride quality. We did also just release a manually adjustable rear shock, part number SS88-1889, for the Sprinter 3500 2wd, dual rear-wheel chassis. We have a video which describes the adjustment process for those shocks.

    I have a 2022 Thor Hurricane 34J and my last trip in high winds and uneven roads through construction zones was a real white knuckles butt clincher! I just ordered a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer from you and I know this will help greatly with some of the issues we had, but I know it won't solve all my suspension ride issues on my Ford F53 chassis. I can't afford to these suspension upgrades all at once, but I was wondering in what order should I do these upgrades which will yield the best ride improvements. I was thinking that my next upgrade would be front Sumo Springs, followed by a SuperSteer rear Trac Bar, and then new shocks. Now I'm wondering if I should move the shock replacement up on this list? Thanks!

    I have Super Steer products on my 2023 Georgetown GT7 with 24K chassis. Good stuff! But don't buy the Kool Aid about the Koni shocks. I installed new "gold" Koni's all around my coach. Took them back off to verify, installed stock back onto coach. Did this twice to prove. The coach rides so much rougher with the Koni's that they came off the final time and will never be reinstalled. I don't know if the EVO Koni could be better, but if even stiffer that is the last thing I want......

    I went from a 1999 35ft Endeavor Ford V10 F53 to a 2016 Fleetwood Flair 29T Ford V10 F53 so much shorter but has the very same plowing feeling over frost heaves and bumpy roads, the dash shudders and drives me bat chit insane as it beats the crap out of the rig. I would think front and rear air bags along with these shocks (I'm guessing I don't need the EVO's?) new sway bars and a steering stabilizer would transform the ride to much better levels?

    Are we saying Koni did not improve their shock for 20 years? I owe them.

    I put the Koni FSD shocks on my F53 V10 prior to the EVO coming out. I’m considering adding quad shocks. My question is can I mix the EVO with the FSD if I decide to go with quad shocks?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer 11 місяців тому

      It’s our recommendation to add another “gold” FSD if you want “Quad shocks”. The spacing of the EVO is a concern when trying to put it on a quad set up. Hope that helps. 👍

    Question: are the EVO’s suitable for the 18K F53? I have Koni on my 2022 Winnebago Vista 29V, now with about 30,000 miles on the previously installed Koni.
    I’m thinking I’m good with what’s on there for now. Thoughts?

    What about a 1994 F53? We have a Coachmen Santara QB280 (GVW 25K) that could really use some help to smooth out our ride... (PS we are currently grounded due to a power steering pump failure.)

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer Рік тому

      Sorry to hear about your fuel pump issue! The new EVOs should work through the full range of F53 model years and GVWs, with the possible exception of coaches with a tag axle. We have yet to try them on one of these and it is possible that the larger diameter of the EVO shock could cause fitment issues, but cannot say for sure yet. Either the EVOs or the older FSDs would be a great upgrade for a 94 F53 though. Thanks!

    Just ordered. What is the torque for the 2020 Ford 53 V8 Thor Windsport 31C?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer Рік тому

      The F53 uses 3/4" diameter bolts for the shock mounts. These should be torqued to 120-150 ft-lbs.
