This gave me the idea to make a heat resistant cover for my hot glue gun! I don't always have time to let it cool before packing up. Thank you for introducing me to insul-bright!
Thanks Rob for such a fantastic workshop in Modesto @ CCQ...I traveled to the event with this same iron...and now I need to make your cool cover!! Continued blessings and success..Kathy Ray
Hello Rob, i'm Jessica W. Mom. She is the one that introduced me to you and your works. Love this iron cover.!!! Thanks. Its one that I will make a lot of for all my sewing friends. Have a great Christmas and a blessed New Year. Donna Gladstone.PS. met you in Hamilton Mo.
Perfect! You make patterns like I do. Just curious, what keeps the fabric from scorching or burning a hole from the hot iron? Keep up the great tutorials. Love them! ⭐️✂️⭐️🙃😍🌠
This gives me an idea for making my own customized case for my hot brush when traveling. I've found them ready made for flat irons, but not for the brushes. Ordering some Insul-Bright right now. Found some on Amazon!
I just found the Man Sewing Shark Applicutter Rotary Cutter..it's on Missouri Star quilt website...It costs $10.00 extra for shipping to Canada...plus the cost of the cutter ... $12.95
Don't you ever have problems with the sharpie bleeding through? You should try the Frixion pens. They come in several colors, are erasable on paper and disappear with heat from your iron on fabric!
got to make 2, one for me and one for my sister, were can I get your little rotary cutter and what do I ask for, thanks for sharing , love your videos haven't sewn since high school and learning a lot from you

It so easy way to stitch and thankx for making tutorials i watch your videos and thank you First i just know how to stitch punjabi ladies suit now with help of your videos i make more things THANK YOU
My disaster story... I was sewing binding onto a quilt in the middle of the night desperately trying to get in on before my flight the next morning. I'm working on a folding table and the vibrations from my warp speed sewing bounced my iron right off the edge of the table onto my tablet that I had tucked under my table to keep safe. The screen shattered... It was one of those jaw dropping I can't even believe this just happened moments
you could have saved yourself one or two stepsand had a less cumbersome time, fitting the batting inside, if at the stage of sewing the two top layers together, you would have incorporated your two layers of batting there. After sewing together those four layers (cover fabric right sides together, two layers batting on top), you trim back the batting to about a millimeter or two to the line, you sewed, and then go on turning and ironing that seam. Neat result, less wrinkly, and getting the batting inside is easier. Plus no risk, the marker gets on the right side of the fabric. Made foldable bread baskets that way and a thing to keep toast warm.
My disaster story is that I was packing away after having done quilting for the day, set my hot iron standing up on my brand new carpet, turned around and then knocked the iron over to melt a patch of my carpet :(
Hi Carolynn! Did you find out what was causing your audio issues? The tutorial is playing with sound for me, so please let me know if you need assistance. Thanks!
My disaster story is about the time I made curtains for my living room. I was using some type of poly-blend fabric and I had my iron on the hottest setting. Melted fabric, gunk all over the iron and oh my, the smell!
This gave me the idea to make a heat resistant cover for my hot glue gun! I don't always have time to let it cool before packing up. Thank you for introducing me to insul-bright!
I love small, practical projects. Thank you Rob.
That's a great idea & I like that it can be made for different size irons!

Thanks Rob for such a fantastic workshop in Modesto @ CCQ...I traveled to the event with this same iron...and now I need to make your cool cover!! Continued blessings and success..Kathy Ray

I definitely will make this! I will probably only make this though to store it in.

Man Sewing Shark Applicutter Rotary Cutter..it's on Missouri Star quilt website...It costs $10.00 extra for shipping to Canada...plus the cost of the cutter ... $12.95

Love this! Would be good for protecting your iron in your suitcase.
Love the concept I sure will be making one!!!
Don't you ever have problems with the sharpie bleeding through? You should try the Frixion pens. They come in several colors, are erasable on paper and disappear with heat from your iron on fabric!
That's a neat cover. You also have bag for it? Do you have a tutorial on making the bag?
Hi Donna! I used the Double Pull Drawstring Bag tutorial to make one. You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/YHniADMBKTA/v-deo.html Have fun sewing!
Hay, I love love your videos, do you have the name or link to he rotary cutter please. Thanks
Wendy , from Norfolk England.
Gotta try this one!
I love this! Thank you Rob! Are you not worried about sharpie pen going through to the other side? Just curious.
What is the quilt pattern in the background of this video? It's beautiful!
Adoro suas aula e suas camisetas!
Rob, do the metallic properties of the insulated batting dull the cutter blade faster than regular batting? Great project. Thx for sharing!
Great idea. Thanks for sharing!
got to make 2, one for me and one for my sister, were can I get your little rotary cutter and what do I ask for, thanks for sharing , love your videos haven't sewn since high school and learning a lot from you

Great project
Love your videos!
Thanks for sharing. Would like to buy your clever cutter... But you need a bodkin not a safety pin!
Hi Angie! Thanks for the tip! :) You can find a Shark Applicutter here: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/70023/msqc/rob-appell/man-sewing-shark-applicutter-rotary-cutter
I find that using a safety pin works better for me rather than a bodkin.
Where can I get the rotary cutter you are using??
Interesting! Now we just need an iron
What is that little cutter called. I've never seen one before.
Hi Wendy! It's the Shark Applicutter, and you can find one here: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/70023/msqc/rob-appell/man-sewing-shark-applicutter-rotary-cutter

Can I make oven glovespecially with it or do I need a diffrenth product plz good work
Yes you can make an oven glove with insulbrite. :)
Leticia Barnes thanks
I also have a friend who puts this product in table runners.
I like this idea, but won't the inside fabric scorch when you put a hot iron in?
Linda Jacobs I wondered that too!
That was my concern too !
Wouldn’t it be better to have a heat resistant fabric like an ironing board cover on the inside !!

Very cool 😜
How much did this end up costing in msterials?

Does cutting that type of batting dull the rotary blade?
Hi Jennifer! I usually recommend using an old rotary blade to cut batting, and keeping your sharp one for fabric. Thanks for watching!

I have audio... no pic! Is it just me? This has just ben posted, correct?
I think it's you. I have both audio and video. Good luck troubleshooting
Hi Carolynn! Did you find out what was causing your audio issues? The tutorial is playing with sound for me, so please let me know if you need assistance. Thanks!
Man Sewing Thanks! I tried again today without issue ... I am not sure what was going on the other day.
