  • Many of you have commented on my tiny ironing board in the past so here’s your opportunity to make one for yourself. It is perfect for quick presses of HSTs and other patchwork blocks, hems on small projects, giving a neat finish to purses and pouches as well as scrap buster projects such as scrunchies and bunting.
    All you need is a wooden clipboard, something to pad it, some fabulous fabric and good adhesive tape. It’s portability and added clip at the top for easy braiding and plaiting make this a must-have tool to add to your collection.

    I used E6000 glue and put a self healing cutting board on the back side so I could cut and press! Thank you for the idea!

    Oh Corrine , you’re BRILLIANT 🤩🤩 . You’re so right , I need a small mobile ironing board for my projects. It gets annoying to keep hauling my way to the big ironing board .
    I got to go shopping for clipboards and make me two.
    Thank you my dear for another very useful project 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Love it! I think I'll try spray adhesive to attach the fabric and apply a felt backing. Thank you for sharing!

    I love this!! I have a Circuit iron and need a little ironing board! Love you videos and accent!! Oh and I found the Michael Miller crab fabric that you used to make a little pinafore apron…except it has blue background instead of white like your fabric. Made a cute pinafore…we live in Maryland where crabs are very popular!

      @@TheCraftsChannel haha. No problem!! For the past couple days, I’ve been watching other tutorials on the little pinafore…so many have you turning the fabric out through the strap… WHY when you can do it your way!!??? So much easier.

    I saw the clipboard on your macrame video but couldn't find instructions so I made a padded removable cover for the clipboard held in place by 3 tabs with Velcro on over the clip. I didn't realise that it could be an ironing board as well so it hasn't got a foil layer but I guess it would be easy to put one in. Thanks for the video.

    • @TheCraftsChannel
      @TheCraftsChannel  Рік тому

      You could probably get away without the foil if you're just pressing seams with a medium iron. The foil will reflect the heat back to make it more efficient though, c x

  • @debbiehall4155
    @debbiehall4155 Рік тому +1

    Hello Corrine, how ingenious, I covered a clip board with batting and fabric for macrame after watching your macrame video, and wow, another use for the clipboard. I just used masking tape in the back, so I can open it up and insert some foil, what a great idea. I also have the small iron and a small portable table ironing board, but this would be so much less cumbersome even than that. Great video!

    That double sided tape would allow a police of fabric or shelf liner that resists sliding to be put on the back to overlap raw edges too Just an idea

    Hi Corrine :-) Would you happen to have a pattern for eye glass case? A templatew would be handy as well :-) Thank you sweet lady :-)

    • @TheCraftsChannel
      @TheCraftsChannel  Місяць тому

      There was one I made from leather that went into the magazine so there are no instructions (or video demo) but the template is here - www.sewmag.co.uk/templates/sun-glasses-case-sew-113-august-18
      Because it was leather there are no real seam allowances so you'll need to consider this if you want to make it from layers of fabric, c x

      @@claireizzard5853 yes, I'm still experiencing issues. I can download pattern packs from the magazine issues but I can't get into any of the links from the demos. I messaged the powers that be and they are still working on it as since the switchover it's 'gone a bit haywire' (their words!) and they send their apologies x x
