I’ve been trying various methods to do this with minimal luck, but this worked like a charm! Thank you! If the bike ever seemed to get hung up on a particular step, reconnecting the usb seemed to do the trick. Also +1 on your advice about trying different cables as some are only meant for power and not data transfer. Separately - does anyone know any good guides to run two apps side by side? I’m looking to run peloton metrics next to a youtube video. Other sources have suggested an app called Custom Navigation Bar, but I haven’t had any luck getting that to work. TIA!
@@netwalkergoogle so I went ahead and tried it. It works great. The only problem is that I wanted to do a zwift run using moonlight. But you have to be in the peloton app for the motor to turn on. I tried to do a "just run" and then jump over to moonlight, but as soon as I leave the peloton app, the motor shuts down. If I want to zwift run, I will probably have to use an iPad or something. Oh well.
Any idea why I can get Nova, Aurora store, etc installed, but when I try to install something via the store it won't. The download completes, but it never installs
I’m guessing it’s because “install apps from this source “ didn’t get checked on the first download/install from the aurora store. Try going into settings/apps and checking the permissions.
As soon as you're done installing, you don't need the computer of cable anymore. That's what's really nice about installing the Aurora store with this - You can then use it to add and remove programs on your Peloton.
Hi-thanks for doing this, however I’m attempting it on a pc and being a computer idiot I am lost. Have gotten as far as loading the software onto the pc but when it askes me to enable debugging of the usb I cannot locate that on the tablet. Any chance you’re going to do a walkthrough uing a pc?
It sounds like you have the program installed on your windows pc? Then you can start from here to enable developer mode and usb debugging: ua-cam.com/video/X3oN8JhHe_8/v-deo.html
Hello, I went through all of the steps, and unfortunately, none of the applications installed. I will say that another screen popped up before you could skip the installation. It asks if you are a member or installer, and doesn't allow you to skip. Then I click member and it installs one more update. THEN you can skip the installation. One other thing that seemed different is that when I plug in the computer it prompts for always allow debugging, but then it turns device management back on. I've tried installing that way and tried installing after force stopping device manager again, but none of the apps install from Openpelo using both methods. I'm on a Windows PC
Hi @tjt4286 , I just posted a video using Windows as well as a little quicker shortcut I discovered that might help you out. ua-cam.com/video/Q5XIlXqa0Cg/v-deo.html
Make sure that you've enabled USB debugging mode on the Peloton and checked the box on the Peloton screen to allow connections from that device when you plugged in. If you're in developer mode with the USB debugging enable, and not getting that popup message, it could be your cable.
Hi, I am unable to get the application to open. I am getting a termial error message. Can you let me know what specs you are working with on your mac to see if it's just my computer? I've got a 2017 Air on Monterey 12.7.6. Thanks!
Brand new updated - I've created an intel mac release as well. You can get it in the same place, just download the intel mac version: github.com/doudar/Openpelo/releases/latest
@@netwalkergoogle that worked thank you so much for taking the time to update the app and for doing it so quickly. Unfortunately, the apps were unable to install because I have a gen 1 peloton running on android 4.1.1 so I’m getting an error message [INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK]. I’m not sure if there are versions of nova launcher or aurora store or Firefox focus that support that android 4, so I might just not be able to run anything else on my peloton.
@adamortega1913 . If you can, give it another try. I just released a version with some older software sources that should be automatically detected if you have a Peloton gen 1.
Does this work on the 1st gen peloton? I’ve gone through the manual process of installing these apps using ADB but because the android firmware is on 4.1.1, none of the apps are compatible
I've attempted to be as version agnostic as I could with the sources, so it *should* work with the original Peloton, but I haven't tested it. I'd appreciate it if you can try it out and let me know!
I just updated it with some older software sources that should work on the Gen 1 Peloton. The appropriate sources will be automatically available depending on which bike version you have.

Awesome! Please spread the word if you get a chance!
Just got this working after pulling my hair out trying to get Nova working myself, thanks so much!
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
This is great. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you I will be doing this!
any idea if this works on the peloton bike+ or on the tread?
I haven’t tried, but the software loading should be identical. Unsure about entering developer mode, however I’d guess it’s the same process.

Silly Q but can you then use the peloton app subscription rather than the bike membership? Thanks a bunch !
@@orrie82 I just tried, and unfortunately the version available on Aurora store isn't compatible with the hardware (which is kinda funny :) )

Do you have to keep the peloton connected to a pc/ laptop constantly or once it is setup it works direct from the peloton touchscreen?
As soon as you're done installing, you don't need the computer of cable anymore. That's what's really nice about installing the Aurora store with this - You can then use it to add and remove programs on your Peloton.

My guess is that this is a apple silicon vs intel issue. I'll see if I can add an intel mac build to the repository.
