Today I wake and get ready for work one last time after 32 years same job same commute and same band blasting in my ear pieces as I navigate the 101 Ventura to Santa Barbara on my 59 Harley knucklehead 😁. My girlfriend introduced me to this band in 1991 and I've been hooked since! That girlfriend is my wife of 31 years and 5 daughter's left I find myself emotional cause after today I no longer work. I'm 61 now and as I enter this new chapter of my life one thing remains and that's my love for a band that kept me company for 3 decades on the road and that gives me a sense of gratitude I will hold onto forever. Babe thank you for this amazing crazy adventurous thing called marriage . Not a half bad life 😁

While this reply is a bit late I have a feeling you'll read it. Retirement is like graduation in that it's a mix of wonderful and sad moments. Push past that. This is the time you're finally allowed to enjoy every moment for what it is. No rush. No hurry in traffic, no competition with the person next to you, no frustration in trying to reach the next milestone. Linger in every moment - suck it in - and watch the people around you. The change in perspective is amazing and it'll give you a patience and appreciation you'll wish you were able to find long before. Apologize to someone you've never gotten along with. Call up someone you haven't talked to in 20 years. Time is the greatest gift we're ever given and it can be freeing or a horrible prison. You'll change more in the next 4 years than you did in the previous 20. I envy you. Congratulations....

I've been retired almost 7 months now and enjoying it but it has been an adjustment for sure trying to keep myself busy but my wife is helping me in that department lol painting inside of house reorganizing our garage etc lol. I do get out for my rides but take it a bit slower these days, no rush anymore, just gratitude for the life I have, my wife and our daughters, retirement is treating me well👍. This song reminds me of that angel like lady that often interrupts my dreams ...that angel like face and beutiful Paradise green eyes...before life was great but once I met her life was never the same...I learn to know what it was like to love someone enough to let them go.... and hope one day I'll have her in in my arms again...but at least with her I learn to get lost in a beutiful story...even if it was a short one.....ahhh.... pretty lady....Smile...VR
