Nice video Rich!!! If I could offer one bit of advice when sublimating...don't let the press pop open. The sub paper and garment/item will shift causing ghosting (double print). Slowly lift it up. The sublimation process is still bonding after the press is opened because of the temperature. ✌🏽
If Sawgrass isn't available in your area or you have tighter budget, you buy Epson L1800 ($500) or Epson L805 ($250) new without putting any inks and just put sublimation inks instead. They print a bit slower but save much more. FYI, L1800 could print up to A3+ and L805 prints up to A4 size. The biggest con is it does not do on dark color materials. Yet, having one for light color materials won't hurt as the maintenance is pretty much as the same with normal dye inks. DTG and DTF have their pros for having white color and could do on dark materials but maintenances are nightmare. Not to mention the processes involved.
I bought a Epson Ecotank Photo ET-8550, prints 13” by 19” or 12.95” by 70+ inches with custom size. You dont need to convert this printer as it is a Ecotank so you just fill the ink up and thats all! (If new and no other i k was put inside) It is great no problems at all had printed over 200 full pages full colors at 12.95” x 32” , colors are great. Ink is not the cheapest at $80 (for 6 colors 120ml each bottle.) and you have to cut rolls into the size you want but other than that prints great. Also $699, not the cheapest but cheaper than the sawgrass which only prints 11x17 and the ink is much more expensive.
